Hello RU-vidrs, I am sharing my story hoping it will help someone. What they don’t tell you in these videos is that endoscopic surgery is NOT covered by health insurance (in the United States). I had to pay $30K for my procedure (May 2024). However it was more than worth it. I had to acquire the funds from my retirement account. Borrow the money if you need, you will be glad you did. Immediately after surgery, I was instantly and fully healed with no recovery time. Nor did I need any pain medication afterwards at all, whatsoever. It was money well spent.
Also: The Dr's who do perform this surgery are very few.. That is because it takes special training. And the Dr's who do perform it in the Central / N. Jersey area ( none in S.Jersey or Phila. Area) none of them accept Medicare. I have contacted five different offices who perform it. I would prefer this type of surgery because I had trouble with scared tissue entrapping nerves now causing constant pain 24/7 after having a previous traditional fusion.
Hi, good to hear this news!! I am hoping it will continue to help you long term_An do you guys know if there's a way to stop a bulging disc from turning into a herniated disc and get the gel to suck back in, or is it already too far gone, once bulging? I have a herniated disc and a bulging disc 🤕
Hello I have been dealing with this for almost 2 years... severely bulging disks at l4l5 and l5s1.. was managing with the pain but now I can hardly move. I'm going to get a surgery soon. It's the worst pain imaginable. Im sorry for everyone dealing with this pain. I hope I can get this fixed
Hope you get better soon. Having spent a few years dealing with a bulging disc I highly highly recommend you look at a book called Back Mechanic by Professor Stuart McGill. He's helped thousands avoid surgery and helped post-operative patients too and works with elite athletes and ordinary people.
this is very recommed for me because i have a injury in lumbar spine L4 L5 S1 too since 2013 until now and insha allah i will be the plot to MRI to see the progress it..thank you
I had my L5-S1 Disk eruptured and had severe Inflammation and paralysis including Foot-drop, operated PELD at the end. I heard(aware) that PELD is operated by Endoscope - but didnt knew that it is likely more inserting a whole metal rod into my side lol. It was spectacle experience tho. Like, you know, i can tell my friends 'hey buddy, have you ever poked your butt by a whole half-meter metal rod? I do!'
During the surgery is the patient awake or asleep? I have this problem, it's not fun, it's been 2.5 months, I now need a walking stick. I'm only 36 but feels like 66. Want to do surgery but doctor doesn't recommend and I'm scared
Hi is there a high death risk with this? I’m in excruciating pain Bc i have a l4 l5 s1 bulging AND herniated disc … I’m only 21 and in unbearable pain. But I’m very scared to get surgery
I have the same exact thing only 22 here but this is my 2nd time herniating my disc again, I would say for you to go to a great physical therapy place and do good physical therapy for 2-3 months thats what really helped me the first time. try to avoid the surgery if possible
Lily u literally posted exactly how I'm feeling as well. I injured my back really bad trying to lift my 110lb scooter up a flight of stairs without bending legs properly 2yrs ago. I felt something click out of place in my lower back just before i felt excruciating pain. I could barely move or turn my body the next day. I Had to call 911 for an ambulance to go to the ER. In my younger years, I also put a lot of HEAVY lifting stress on my back so I'm all messed up. Imagine still having to work 12 shifts like this... 😐
Depending on the cause of the sciatica pain, in some cases, such as spinal stenosis or herniated disc, a full-endoscopic procedure can be performed to reduce the symptoms.
Sir, I have been suffering from back pain for almost a year. After my report, a doctor from Bangladesh said that an operation is needed. Do you have a good doctor in Bangladesh? Sir I hope you will reply

will this affect me im 16 still growing will this affect ive failed meds finna go fet steriod injection and if that does not work ill get this what are the affect of theis on your disk will it take some of you disk off
Endoscopic spine surgery is one of the lowest post-operative complications number. Please contact your endoscopic spine surgeon for clarify all doubts.
@@sabinabastola8371 I'm not quite sure which type of injections you are refering too, and do you mean back pain arising from a spinal canal stenosis or disc herniation? Epidural steriod injections can be used to lower pain sensation, and are used in clinical practice also to confirm te source region of the pain, in case the source is unclear. These injections into or very close to the spinal canal might have to be repeated in case it is used as pain treatment. Some patients may benefit from this treatment. A removal of seqestrated tissue and other compressive structures, such as bone, still might be neccesary. A clinican will have to advice on these matters.
Most of the time it is not necessary to remove the disc completely, specialy with the full-endoscopic technique you can do the procedure minimal invasive
I was operated 4 weeks ago through this endoscopic procedure and I have back pain when I stand for a long time, I am 21 years old and I had to do the operation because I had a pinched nerve for a very long time, please if you can give me an opinion if I will be able to have a life like before the operation, I am very upset and demoralized
It depends on the patient and his problem but usually endoscopically operated patients can return to they previous activity very fast. You should consult your case with a surgeon who provides endoscopic procedures.
I'm not a doctor but I think you would have to tone it down. My Doctor told me it's recommended to get back to exercising instead of laying in bed.But I think you and maybe need to lift less heavy or take more rest days

Sir ,I am from Bangladesh. I have disk prolapse at l5-s1 leading to secondary canal stenosis. Can inform me any Bangladeshi surgeon who have operate endoscopic surgery.
How a patient can be normal after surgery if there is no nucleus pulposus inside the disk ? I am also suffering from disc bulge so i have also same question in my mind .
Endoscopic operations have a very hight rate of the success. The surgeon takes off only the "bulge" that causes the pain and it doesn't make any damage.
@@RIWOspine There is extensive peer-reviewed research which shows that the success rate is quite low. Also, the way you have described the procedure is very misleading. A large proportion of those who undergo spinal surgery end up having to have surgery again. Moreover, with the exception of a very small number of patients who have medical emergencies, disc bulges heal conservatively with time if a conservative approach is followed.
@@mal5313 Hey, I would suggest you read Back Mechanic by Stuart McGill. He is a Canadian Professor who works with elite athletes and government ministers to help them avoid back surgery. His book is very useful for recovering. He has a 95% success rate with patients who were told they had to have surgery.
Dear Anup Jha, the disc is usually ruptured before the operation, which in turn causes the disc herniation. This procedure does not cure the disc, but remove the sequestered material. In case the rupture in the disc anulus is large, some surgeons prefer to remove larger parts of the disc to avoid reherniation. The chance of reherniation is in the low percent range. Efforts to close the disc - which would anyway follow a removal of the sequester - show, to my best knowledge, varying results. Another alternative might be to mechanically fix the spine, e.g. using screws. The invasiveness and loss of mobility should be carefully considered by the patient and the clinician. Endoscopic procedures might help to overcome these drawbacks and maintain mobility. Please consult with your local clinican.
@@RIWOspine This is not medically accurate and is legally risky. The chance of reherniation has been looked at in multiple studies and is quite high. The risk of serious and life-changing complications is significant

hello doctor, I also have a question for you, how long does the pain last after this procedure? and can the disk be regenerated to be the same as before?
Normally patient is walking few hours after being operated. Very often without painkillers. Fast recovery is one of the crucial benefit of endoscopic spine operation.
I just had my surgery. Before this i cant walk or sit. Cant even have a proper meal. It was like a nightmare. After the surgery, i can walk the next day. And sit normally. Im so glad i made the right decision. But ofcos i wear the lumbar back support. Helps alot!
@@vosisile4252 my surgery went smoothly. At first i was scared to go for surgery. But the pain is too much. Now i am 1 month after surgery. Everything is normal. But please wear lumbar back support after the surgery. It helps alot!

Dear Basil Alahmar, in all surgical procedures to remove the sequester of a herniated disc, there is a low risk of a reherniation. The incidence is similar accross current standard procedures. Depending on symptoms and diagnosis, a second surgery might be neccessary. There is a lot of literature on this topic and results vary slightly from study to study - in the low one digit percent range. I recommend to consult with your local surgeon.
