That's his version of tough love and accountability. IMO as someone who works in the mental health and addiction field, addiction is a mental and physical health disorder. However, addicts often cause great pain, destruction, and suffering to others (specifically their CHILDREN and families). To be truly in recovery, there is a need to learn to face the consequences of their behaviors. Addiction is a very selfish behavior and many find it difficult to see themselves as other than a victim.

Cause it’s her money. Why does that have to be explained? Who fed, clothed, provided medical, dental, and vision care and so much more for the child for 18 years? She paid for it all, so he owes her.
