What an immense player ad captain Richie was ... Jean too ... great era of rugby to watch and with Habana's pace and skill to watch at Super Rugby miss that
I love these commentators. So enthusiastic. They make the games feel joyous to watch compared to some of the stale, one-sided commentary we get over here.
Except David Flatman is good, especially on Forward play, plus he’s funny too. Eddie Butler was classy, RIP. Hard to go past Bill McClaren, RIP, in the old 5 Nations though, ‘The Voice Of Rugby’. 🙏
Enthusiastic, yes, but Marshall “not sure” about every second referee call gets old in a hurry. Sorry, Justin, but you aren’t a referee and your interpretation doesn’t matter one little bit. Scrum halves always believe they know better than everyone else. Stick to what you know.
As an AB fan this is my favorite game ever. I've watched it at least 10 times lol. I loved the fact that SA had to play running rugby because they needed the 4 tries. Made it even better to watch.
Oh boy! I remember watching this in 2013. Watched the whole thing again. That was the day Beauden Barrett indicated what kind of a player he'd turn into
@@empty2559 De villiers have steam rolled over far more bigger men than Beauden Barrett. There is no shame in that. Beaudy's resilience to push that aside and create a try out of nothing is the thing you're missing here. It is easy to miss important things like that being the keyboard warrior you are.
Ahh the good ol days when we had a solid set piece a tight five that done the hard yards, a steady midfield a back 3 who could easily diffuse the high ball and an actual skipper who led from the front .
Im watching this in 2023 still one of my favorites unbelievable game, if you want the best you play the best springbok v all blacks always a classic arm wrestle loving it can't wait for the world cup ❤
How The Beast stayed on after that challenge on McCaw is beyond me , shoulder direct onto head , and Nigel just gives a penalty , not even a yellow , no wonder he was saying Mr. Ref
0:40 One of the great Haka lead performance of all time by Liam Messam. I really *believed* he was ready for war. He later said he would nearly black out from the diaphragm exertions. The haka was a great prelude to one of the best games of the modern era.
9 years on and I had never seen this match previously. 9 tries and the lead changes made for exhilarating rugby between the great rivals. Two players, Le Roux and Beauden Barrett, announced themselves in a great free flowing match. An incredible game!
This new crop of AB forwards could learn a thing or two from this 2013 pack. Only forwards we got with any grit nowadays are Ardie, Brodie and Sam but the last 2 are nearing the end of their careers... Where have the likes of Messam + the Franks brothers gone?
So much better flow than these days. Now everything is a possible penalty and card and takes away from the flow of the game. Refs and WR are killing the game
I stayed up in the morning to watch this game it was well worth it was also the same day SBW and The Sydney Roosters beat Manly to win the NRL Grand Final which made it even better.
This is a great game to show to schoolboy players. The AB's supreme in loose play and the Boks just doing the basics extremely well. Two great Captains who play hard but play fair. Thanks for the upload.
This is one of Greatest games between these two Titanic teams where fans from both sides will point to this one as been the Classic for a number of reasons - the score changed hands about 3 or 4 times each way. The amount of running and awesome tackles and bumps and bangs is just shear entertainment. Nigel Owens said that this is the greatest game that he has ever refereed. He stated that " today, Rugby is the Winner"
Why havent i rewatched this game... now i know its the sping bok, the one and only team I cannot watch play AB. I'm always hiding behind my hands. Love love love sping bok, amazing effort abs, way to make nz proud mauri ora.
The best rugby games I think a lot of people can agree with me on this are between these two teams and when they’re close games and you never know who’s coming out on top The drama is what makes these games so memorable No joy in blow out games unless it’s personal and there’s some bad blood like with the French or the English now and then but these two nations have consistently brought the absolute best out of each other I’m sorry to see South African teams leave super rugby and potentially the national team leave the rugby championship altogether as well If the all blacks don’t make it I’ll be cheering for the boks and or the pumas to win the RWC
Gotta love these commentators. Ma'a Nonu being stopped and even lost the ball against Etzebeth at 21, commentators also saying "What a future he has" is very immediate and graceful. Love this battle.
All Blacks forwards hard, smart play to get themselves out of trouble to within 5 metres of the Springbok goal line.and steal the half time lead in overtime, needing a bonus point win to take the Championship. Love the Commentary during the game, and the fight back by the Springbok's. What a tug of war, great game, all on the line, but not on the Team list, or Nigel Owen blowing a tire
This is what makes Ruby the best game In the world🙌 I’m an AB’s supporter but I can honestly say that even if we’d lost this game I’d still be happy. The pure determination and unwillingness to quit form both sides! High drama, sacrificed bodies all over the field, and most of all pure entertainment & energy Easily a top 5 game between the 2 sides and perhaps a top 5 game of all time 🏉🔥
I think you're referring to game at Loftus Versefeld, Pretoria. The game that sealed the first ever series win on South African soil?? If that's the one you're referring to then, Yes to me that is Ultimate game because our All Blacks did something that no other All Black had ever done before. Sean Fitzpatrick said that particular victory was the Holy Grail and winning a series in South Africa was better than winning the World Cup. That score was 33-26 and Zinzan did a drop kick to seal it. I get emotional when I watch that game because of all the history and struggles to get it.
We had some good/legendary players in this game, but we also had quite a few who were average and came to nothing - the ABs were just class all through the teamsheet; some all-time greats.
Jeez I miss Ben from accounts , how good. Conrad Smith & Nonu combo, Israel Dagg, Mcaw all awesome. Cruden not so much 😂 where was Dan ? Beauden Barret cemented his name in the team.
@@jdb9388 the reason I say that is because it was a massive Bok win - but you guys won't show that. Can't blame. We would also try and heap on positives before Saturday. Make no mistake. We are a bit nervous. We would look like total idiots if we lose.
