Ahead of the All Blacks Test against USA in Washington on October 23, we take you back to the All Blacks last clash against USA at Chicago's Soldier Field in 2014. FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL: / allblacks / allblacks / allblacks
Coming from an NFL fan, Rugby is the most entertaining sport and community I have ever seen. It is growing rapidly over here too. Has a great future in the American and International sport world.
I appreciate American football, like it a lot actually, but there’s a lot of waiting between the plays and the ball doesn’t move between the players enough. And, for whatever reason, helmetless rugby seems to generate less serious injuries than helmet wearing, padded American football.
I love the welcoming of the comentators not being biased, but i gotta love how they have to explain every now and then to the fans what is happening and the rules as the game goes along. Mad respect from NZ to US.
Thank you. We try our best. It would be nice to be able to watch live Rugby games in America, without paying for a super expensive subscription. NFL is so boring. A league of tossers.
Great comment to grow the game and for those in the US wanting to know what the game is about to learn of the game to bring new viewers to the sport & game.
The Team gave it there all. I'm from New Zealand and the blacks can play this game blindfolded easily. I praise the Americans for their game , they did well.❤
Lack of experience and competition against the best teams for the Eagles. However, during this period 2014-2015, despite a big score here, the Eagles were really interesting, and the most exciting starting XV was never reunited at 100%. By example, AJ MacGinty was not eligible for this game, Takuzwa Ngwenya (right-win) and Thretton Palamo (inside centre), Cam Dolan (number 8) were absent, and Danny Barrett was injured at the beginning of the game.
As a Kiwi 🇳🇿I gotta say it; we need to play the Eagles more often. Every 2nd year at least - scoreline aside it was a spirited contest by the Eagles in 2014. Look forward to the upcoming game this October!
Thanks for putting the premiere option on this video. Makes it easy to know when stuff is being uploaded and helps boost the views on the All Blacks videos.
Good commentary and an Awesome crowd who came to see the All Blacks. Probably once in a life time experience for most of them to watch the BEST rugby team in the world. Thanks Chicago for supporting both teams. 👍
Ill never understand why SBW isnt considered one of the greatest All Blacks of all time, simply sublime to watch and a masterclass everytime he pulls on the jersey.
@@hamishgraham4133 and there are people out there who think he has no skill and only there because of his sport history, which sucks. He's a bit of a legend, sucks how opinionated couch coaches are.
I enjoyed the American commentary far more than I thought, they give it some passion and excitement in their own way. Explaining rules as they go, tu meke
I'm a kiwi and the reason new zealand is constantly good is because every player can do almost any job on the field.... so for your US folk it's about bringing a brigade that can adapt quickly kinda like your military
Ok first time kiwi watching this game, it was an ordinary game from the Eagles in the first half but was impressed with them in the second half when they realised the Blacks backline weren't just feeding a straight backline but were predominantly using miss out passes to catch the Eagles napping in the back line but after half time that changed and they started to make headway and even doing reverse passes but against the Blacks that is normal fare and they were ready. There was some good positives for the Eagles in playing the Blacks. Their coach obviously hadn't been keeping up with many recent international games. I guess the coach sitting in the box was watching and restructured their play strategy for the second half.
Playing the All Blacks will always make you play better rugby moving forward. Perfect example is how far Argentina (my second favourite team) have come. They beat us last year. Stay humble and kia kaha Eagles and United States Rugby
9:11 Man, Faumuina made a meal of that break. Retallick was wide open inside him and Charlie somehow couldn't get it to him. Might've tried to be a hero and sell a dummy that the defender wasn't buying.
It doesn't take much time to learn mechanics of this game, it does however need a little time in refinement for conditioning, method, and sharp witts in understanding the game's language. Just 6 months of intensive training with the right selection of players ( I know this idea may seem a little out there, but I'm definitely confident that I know what I am talking about, by the example of over here in Australia, many athletes switch codes all the time and have Huge success in another, some over here have even tried their luck in NFL and done reasonably well). If taken seriously I mean with a little investment, If the USA really wanted to take away NZ's glory in winning anything they could straight up pull High profile players (who are bigger, faster and agile) out of their NFL comp who are already physically conditioned, they just need to incorporate effective grappling skills that are required for tackling and suppressing oppositions game play stratergy. I dare say USA who has a much larger pool to choose from, has the players to beat NZ and year after year too, Its just about when do they want to make it happen. Food for thought!
Well Angel, I applaud/respect your belief's but the mechanics of this game are forever changing as the tempo gets quicker and laws are changed to reflect the games evolution. The introduction of professionalism in our National Game is such that, pride earned & shown when attaining AB status for players, in not only the current team, facillitates an opportunity for many of the players to support family outside of NZ. This together with good old fashioned Kiwi pride, will take significantly longer than several years, (not inside of 6 months) for any country (The Olympic champions of the game included) who are unaccustomed & novices @ the "modern" game, to achieve a status on par or close to mtching the skills of the AB's or for that matter any recognised National team versed in the skills of the game. I am very happy when any National Team in any sport travels Internationally - it is expericnces gained & learnt on Tours, (from participants) that develops the game across the world. I loved the way the commentators explained & promoted the game played by many amateur athletes in USA.
hi from New Zealand ,you must remember that the AB's play international teams from around the world against some big players in thoes teams as well but the thing with the AB's is that they have had more consistent wins than losses against any other rugby nation team and that is why they are cosidered the best in the world
It was a reasonably clever way to introduce the concept of a try to an American audience that has only seen touchdowns in NFL, where the ball doesn't even have to touch the ground I thought. They were trying to communicate to a relatively less informed American audience and had to use some crisp verbal imagery to drive the points home. It's weird to us but, we're already well versed in all the minutiae.
Watching this in 2021...rules have changed a bit but.... All Blacks are clearly holding back, not adding the two points, trying training ground moves, and I aknowledge the Japan demolition in 2005, but they definitely held back here
In 15yr,if that rugby competition is still going well and America look after their juniors path ways, they would eclipse Japan’s rise!!!Japan only lack sizes but America wouldn’t.
With the third most populous nation on earth with the largest economy in the world , right in the middle of where all the action is it has nothing to do with such a silly comment as N Zer's being born with a rugby ball in the kids cot, there is a grand total of about 5 million N Zers in all, with N Z , far away from where ANY action takes place , so the comments on that is just stupid.
It was not a harsh penalty for being on the wrong side of the ruck, just by being there it denies the other side the proper chance to get the ball,,,,,,,,,,,,
If they commentator doesnt understand why it's a penalty for laying on the wrong side of the ruck denying the process of the attacking team to get the ball then he needs to comment on tiddlywinks instead!
Some dumb remarks by the commentators, saying ..:put it in the corner , get a line out and have a rumble and go for a try to get the crowd behind you..: when they have a penalty within range.....god its about POINTS....what dum dums.....
🤣 @20:56 commentator.. and that pass was forward! Which it wasn’t 😆 then after watching replay he realises he was wrong! 🤣🤣 still not the worst rugby commentary I’ve heard before but they still don’t know correct rugby terminology but kudos to them they still learning, I guess and sometimes it’s easy for us in NZ to criticise them but we’ve grownup with the knowledge and understanding the correct terms like a 3 pointer is actually called penalty and a 2 pointer is conversion😝
@@louissmith6300 Thanks for your reply. However, I just don't understand how the number of spectators makes a team world champions. No need for sour grapes my friend, I respect the all-blacks immensely, but your understanding of what makes a team world champions is deeply flawed. It was pointed out to me that this match was in 2014 which I got wrong, my appologies for that.
@@UniqueContentSAl No your right ,a huge amount of spectators doesnt make world champions ,but the most popular brand in the world, makes people want to pay to watch..Cardiff sold out with 75,000 against Wales next week, even though not their strongest team, but still sold out months ago, shows the pulling power of the Ab's...
@@Trajan2401 gotta love it when kiwis are compared to another country they always bring up the boat racing sport and underarm lesbian baseball: two of least most played “sports”. Woohoo! Congrats NZ 👏🏽
It seems that whenever the Americans gained an advantage it was penalised, however the many times when high tackling was carried out by the All Blacks it wasn’t noticed. In the UK, people would have been yellow carded at least. As always, the All Blacks seem to be given favourable refereeing decisions wherever they play. Obviously they were going to win, but why cheapen it by not applying equal game management to both sides?
there were several high and illegal by eagles. joubert allowed the game to flow and was a good contest. Would have ruined it if cards started coming out - and there were times USA shoulda had some. Reffing in general was pretty solid not many mistakes at all. stop being salty.
