@@churrgee3675 Based on the population and funding, they should already be challenging. Simply not good enough against the top 10 in the world. Team 10 will put 60 up against the US. Many of those players play in Europe already.
@@snap-n-shoot Money isn't everything in sport bro. The U.S. has like 7 sports more popular than rugby that's what's killing the game here. like the National Football/Soccer team just recently got good despite the game being played here for 90+ years. it will take time but rugby will get there eventually, hopefully.
Best Team in the World. Most Rugby fans in the US love the All Blacks. However we are Happy the Eagles got to play them and actually scored 2 tries on them.
When it comes to Rugby. I think USA have adopted the All Blacks as their team…. I sure have. Fuck that are good. Different level of talent between these two squads. Well played though
@@puppethound Even when there are 7.5k likes and comments, there is always the moron who has to climb out from under his rock and make a comment. The USA team won the award for being the best at trying. Your participation ribbon is in the post. What is your basement address?
Good on the USA! Thank you for hosting us and putting up a great fight, good to see our sport growing. All backs are different..so much talent. Awesome game Boys!
ABs fan here - gutsy game by the Eagles, they never gave up! They need to play teams like Canada, Japan and Italy - teams just that next tier down from the ABs that will still give them good competition but who are less likely to hammer them. They will get there! Japan used to be real easybeats but now they've beaten South Africa and gave Australia a good game the other day. Same with Argentina!
Not sure what everyone thinks, but i disagree with Pier's Morgan Twitter comment, U.S.A Rugby players weren't laughing at the All Blacks haka, I believe they were buzzing that they were facing the haka, that was their acknowledgement of soaking in that atmosphere that they have probably only read about - that's like the NZ football team facing a team like Brazil. I'm Kiwi born and bred and i was really proud of the American boys in how they handled themselves out on the field, too bad some of their main players couldn't be released from their clubs, i'm sure they would have relished the opportunity to face the AB's, also happy they got a couple of tries in there too, way to go boys, showed alot of spirit, even though the final scoreboard didn't show it - moving forward, you will only get better at the 15-man game - Kia Kaha boys! Stay Strong! #GreatToSeeTheAllBlackFansInTheStands #GoTheMightyABs #WellDoneUSARugbyTeam
That’s how I viewed it too , I think when met with a cultural situation the entire rugby world knows about but knows little of the excitement of being able to face it for them smiling
So were they laughing because they knew they were going to get spanked 🤣😂😜 Nah there were some players in the team who said they were not going to be intimated by the haka...
Full credit to the US for scoring 2 tries against the Number 1 Ranked team in the world. Everything from the tribute shown to Wainui to the tenacity of the US team in game shows me that there is still respect for each other in the world. Much
15 odd years ago the AB's were hammering Japan with triple digit scorelines. The Japanese have continued to build their game. Witness the incredible victory over South Africa at the 2015 World Cup and then their magnificent run at the 2019 World Cup through to the Quarters. They just lost by 9 point this weekend just gone to Australia. The USA will, if it chooses, grow in Rugby - they gotta grow the base, already reasonably strong in Califrornia.
Even though the USA were never going to win. They played with heart, passion and determination. And while rugby is a minority sport in that part of the world. It is good to see the sport get some exposure in an otherwise untapped market.
Huge learning experience for the US hope they capitalise on their mistakes and speed up their game play as AB’s were too fast off the ruck. And hopefully the game continues to grow more in the US.
@@MrOriordan learnt about what their weaknesses as the AB’s exposed a lot of them during the game. For e.g: Fitness could be one as the AB’s support play was superb with no eagles defenders in sight rushing to cut them off.
Massive respect to the US. They scored two tries, played hard until the final whistle, and paid respect to Sean Wainui before the Haka. As a Kiwi-American, I genuinely hope rugby continues to grow in the states and more fans discover rugby. The atmosphere at FedEx Field was awesome and USA fans should feel proud
@@baileygilbert4766 thanks bro, my dad’s side is from Dunedin, NZ, mom’s side is from Sweden - but I’ve grown up in New York City haha. Huge All Blacks and Highlanders fan
We do. Granted the NFL still dominates here (why, I have no idea), but there are a good amount of Rugby and AFL fans here, especially since we now have professional comps for both. It also doesn't hurt that Ma'a Nonu is playing up here as well.
@@BA-yz9up We'd rather have the commentary from commentators who know the sport versus those up here in the US that don't. Hell, we have people here who are absolutely convinced that the AFL is Rugby, Imagine them doing the commentary!
Well done and thankyou to our commentators upping their game when in comes to pronounciation of names i te reo maori. It seems very fitting at this time as we mourn that beautiful man Shaun Wainui. Well done again lads you can do it and you will get even better still.
@@kelbatt7729 ikr its quite scary like some of the us are the people that didn't get into NFL so instead play rugby so more money incentive could get NFL players in rugby
1stly. A big shout out to the American Eagles for there respects they paid to a fallen warrior. Sean Wainui. R. I. P.🙏 Ka mau te wehi. (Awesome). 2ndly. Although they lost to a better team. I hope they use it as a learning tool to prepare for the next RWC.✌ It is hard to contain a team who have individual talent all over the paddock. I'd love to see a game between Argentinian Pumas 🇦🇷 & the American Eagles. So prepare yourselves Eagles for the RWC. Kia Kaha. 👍 Well played. All Blacks.
Rugby is only just starting to grow here in the US. I think when more people get a bit of exposure to it they'll really enjoy it. I know that's how it was for me. Of course I knew New Zealand was going to annihilate us. They're like THE rugby team in the world. Someday though, who knows?
At about 12:00, you can see Augspurger thumping the ground in frustration and annoyance at himself after letting in Jordan's try. Good to see such high standards, despite the thrashing.
Новая Зеландия любимая команда, на долю секунды быстры игроки других игроков коанд соперников. Одна ХАКА чего стоит, боевой, игровой и дух и настрой. I love this team, i love this game. Воистину мужская!!!
I know the opposition wasn't the best , but the ball handling skills of the all blacks is amazing ,looking forward to them coming to the UK ,formidable
Augspurger: grandkids back in 2021, I scored a try against the greatest team in the World, the legendary Mighty All Blacks, and it was a beauty....looking forward to more games from the Eagles.
Nice one Dane. Hello America, thanks for receiving us and your tribute to Sean wainui. Though it was a big scoreline in numbers, I say thanks again for hosting us. And I know you guys absolutely loved our haka. The giddiness and smiles on the faces of the eagles said it all. And you are welcome. 🇳🇿👊😎 🤜🤛 😎👊🇺🇸
I think this is good for international rugby. For some of the eagles players, playing the best team in the world is such a buzz and a huge honour. Not many lower tier teams have that privilege. Despite that, they played whole heartedly and, it gives them great points how to improve their own game.
@@noormajiet8766 i mean, really?? The ABs are still the best in the world. If you think a ranking system makes that apparent then you’re delusional. So to make your statement correct - the ABs are the best. SA are the current number 1s.
u are right the ab are the best/but ask yourself is it not good for the sport that its an actual competition when there is 1 or 2 points in it/i dont wanna watch something when i know the outcome/and no im not delusional because 1 is the number before 2
@@penepatitenor I'm from South Africa as well and I acknowledge the fact that the ABs are the best team in the world right now. It was us in 2019 and perhaps even 2020, but now it's New Zealand. Next year should be interesting and I'm hoping we can beat the ABs again, but as always it'll be tough. God defend New Zealand!
It's tough to say. Rugby is part of our culture in countries like NZ, Aus and SA. We grew up playing it as kids on the streets, so it's just a different caliber of rugby.
You still done really well America the alblacks are the most successful sports team in the world. They have a 90% win rate since the introduction to rugby in new Zealand over 100 years ago. Fax
Hopefully they don't get discouraged but instead learn from this experience and come back better next time. 2 converted tries against the great All Blacks is something to be proud of. USA just need to know the rules inside out to know how far to push before being penalised. Also need to work on their fitness and especially their defence as a team. Good game otherwise.
I wish I could be as positive but this was the next time since we met in 2014 and we've regressed. The 2 tries were great. Something to take home. But the skill and rugby nous level is obvious. The fitness was definitely an issue. Our MLR season ended in July, so this is really the off-season for the majority of the USA Eagles.
The Eagles have nothing to be ashamed of. Played with Heart.. The AB hand out a spanking to everyone! Be Thankful you have to face them only occasionally and not every year in the Bledisole cup ! Lol
Yes bro they played with heart, the back lash loss after the Spingbok and loss of their brother any team would of struggled. I was there with my family, that try by the half back had the Kiwi fans to their feet massive respect.
I'm going to see the AB's in Cardiff next week, as a Kiwi living in the UK can't wait, BUT the one i really wanted to see was AB's vs England. That would really show where the AB's and England are at.
England/ABs couldn’t agree on the revenue split. A proper shame because asides from playing France, playing England is the highlight of any northern tour, no disrespect to Wales/Ireland/Scots intended. I’m not sure humiliating The Eagles is how ‘to grow’ the game in America. Huge respect to The Eagles for remaining positive, never throwing the towel in, never getting cynical with cheap shots.
@@CalTheKiwi1 I suspect that this anticipation to play England has more to do with the old colonial rivalry than it is to do with their ability. I don’t understand the hype to be fair. France have been perennially rubbish for about 10 years and England have only 2003 to celebrate.
@@jimcrowecrustin5976 no, it’s because of the way England beat AB’s in the 2019 World Cup. All AB fans want to see that result sorted with a dominating win.
A lot of folks in the comments are being exceedingly kind to and encouraging of the Eagles which is super classy and all around positive for the game. Having said that, however, man did we look silly out there. It's not as bad as England beating Romania 120-0, but not too far removed. We have 5 well-established and well-paying leagues (American football, baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer) and I just don't know if MLR will attract talent. Fingers crossed for the game here.
Ive seen a couple of the MLR games and the skillset is there. Look it's just a bit of a tricky one. The U.S. came to play and the we respect that. You guys have talent in truckloads. Remember you're a country of maybe 330 million and NZ doesnt even have 5. We here in NZ grow up with the game. The muscle memory and skillset starts at age 5 or even earlier because this is just what we do. Base talent isnt the deciding factor. Respect to the U.S. It's not nice to see a team get beaten by that much but going too easy on them would have been disrespectful. I mean the All Blacks basically just used the reserves for this one and I hope that didn't come across as a lack of respect, but my god if they had played the starting line-up it would have been horrible to see and I'm really glad they didn't do that. We want the U.S. to love the game not get traumatised by it.
What the US needs, is to host a RWC - and I for one would support that 100%. When the US hosted the Soccer WC, the sport took off exponentially and I think the same will happen if they get a chance to host the RWC. Just need the toothless World Rugby to see that and award the 2027 to them. Growing the sport should be the top priority and having a strong US side can only benefit the game.
This is why the All Blacks are truly the best team in the world. As an American I was pleased to see our team score their first ever tries against the All Blacks. Small step forward in a blow out defeat.
Damn they should make usa play against top teams more often. Least they scored there 1st try against the All Blacks gotta be happy for usa but it's still ALL BLACK EVERYTHING
