The real defense is even easier than this. You just drop straight down with your arms raised up. I mean you can overthink it like this if you want to but why?
if the person can just hold your weight or knows to simply let it go to the ground and take your back, you've put yourself into a worse situation.@@liquidbraino
Or check this out, he has full nelson on you. Small side step to either side, near side leg goes behind him, drop and rotate.it’s faster, and you get side control
Jesus Christ saved my life he can save yours to. No body is perfect we all have sinned fallen short of the glory of God, except Jesus Christ. So he was the perfect sacrifice for the world and he became that sacrifice. So that we can be perfect in God’s eyes all we need to do is. Repent from our sinful wicked ways and surrender our life’s to him. Jesus Christ. Repent meaning acknowledge and forsake your sins. Know you have sinned and know you are not good in God’s eyes. (Until you accept his gift of salvation. You will be seen perfect in his eyes because Jesus Christ paid the price.)Forsake meaning do not sin. (You may stumble but just rely on the Lord he’s got you in Jesus name.) We have to be clean and filled with the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ said we must be born again of the spirit to enter The Kingdom of Heaven. (John 3:3) ! God bless you all. I love you all may you all find Jesus Christ as your Lord Savior . God bless brothas and sisters ❤❤! Thank God ❤️❤😊❤😊
So true,be aware of people's position, especially behind you.Even at stores I try to find the empty lane or the self-checkout lane like they have at Walmart.Very good manuver tho.
It's like the guys that point out that running away is always the best chance at survival. It makes me wonder how many people hard2hurt has gotten killed.
Fiore Dei Liberi (an italian fighting master from the 14th century) wrote about the rear nelson in his fighting manuscript "Fior Di Battaglia" from 1404 and tells you not to interlace your fingers for this exact reason when preforming it. He also suggests slamming the attacker into a wall or post as a counter. Fascinating that these "modern wrestling techniques" are seen 600 years ago!
@@SS.Lohefalter it's a really... Really... No I mean really and I can't stress this enough, really great activity for a couple or group to engage in 🥳
I had a big brother and know this well. You can step to the side and mule kick, you can run backwards until they stumble and you fall on top of them. You can also just lift your legs right off the ground and roll out.
@@thebestytchannelNot an ideal situation, but still better than being stuck in a full Nelson! You can at least attempt a heel hook or knee bar from the ground.
This happened to me in school like a decade ago. A firm kick to the kneecap worked wonders. Alternatively, nutshots. I have full confidence that this trick in the video would work about 10% of the time.
Interesting. I've learned and taught martial arts/self defense for years, specifically Hapkido, and I've yet to see this one. We have a few for full Nelson but this one is new for me. Very nice. Gonna have to test it out soon💯🔥👌🏿
Raise your arms straight up and drop straight down and you will slide right out without much effort. Try that one and tell me I'm wrong when I say it is the perfect escape.
I had a friend in high school that liked to go around and put people in full Nelson's for fun. He wouldn't hurt you, like he wasn't being a bully, it was just like "he got you" but he tried it on me and I just threw my arms up and dropped before he could really get a grip on me. Obviously being on the ground at the feet of someone who is actually trying to hurt you isn't a great strategy, but this video just reminded me of that whole thing.
It's the perfect position to do an upper cut between the legs (men and women). Don't hold back, aim for their kidneys! They'll soon be back at your height again ;-)
In TKD we were taught to drop our chin, squat, push your ass back to get them off balance, then roll your shoulder to throw them over you. At that point you pretty much have free reign on the top of their head and neck. It works pretty well even with an attacker double your size when I have used it in competitive scenarios.
I don't think anyone will come up from behind and put you in a full nelson. If you're practicing attacks from behind I suggest you train on getting tackled, or shoved to the ground, things of that nature. Situational awareness is a huge help that's true. Eventually it becomes second nature and takes little to keep an eye in the back of your head so to speak. Saying this just to add it. With a lot of the videos I see on RU-vid they teach "do this, do that, move here, do this thing" in rwal world situations people are apt to forget anything past step 2. The three main goals should be defend, attack, escape. The less steps in each the better. Focus on 1 or 2 step vicious attacks that can be done in more than one position. Eyes, throat, groin, knees. If your hands are above theirs go for the eyes, if their hands are above yours go throat, if they have your arms go groin, if they have you pushed down in some way attack the knees. Their are a plethora of single motion attacks that you can learn to damage each of those.
If I had a little dude like that in a full Nelson, he's not going anywhere. Size and power cannot be easily overlooked unless the person on the receiving end is well trained.
Not that strength doesn’t matter. This technique uses leverage, not raw strength. Big guys lose holds on little guys rolling and fighting all the time. Edit, I’d also argue the victim in the scenario looks like he’s training in some way, shape or form. Hes not jacked, but he doesn’t look unfit.
It is really much simpler to ram your heel into the base of their patella. Doing this hard enough will dislocate their kneecap, after which they are not going anywhere fast. Other techniques to use in order to break their concentration on the hold are slamming them back into a wall, taking them backwards to the floor using a ko-uchi-gari technique, or spinning your body to create a form of hip throw. In each case, you start your escape from a more advantageous position than doing the shown technique alone.
I don't see the patella thing working. Judo will work. I've done it. Harai goshi while trapping his right arm to your side will have the attacker stuck along for the ride. Hit that hip throw right & you can have their face or head smack right into the ground. They won't be able to block their face cause you've trapped their arm with your over-hook
@@SkunkAnonymous He named actual judo throws. The knee thing is what is goofy about it. The other thing that's dumb about this a is NOBODY would attack you using a full nelson move. It just don't happen in real life. Somebody who's not a grappler rarely uses a grappling move & the full nelson isn't even a grappling move used in street fights.
The patella? Really? You honestly think that (1) if the leg is extended even slightly, as they will probably have their quads loaded as part of the "restraint" of the whole thing, that you'll even be able to find it in the heat of the moment; or (2) that you'll be able to overcome the strength of the quad muscles and quadriceps tendon with a single, uncannily accurate downward thrust? C'mon man, get out of that hero fantasy in your mind 🤦🏼♂️ if someone has their quads so unengaged as to be susceptible to this, they didn't mean you harm in the first place 💀
@@pizzlerot2730 Downward thrust? I think you completely misunderstood the post. The technique I describe is one I picked up from someone trained in the military. Take it up with them if you don't believe in it.
Master Ken has a better idea. It’s called the reverse thrust of freedom. That will break the grip. Then drop down and slip under your attacker’s arm to maneuver behind where you can disable and take down. Also (if you know it, say it with me) don’t forget to restomp the groin!
If you're finding yourself in either a half or full nelson, the first step is to ask yourself, "What the f**k am I doing with my life that I end up in these situations?"
haha exactly yeah. Be aware of your surroundings (don't let people just stand or walk up behind you that's too close for comfort). There are some martials arts that will teach you how to get out of stuff like this, but my instructors have usually always prefaced it with "if you find yourself in this position you're pretty fucked"
One of the most traumatizing things that happened to me in middle school was someone ran up behind me, put me in a rear naked choke and lifted me off my feet and held me there. Just as i was about to pass out they dropped me, that was probably the main thing that got me into martial arts, to avoid ever feeling that helpless again.
As a practicing martial artist and a longtime fan of amateur wrestling, I find videos like this to be very interesting and informative. I particularly appreciate the traditional salute at the end. SUBSCRIBED!
Good video explanation.👍 Reading comments on self defense techniques is always good for a laugh. This is one variation of many full Nelson escape techniques. Yes, we all know there are other techniques. Does this one work? Yes it does. Will it work every time under every condition? No, but that's why there are other variations. 🥋
A better way to do it is to flip the attacker over your front. He's left on the ground and your on top now. Make a 90° with your body, he loses footing and you use your shoulders to push him to ground and you can either run or stomp teeth
@@aburningbear3138 john wick would just murder the guy. I'm just saying using momentum to throw them off balance works well. It's probably different if your a girl but I can't really comment on that.
@@aburningbear3138 Actually you can, if you manage to put someone off balanced it’s really easy to use his own weight as a weapon, that’s literally the whole principle of wrestling and judo
@@FyXeeu I actually saw a really big guy do this with a Bjj girl. She was a black belt and literally couldn't do shit lol. The dude was like 6'5 and like 230+ lbs and she was 5'6 and maybe like 130. As a lady in most cases best thing you do is run and scream😂😂😂
@@sageart4771 With that much difference in strength he probably could have rear naked choked her with one arm and actually threatened a real submission. This isnt a submission its something you do to your little brother
@@Selfdefensegoat It's garbage, as a former bouncer I've met guys that would get you in a full Nelson and laugh at you trying to do this. Reach up with both hands and grab a finger. They'll let you go fast and you've got ahold of their fingers.
@@dabunnyrabbit2620 That's what I was taught in Shotokan Karate. Break the finger(s) and use the release of force to grab the arm and break it downward over your shoulder. Krav Maga also works: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z6hFqal2OK0.html
@@Foxtrotechogolfcharlie I haven't tried the hands up drop, but the finger works. If he puts his face forward enough to bite your finger, he's in range to gouge his eye with your other hand. He should release his grip enough to yank his finger all the way.
Place side (corner) of shoe on shin, press down and back. Shin scrape is more likely to be remembered and enacted. bonus they are less likely to want to run on said shin when you flee. Or while they are trying to lock your head let most of your body go limp, a limp body is very heavy and they are unlikely to be able/expecting to hold that. BEST defense if someone unknown is coming up that close behind you turn to them before they could grab you. The absolute number one self defense technique is being aware of your surroundings.
I always thought that if I found myself in a Full Nelson I would end up getting knocked the fuck out cause my mouth was writing checks that my ass can't cash 🤷♂️
Do people not get that the whole point of this video is to show something better to do than not doing anything at all? Ofc the chances of you escaping a full nelson from a bigger guy is slim no but it ain't 0 percent. You gotta do what you gotta do when you can't gtfo
Sorry friend but your superiority attitude is uncalled for. In a real street fight trying some fake Bruce Lee shyt only irritates your aggressor. This is not the correct technique for a weak, untrained person against a larger, stronger opponent. I only stopped just to read the bullshido comments of, Great Technique, Master!!! As a smaller, weaker person; trust and believe that if I am grabbed from behind this will NOT be my go-to move 😜🤪🥴
Who TF is @bollockjohnson6156 and why TF are they commenting here. My original remarks were accidentally attached here. I was attempting to comment on the video in general. I don't know, nor care who @pandacruiser is. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, I rarely randomly attack people's views. @@bollockjohnson6156: LOL, is it true that it takes a sausage eater to recognize a sausage eater. Ooh, I haven't had this much fun since kindergarten... Gimme another insult, gurrlll 😂😊
A full nelson is better as a restraint move when you have assistance, because for it to be effective, you must also take the other guy to the ground and wrap your legs around them so you can control how they can move, even using your heels like spurs to deter escape attempts. I like to call that the Crabby Nelson :)
Thank you for showing us in slow motion because a lot of people show it too fast and I don't understand it but thank you but thank you for going slow❤❤😊😊
Good move I think the reason why people get attacked from the back is alot of people go running or walking with ear phones on amd become unaware of there surroundings making it easier for a predator to attack from the back without the victim being aware of it
Your opponent has to be aware big time. In the heat of battle they typically aren't. My mate was being little rude in a pub and a guy took offense, he hit him twice hard in the face and was about to really hurt him, when I put this 6ft 3 guy in a full nelson as he was swinging with both arms. He flipped and couldn't get me off his back (I was flung about like a rodeo) and me being half his body weight held on for dear life until bouncers came to kick them both out. Mates face was blue for weeks but came in to work on the Monday :)
This technique is locked and unlocked I did it 25 years ago, at that time there was no RU-vid, today I feel great at least today you are showing the correct one how to unlock💪👌
Reach up and takes his hands off slide your hips to the side step behind Lean backwards as he falling strike the the face or eyes/ neck, leggs are separated heel tap to the the groin turn and face him. However this man is really good and I learn a lot from him definitely knows his stuff….
Ok, despite my many years in martial arts including the roughneck practical styles of BJJ and muay Thai I must admit I would have never considered this simple counter. I figured it was going to be a foot stomp and swinging elbow, or attempt at a koshi nage, or uchi-mata. But something as simple as pushing your own head up and then lowering your elbows? I'm tapping out to this one and giving it a 'LIKE"!
@@Selfdefensegoat used to do that when I traind in Whu Shu "until I came across two x sas who did it to me not a chance in hell of getting out of it they use the knife side of there hands so as you pull down your breaking your own neck"
@@Selfdefensegoat Dear Kevin Goat, I guess you meant SIMPLICITY is always best. Simplistic means a bad assessment of the problem is at play. Yes, this lock demands simplicity. What is the simplest way out of it? I can't see this you say working. Sorry. A strong person would be really difficult to overpower with the upward push......we need something SIMPLER. How about.....some sort of backward kick with one heel? I think it should be easier. If not it, get him to lose balance? Some Judo/Aikido move? Thanks a lot for your video. I'm off to church to pray I never get caught in a full nelson lock!
And also, best thing to understand is that not a lot of people out in the world are martial arts practitioners, even less, actively competing martial artists. Sometimes, just knowing how to throw a proper jab or proper teep is enough to defend yourself from the average Joe. Sometimes knowing a simple escape or counter is enough.
Remember: Going SSJ only works if your transformations power level gets raised beyond your opponents. If not, your hair WILL return to base form when you lose.😂
