i hope they continue to add new ships and expand the rooms, it really does help make the galaxy feel more full. i always run with ship mods as it gets boring when its all the same ships, i remember x3 with mods had over 200 ships lol the QOL additions are massive too!. i honestly hope X4 keeps going because the sky/moon is the limit with this game, and its been going for years.

The new ships and redesigned ship look amazing. I think I'll personally appreciate the quality of life feature the most however. I very much look forward to the new external camera and radial menu. I'm also looking forward to a late-game crisis. Though, I really hope we get some setting to decide when "late game" is for our playthrough. But mostly, I'm happy to see them continuing to build on and refine X4.

All these changes are awesome, hopefully one day we see improvements to npc faces and animations! Also does the new interiors mean we have race specific landing pads and elevators and terminals now?

Man i was just so happy they put a preview of satellite coverage prior to deploying, no more calculated guess work XD And ah yeah, the ships look good too i suppose

New third person view is difinitely my favorite feature. I also wanna see what Disco looks like in Xenon ships. Prolly the same.

1:41 ... that is the ship from albion prelude. Well a mothership of people that got lost as its old xenon drone to fix planets.

1st) Thanks so much Captain Collins for your videos. I simply can't tell you how helpful these have been. 2nd) I haven't played for about 6 months. All I can say is (OMG) this is amazing. For me, the game runs so much smoother, looks amazing and I upped the graphics setting quite a bit. Can't wait for your following videos as you explore the new features. Cheers

Seems like a decent update. I hope the devs or somebody shows a before and after of the ships redesigned. There was a ship in their trailer at 1:11 and I am curious to know if it's a new ship or a redesigned one because it looks awesome.

I just might have to buy this game now. Neat!

Just in time upgraded my gpu, now can enjoy X4 in all its glory!

Next time I stream I'm gonna turn on colour-blind mode, change all UI elements to random colours and constantly mess with the FOV slider! Radial menu 'Down' will be 'Yaw Left' and 'Up Right' will be 'Strafe Down'. Madness!

I’m a long time space game fan, enthusiast, can’t get enough player. I purchased Freelancer off the self in a box when I was a teen and my brain exploded with the choices and freedom of what I could do, to have control of my ship while in SPACE! And i have devoured every space game sense. The X series of games was another brain exploding space series of wonder. Amazing! X4 released and I was so excited! Fired up the game. I liked what I saw, went through some of the tutorials that really didn’t help much. Managed to fly around a bit. They brought back that voice from the earlier X3 games. That felt like home. And I managed to dock in a huge station to walk around a bit. Also got lost. And I realized,”I haven’t a clue what I’m doing, or should do next.” No real clear direction. So I shelved X4 until now. All these improvements are what was needed to help get going in what ever direction I choose. Just felt a bit lost…maybe over whelmed. Time is a factor as well, limited to really get into X4. I mean I’ve played some complicated games. I even liked most of X Rebirth, except being stuck in the Albion skunk the entire game. So, Bravo for making X4 I bit friendlier to get into.

Oh No! I had things to do. Thanks to this new patch, they will have to wait. 😅

I played yesterday for a short look and it is fantastic. Khaak Capitals are back, explosions looks good now. Good stuff nice update.

Hopefully the optimal utilization of the hardware will also be optimized so that you no longer have a slide show when you build large stations or enter a fully packed system! Multithreading is such a sticking point with X4 that it is not so optimal! Because when I see how underutilized my PC system is and then I see ingame that I only have 20FPS or even only 6FPS, I lose interest in the game. I've really liked the X series since the first X (X: Beyond the Frontier) came out!

Also, a really important one when you're trying to kill stations: "Added option to mark Build Storages as hostile." This may mean you can keep their build storage empty after blasting all the defenses off a station, and prevent them from sneaking new turrets in! Previously, you had to shoot that stuff manually. That's how I would (slowly) prune the xenon out of a system before I was able to field more than a couple destroyers... I find the mention of a "Reduced Speed Mode" to be intriguing too. It apparently slows down some aspects of gameplay. Also... "Improved balancing of stellar output across all systems to match stars and locations." WHAAA no more need for a mod to make the older systems have variable solar effectiveness!? FINALLY!

Fantastic improvements! Can't wait to get the release version!

ALL Egosoft X game are AWESOME !!! Yet, for me X4: Foundations was a bit frustrating ... Culprit? The game's UI ... The rest was as always amazing. And after YEARS of sadness X4:F7 beta hits with an improved UI ! So... guess who is BACK in business ?!

3:17 finally, a dev that listens, let the colorblinders choose their color, you're not gonna fix that 9 types of colorblinds * 3 different levels = 27 types of people to settle. Protan approbs. but then the big wait "AI fix", the economy AI and combat AI, it's something that was being requested since launch, but never addressed, just releasing the variables for modding might fix the problem.

I'm excited to get back to X4. Best to wait for Timelines though, right?

2:09 Jesus, I was just about to find a damn mod that would do exactly this. I'm so glad I can see my health in 3rd person now, that was such a huge pain to manage in large ship combat.

The 3rd person camera made me pog.

My hope is they add combat filter for player when in cockpit (first person or third person view) so we don't have to cycle thr hundred objects till we get the enemy ship we look at as a target. Or smart targeting something like if priorities target that is in my FoV than targets that is 30km far away behind me. Or Combat filter that set priority by size so if we want to set target first M size ships but skip S and so on. This will help with immersion since it removes the need to use mouse when in combat inside a cockpit on a large engagement like when there are 40+ or 100+ targets on a playfield.

It is not a comparison to miss the work of Egosoft, it is quite the opposite. They brought SC interaction features that are more user-friendly and that work great and I like that! I'll give myself an envication right now hahahaha

i discovered and bought this game about 2ish months ago i saw a few videos like the star wars mod and 100 hours in x4 and I'm actually in love with this game. i have 558.3 hours I'm using just a few mods and i currently have 8 factories. this game needs to be known more.

What was "mouse HUD mode" previously I hope that doesn't get rid of the steering mode where the mouse's offset from the center turned the ship. I use that all the time.

Hi! First-time commenter, long-time viewer 😊 I had seen an interview with Egosoft a while back where they said they were adding new Borin station units in this expansion or patch. Not new, I guess, but new boron-themed assets for some of the station units that are "borrowed" from other cultures. Did those make it I to the game? I can't find any references to them anywhere and thought you might know. 😊

God this game would be SO MUCH better if they would improve the AI.

if i were egosoft, in parallel, i would focus on a isometric top down, that focused on depth and features over a clanky engine, akin to factorio or starsector/distant worlds universe/

Been hittin' Elite Dangerous pretty hard the last several months. Sounds like I gotta get back into X4. It can be overwhelming to get back into after a long break. I have so much going on it's like drinking from a fire hose.

X4 is totally the very best space sim ever! I love it.

A lot of new features added from the beginning but one important thing is not comming : changing the menus interface which is not userfriendly, horrible to see and horrible to use.

Finally a 2rd person mode! I can finally see my ship in battle! Finally argon capital ships! I hated using terran mats

I really love the observation deck addition, I spend way to much time trying to make my stations look nice so at least I can justify it now chilling in the observatory ☺
