I like your sled comparision and sled review videos the best. I would really like to see you compare the XCR Indy to the XCR Switchback and see which skid your prefer in the different riding conditions. Is one better on the trail, in the powder, ditchbanging etc?

I'm a huge fan of lightweight sleds, so tired of giant heavy sleadweights.

Rode a 800 xm ski doo and a 2017 800 Polaris 174 in Togowotte WY. Polaris makes their shit so cheap and flimsy it’s stupid.

Dad I think you used every cliche you've ever used on previous segments and through it a couple more. Gillette sharpness awesome you sure come up with them. Axle bearings a size of a Mack truck lots of laughs. I just have to say I will not get on a Polaris because my Ski-Doo does everything I needed to and I'm afraid if I get on it I might like it but I paid too much for my skidoo could I can't afford another machine. Plus my 1200 pulls like a freight train anyways.

The new 850 Patriot continues Polaris tradition, of blowing up. 4 year warranty or not, tell that to people stuck out in the woods if it was worth it or not.

People that had some bugs with the first yr patriot recieved an extra yr warranty...5 yrs... how many company's are will to do that? Atleast they didn't try and hide the problem!!

@@duenorthadventures What bugs did they have ?

@@MBTUE the first batch of mountain sleds had a couple teething issues - (not blowing up - IIRC) - it was electrical if i remember correctly. Like 'grip ripp" said, Polaris fixed the issues and ADDED a full year warranty - mostly as an apology of their oversight....Butt hurtin guys like 'keepridingfun' is likely a Doo rider who bleeds yellow because their sleds are flawless (insert eye roll) ...we have a total of 6 new Polaris - 800's and 850's in our group. We ride HARD, already did over 2300 miles this year - havent had an issue with any of them. These days, ALL the manufacturers are good. I have had them ALL. Yes yellow ones too - the ride on Polaris keeps bringing me back. Just getting outside and spending time with friends and family in an amazing sport is what its all about. Personally i dont care what anyone rides - its all just a tickle to each other. Cheers

@@duenorthadventures Well Yamaha offered 4 year warranties on their sleds back in the 90's. And 25 years later Poo's are still blowing up.

Light weight isn't always the best. It comes to the point where something is so light that no matter what how well it's built it's still not going to hold up. I think sometimes manufacturers are trying to make stuff so light their forgetting about quality!
@GenSparks
@GenSparks 5 лет назад
Polaris sure proved it wrong as there chassis is very durable and light weight, I didn't heard of any problems with them.
@garritt8772
@garritt8772 5 лет назад
@@GenSparks I wasn't saying about one particular thing about any brand. I was just saying over the last few years there have been some problems with all brands because they are trying to cut as much weight of as possible whether it be chassis, motors etc..

Polaris 850’s blow up. If you don’t mind having your sled in the shop during the season go nuts.
@JDRTRM
@JDRTRM 5 лет назад
Mark K Then it’s in the dealer getting a new engine , bam winter is over - year goes bye bye then winter again boom 💥 goes another engine in shop year goes by etc etc . 4 yr warranty goes by quick , most the time it’s off season anyway ... they are selling because of this 4yr warranty . They don’t offer that with any other product they offer because people use the shit out of the other (sxs,atv,slingshot) warranty would get used a whole lot more ! Sleds sit more , helps with sales what I’m trying to say ..

At what expense does the manufacturer's sacrifice its customer's safety? It is only a matter of time before governments put a stop to this. I would think that the manufacturers would police themselves, but that appears to be something they totally disregard.

old wrench What are you referring to here?
@oldwrench4213
@oldwrench4213 5 лет назад
@@pajamatime5750 the constant one upmanship. If this continues, it will be just like the end of the muscle car era. Both the government and the insurance companies put a stop to all of it. History has a way of repeating itself. We had this same problem withh 800cc sleds in the late 60s and early 70s.
@pajamatime5750
@pajamatime5750 5 лет назад
old wrench This happens all over the powersports industry and I don’t see that changing.... it sells. Look at the canam vs. Polaris SxS battle year after year.... Not sure that’ll ever change?? I agree with you, but that seems to attract buyers year after year! I prefer proven, reliable vehicles that have been refined over time....
@oldwrench4213
@oldwrench4213 5 лет назад
@@pajamatime5750 And that is what will put the government right in the middle of it. Just like the 70s. When the doey do gooder's start raising a rukus, then it all gets shut down. Seen it before, it will happen again. Nobody's fault but the snowmobilers themselves this time.

There is nothing wrong with having high powered rocket ships for sleds. Its up to the operator to respect the power and ride within there limits. Its not the machines that hurt or kill people its the operator , just like a gun you need a human too pull the trigger for something to happen ,same goes for a sled or any toy.

Lite is Right...… until Crank Failure, Case breakage!!! on these light weight Polaris twin bomb shells. Enjoy them for a while...… Make 'Em light..... Make 'Em Light UP!!! Polaris faithful have short memories...…. 800 crankcase bearing failure. The most expensive of all engine repairs. Buyers beware.
