After living in my Rockwood Geo Pro G19TH toy hauler for 6 months, I provide a review. I discuss what my typical camp setup looks like and what products I use, as well as which products I choose not to use.

Be sure to flush your gray tank if you choose to use bathroom cleaner. After reviewing the video, I noticed I was not very clear that I add the bathroom cleaner to the gray tank when it is half full of clean water and then, after driving, flush with more clean water. I don't think the bathroom cleaner fumes are good to breath and do not use the cleaner as a deodorizer, I use it as a treatment. Use at your own risk, chemicals may prematurely wear seals and parts.

I picked up a 19 BH, thanks for set up education. I've heard simple maintenance of black tank is dawn dish soap and dry powder borax .. I'm 6'2"..so I'm on the bed in the front (RV full size) mostly just a sleeping bag with zip in liner blanket ...air out Wash as needed.. Wondering fuel economy with prices surging..if long trips > 500 miles might get too prohibitive cost wise..

Hello, David. Congrats on your Bunk House model. I almost picked up one of those. I couldn't get my bicycle through the side door, so I opted for the Toy Hauler. Fuel economy is always a moving target. Hills and wind are the biggest factors. Before modding my Chevy Colorado, I averaged a little over 12 mpg driving from California to Ohio, via Texas and Louisiana. Budgeting for fuel is definitely on my mind as I travel around!

Just remember you spent ~$30k on a travel trailer. What’s another couple thousand to see that bucket list destination.

Glad to be the first to comment. Just found your channel. I like it! I am considering this nomad life style also. I have been looking at BH models with & w/o slides. My other favorite other than the Geo Pro is a Winnebago Micro Minnie dual axle for more weight CCC and roof for solar panels, large passage or a bunk room floor for Lithium/ controller etc etc etc. Would you go Geo Pro again or have you looked at Micro Minnies. I have a 2006 Tundra with a 7300lb tow rating and a 1330 lb CCC so I have to be conservative on trailer weight, truck weight etc. Good video!

Hello, Richard. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for commenting. The BH is a neat layout. I chose the Toy Hauler because it was the only model I could find that easily accommodates my bicycle. I have come very close to maxing out the Geo Pro's single axle and I am max at the tongue weight for my pickup. I too considered a dual axle trailer and historically insist on at least two axles. I went with a single axle because two axles did not fit into the weight equations. I budgeted 5,000 lbs. for the trailer gross weight. This allowed me to add cargo to the pickup and keep things balanced. Even with a 7,000 towing capacity I needed to do suspension mods and at the end of the day, my tongue weight and CGVW is still up there. I don't have any opinion on the Winnebago because my reasoning for choosing the Geo Pro was based on numbers, included options, room for my bicycle, etc. I basically decided on the Geo Pro from behind my computer. So I don't think my opinion on trailers is going to help you unless your needs and wants are identical to mine.

@@MarioWorkedOnIt Thank you Mario. I am somewhat in the same train of thought as you. I'm disabled so I will be in the "house" much more than you probably are. I am planing on a large solar/Li energy system and I can see the benefit also of using the floor and walls of the bunk area (lower bunk removed) for my Li's, controller, trailer hard wired EMS. Winnebago has a 22ft bunkhouse with a E.W. of 3860 lbs and a max weight of 5,500 lbs. dual axle trailer. I think it would work well with very little truck suspension upgrading. I love the airbag suspension on your trailer. Wish they would make it available on more trailers.

Seems like some diluted Clorox would be more cost effective than the spray. Maybe 1:8 dilution would be easier on seals. The spray is just diluted Clorox with added crap to make it foam.
@MarioWorkedOnIt
@MarioWorkedOnIt 2 года назад
Hello there, Let's Go Brandon. I am not positive using the foaming bathroom cleaner is the solution. I have thought about using bleach, too. I just ended up using the cleaner, instead. I have worried about the seals at the dump valve. I try not to leave the concentrated cleaner in there too long and I also use a silicone lubricant on the dump valve seals. Not sure what my results would be if I did not take those precautions.

I appreciate your video as I am taking delivery of my Geopro 15TB this month and I am a new nomad! I notice you appear to have a electric assist bike. If so, do you ever encounter trails or parks where it is prohibited? Thanks, I will be watching for your future videos.
@MarioWorkedOnIt
@MarioWorkedOnIt 2 года назад
Hey there, John. Congratulations on your purchase! Indeed, I have a class one electric bicycle. I have seen signs that state, "no motorized vehicles". On the other hand, I have seen signs that use the Class I through Class III designation. For example, at Acadia National Park I used my bicycle on their "bike trails". They use signs that are explicit, stating Class I E-Bikes are allowed.

If you don't mind, what is the msrp on the 19'fbth? Also is that the longest model of the Geopro?
@MarioWorkedOnIt
@MarioWorkedOnIt 2 года назад
Hey there, Bryan. I do not know what the current MSRP is. Late in 2020, I purchased my Geo Pro for a little over $27,000. That included California sales tax, licensing, etc. Having said that, my trailer was built 6 months prior to me taking delivery. Compared to recent times where people order their trailer and then wait 6 months. So, the market is a little different today. IIRC, there are a couple floor plans that are a little larger, but not in a Toy Hauler. Also, many floor plans include a slideout. The toyhauler has none,

Can you use the airbags to level side to side?
@MarioWorkedOnIt
@MarioWorkedOnIt 2 года назад
Hi, Bryan. No, the air suspension does not allow for adjustments on one side, relative to the other. The ride height and "softness" of the springs is dependent on how much air you pump into the system.

I'm not sure that "sleep on a door" is a saying.
@MarioWorkedOnIt
@MarioWorkedOnIt 3 года назад
Hello, Kevin. Probably not a saying, but I do recall it as a practice. Placing a door under your bedding or mattress might be an economic choice and another motivation can be for back support. It is just an old memory of mine that was stirred up after sleeping on the floor. Yes, floor and door rhyme so I am providing a footnote. www.tripadvisor.com/LocationPhotoDirectLink-g635918-d193538-i466040123-The_Black_Swan_Helmsley-Helmsley_North_Yorkshire_England.html

Do you have tank heaters
@MarioWorkedOnIt
@MarioWorkedOnIt 2 года назад
Hello there, Steve. The GeoPro came with tank heaters. I do use them, but they are not the perfect answer. I still need a day in the high 30's and if it drops into the low 20's I will expect some freezing somewhere.
@Daggercrossover
@Daggercrossover 2 года назад
@@MarioWorkedOnIt I just got a 2021 geo pro 20bhs no tank heaters though. I'll be spending the winter in the Corpus Christi area. Last winter we had a few nights that it dropped into the high 20s but I had a different trailer the had a heated underbelly . Hopefully the Geo doesn't freeze up an crack something.
@MarioWorkedOnIt
@MarioWorkedOnIt 2 года назад
Congratulations on the new GeoPro. I have frozen solid on a few occasions and never had an issue with anything cracking. It is the wind that can really tip the scales. I always try to be conscious which way the wind is coming from and, if I have to, I will create wind blocks. If you can afford the water and the energy, I have found that allowing the kitchen faucet to drip helps keep the fresh water flowing and then some RV anti freeze in the black and grey holding tanks to help keep the dump valves operational.
@Daggercrossover
@Daggercrossover 2 года назад
@@MarioWorkedOnItThanks, 99% of the time I'm gonna be staying in RV parks so I can leave my fresh water tank empty and leave the grey water open. I found last yr down in that area it only got down below freezing for a couple of hrs. I'm from central NY around the great lakes, I know what cold is! There's times that it doesn't get above 0 for a couple of days. That's why in retirement I'll be in the south in the winter.
@MarioWorkedOnIt
@MarioWorkedOnIt 2 года назад
My preference is to keep the black and grey dump valves closed. I believe it keeps the smell down and also prevents critters from crawling around. I have seen some people leave the valves open and put a bend in the stinky slinky to create a trap, but I am not sure I want to try that. Another thing I prefer to do is fill my fresh water tank and disconnect the hoses. I try not to over fill the fresh water so the fill neck does not freeze. But I don't want my water filter and hoses freezing. Some people use the heated hoses, but that is not going to help your filter. There is more than one way to skin a catfish but thought I would share my preferences.

Hi there, Steve. The manufacturer name is Proven Industries here is a link to their website. You can also find their product on Amazon. I ordered mine direct from Proven. You need to study which type and size hitch you have because there are several options to chose from. Just remember that if someone really wants the trailer there are ways of moving it with the lock in place! www.provenlocks.com/
