Good Morning Joel, Great video and topic ! We shopped around a bit and in our case we found National General to fit our needs based on intermittent use. I thought we would get some kind of a discount because we store the rig in an indoor facility with all types of security and it actually made no difference 🤷🏻‍♂️ The coverage is very good with total replacement cost and I think we’re at 900 and some change for a year. Good morning! Thanks!! $900 really isn't bad at all, I'd say, but interesting that storing indoors had no impact... 🤔 It's good to know what folks get insurance-wise because this could be a pricey part of ones expenses after paying the rig off, so National General! ✅

I had National General here in Fl. We had total Replacement endorsement. Interesting thing is after a certain number of years, it drops down to actual value coverage. It was not clear to us when we started. As a matter of fact, the Repacement Coverage endorsement is nowhere to be found. I had to ask the agent to email it to me. So, same premium but it doesn't stay total replacement. We learned after a total loss due to fire on our mint condition Winnebago Tour. Trust me, your documentation is key! Oh that's great to know, the limits of coverage! Helps to have the right expectations if something were to happen. The second comment here with National General! Glad that you guys are still well after your motorhome fire. Scary stuff!

We use Foremost RV insurance and have been with them for 10 years and nobody has ever been able to touch the price or the coverage plus we have a 100.00 deductible. But you are correct from Vegas to Idaho Falls Idaho I saved 190.00 per quarter big difference.

It took me almost 2 months to find someone to cover my school bus. The issue is that in Florida they don’t allow you to insure commercial vehicles for personal use (super expensive anyways). But finding someone to insure it as a MH took forever. I called every big insurance agency and most small ones in my area. And they all said no because the VIN said BUS. But in order to change the registration I needed insurance (a catch 22). But if you call back another time and get someone else they may say yes. It all depends on who you get and if they want to help with the process. I am insured through national general right now. With basic Liab it is actually cheaper than my personal car. But once I’m done with the conversion and upgrade the plan I’m curious what it will cost.

How frustrating is that!! We tried to find smaller insurance shops out here, but the title and lack of registration made the difference... I'm glad you could get liability! The moral of the story: don't give up! 😂 I hope insurance stays reasonable for you once complete. 🤘

I believe I heard that some RV manufacturers void your warranty if you’re full time, do you know if that’s true?

That is true! Holiday Rambler/Fleetwood does not, but reading through our Airstream warranty, that was actually the case for the Flying Clouds and Globetrotter models that we had at the time!

Progressive covers camper vans. Some camper van RU-vidrs have that insurance.

Biggest takeaway here is to READ YOUR INSURANCE POLICY. So many people do not and then they are surprised when something happens and they aren't properly covered. Then they take their anger out on the poor insurance adjusters who are required to abide by what the policy says.
