We had talked about RV Living for two years before we met Keep Your Day Dream and Less Junk More Journey during their trip to Alaska. After meeting them at Cabela’s in Anchorage the planning phase quickly turned into the execution phase. We decided to make our Dream a Reality because tomorrow is not guaranteed.
In April of 2020, we sold our home and all of our belongings to “Chase our Adventures” and began our full time RV Living dream. We launched our RU-vid Channel "Roaming with the Ramsays" in the hope of inspiring others to Chase their Adventures and make memories.

*Chasing our Adventures
❤️ It’s more than just a slogan to us. We have both experienced the loss of loved ones who never had the chance to Chase their Adventures because life was just too short. RV Living is about more than just selling your stuff and moving into an RV. It’s about making memories together and building relationships with people we meet along the way.

We are Gordon & Alice Ramsay! 👍
We bought our first RV in the Spring of 2017 (2018 Forest River Surveyor) to explore Alaska and get a feel for Full Time RV Living. We started in RV Parks and State Campgrounds then began experimenting with Boondocking. It didn’t take us long to decide we loved being in the RV and we felt more at home there than in our House.
We travel full-time on the road with our mixed breed Border Aussie SKYE who loves the Adventure of new places and making new friends.

Make sure you have rodent/insect coverage and what the maximum it will cover. Rodent damage can be very extensive and costly, I know this first hand unfortunately.

I second using an autobody shop for repairs. When I had a fuel pump guard jump out as i was pulling away from the pump, my insurance company recommended an autobody shop. They did a great job and buffed the entire exterior as a bonus. One other point, remain calm when you deal with the other driver and the folks on the other end of the phone with the insurance company. Tuff at times but take a breath or a few. Good luck with the new RV and roam on.

Thanks, very good input also. We were surprised to find that there are Repair Shops who specialize in this type of work. Happily surprised to find the shop we did.

Again, great information! Thank you for your service! (I know I'm watching this much later) My dad is 94 years old and a veteran of the Korean War. He was a medic and tells us stories of going through the Panama Canal with his truck. He and three of his brothers were serving at the same time! They all made it home safe. Waiting for snow in Wisconsin today...and watching your videos!

Just found your channel a couple weeks ago and been binge watching to catch up. Just want to say I love your content and the way you do your videos. I follow about 15 full time channels and you rank right up there with any of them. My wife and I retired 2 years ago and bought a 2020 Jayco Greyhawk class C. Not full timers (at least not yet). I will be following and watching you continue to grow.

You should really add a dual front and rear Dash Cam in your truck. It would have probably captured the accident from the rear camera. I use the VIOFO A129 Pro Duo 4K Dual Dash Cam in my truck.

Youi are right to ask questions when buying RV insurance. I've heard from a couple people who explained to an agent exactly what they were looking for, and were told "No problem, we can do that!" In both cases, when they went to sign the paperwork, they started asking specific coverage questions, only to discover that the insurance agent had _NO IDEA_ what they where trying to buy, and was only selling them what amounted to motor vehicle insurance. Full timer's insurance should include anything and everything you would expect out of a homeowner's policy AND what you would expect out of an automotive policy.
@RoamingwiththeRamsays
@RoamingwiththeRamsays 2 года назад
We agree completely. Making sure you are getting what you think you are getting is very important. It is in essence a home owners policy.

One thing I would add is to make sure YOU have the witness info. Someone hit us about a year ago and had a witness give us their info so we gave it to the police. Fast forward a couple weeks and the other driver changed their story when they talked to their insurance company. Our insurance company asked for the witness information, which unfortunately, we didn’t have because we gave it to the police.
@RoamingwiththeRamsays
@RoamingwiththeRamsays 2 года назад
Good point Jeb. Thought we covered that but we may have missed it. We did have a witness who stopped and talked to the other driver then us, plus he saw it happen as it happened. We did collect his contact information. We offered it to the police but surprisingly they didn't want it. Said the other driver admitted to it and he had it all on his bodycam. In the end the witness became a subscriber to our channel.

Outstanding insight. I hope I'll never need to reference any of this with our new RV. I've been lucky to have had excellent insurance when I had my accident almost 3 years ago and my payoff was also quite impressive. Unfortunately the medical side continues to be a absolute nightmare. This would be something I strongly urge everyone to look into, and don't forget your pets. A mistake in medical coverage and medical attention would have paid for a very nice RV and might include a tow vehicle by the time we're done. Luckily the 2 dogs that were with me survived without injury. Still working on finding solutions for me.
@RoamingwiththeRamsays
@RoamingwiththeRamsays 2 года назад
Sorry to hear this problem for you. We were told the other drivers coverage for medical went up to 300k which seems small considering the cost of Healthcare. Glad your two dogs 🐕 are fine. Hope it all works out for you soon.

Your very kind. Bob and Zoe say thanks. It's interesting and fun traveling with 5 dogs. I'm confident that my quality of life will return to normal given time and patience. Just waiting for a few tests that should identify the injury, it's location and severity, then we go into attack formation and kick some neurological butt. Hopefully before rv season begins. Big plans for Yellowstone in May. Thanks much guys.

Ive just recently become a subscriber of yours. I really appreciate the great information you two put out that is quite helpful. I (my wife and I) are in the early stages of rv life. My question is why didn’t you stay with the Keystone brand? PS-keep those videos coming.

Not really. The truth I think everyone who full times or spends a decent amount of time researching learns is your going to have trouble no matter what brand you buy. You will learn that fixing stuff is a new normal, and hope that the stuff stays simple enough for you to fix. Or you can pay someone to fix stuff for you. Sometimes waiting for the dealership to get you into the rotation just doesn't work so going somewhere and paying to have it done may be best. Most shops charge $150/hour for labor. Many things can be fixed by yourself just find a good RU-vid channel that can show you how to fix it. One of my go to channels is My RV Works. Hope this answer helps, got a little wordy on ya.
