Wow, these guys have really stepped up their game, a lathe with internal drive, a mill, a torque wrench, I even saw somebody wear closed work boots instead of sandals.

Thank you for this video. Even if we don't speak the same language, there are so many things we have in common. The love of things mechanical, repairing broken items, a "gearhead" is a gearhead even if in the US or Pakistan.

Back in the *80's I worked in a garage with one Iranian and 1 Afghan mechanic. Those guys were amazing. Capable, competent, they loved to laugh and were impossible to rattle. I learned a lot from them at a young age and it served me well.

I grew up on a farm here in the US and relate so well to how these guys are working that the language barrier is almost not an issue. If something breaks down in the field you fix it the old way.

A lot of Goobers on here saying this is being done incorrectly, yet don't make videos of their own in a non third world setting. Regardless, these men clearly do fantastic work.

There's something very down to earth when engine rebuild workshops are normally as clean as a hospital being worked in with gloves and all the specialized tools, and then seeing these fine folk just tinker on the dusty floor and use whatever is at their disposal.

As a diesel mechanic for 35 years, I would be honored to work beside ya'll.

Grand job, reminds me of when I was a young mechanic 50 years ago, when we did everything.

Hey guys, I love watching your videos. It always amazing to see how you guys tear apart and rebuild things with minimal tools involved. You do have some great machine as well which makes it even better.

And we go to college to learn this shit and still come short after spending a fortune in tuition fees. As they say, best teacher is “the street”!! Doff my hat to these guys!

I'm speechless. I'm normally the first person to point out an error but it was pretty much brilliant. Perhaps clean out the swarf from the head after cutting the seats, using plasti-gauge and bolting down the journals and end caps for clearance and end float, but the paper thing looked sceptical, the piston liners sliding up and down freaked me out. You normally have to freeze them to slip them in. But I'm amazed.....this was budget engineering that really worked. 9.5/10 because safety first as I want to see more of their videos wit hall fingers and toes intact. Oh by the way the brown stuff that was either side of the gasket is the legendry Wellseal by a company called Stag (or Similar). Its a non setting jointing compound that is very high temperature and has a distinct new engine smell about it. Brilliant. I love it.

Awesome! We used to rebuilt older marine engines with my grandfather back in the day. Great experience and plenty of knowledge for the future to work on locomotive engines 👍

Pakistani Technicians are second to none. They are the best and most resourceful. They accomplished their jobs with less tools and no complaints.

I was a little surprised to see a rather crude reboring of the cylinders but then realised it was 'Sleeve And Piston' job. The engine head was beautifully resurfaced and the valve seating done to perfection manually. Well done boys. Good wishes and blessings from Bengaluru India.

Great video! Even with the difficult conditions these rebuilders are doing a better job than you can get from some rebuilders in the US. I suspect they stay in business because the engines they work on keep on running. Thumbs up!

I saw piston pushing up a sleve when cranked, hope there was no damage. Loved that crankshaft part, hand grinding with the help of fan belt, brilliant. Bless you lads.

I worked in a two person garage growing up as a helper in the 50's and it was pretty much this way of working. We would align wheels with string and chalk. Brings back a lot of memories.

Those are real mechanics,they don´t have every tool man invented,they do the job with what they have,really impressive.

and, down on the dirt..... I love these videos, I love the ingenuity with the basic of tools. For a second there, I thought I was going to see them radius the bearing seating surfaces. Are the heads supposed to move around like that while re-milling the valve seats? They lap the valves though! Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed watching them rebuild the top end more that the B-Roll of the Nissan GTR engine build in Japan.

I really hope that head was cleaned before final assembly. From what I've seen, it's done very similar in all parts of the world. Great video as always. Cheers :)

Always impressive. It would be interesting to see a short profile on each person as to their role and background/training how they became a mechanic.

I'm usually impressed by the results they get with their rudimentary tools and working conditions but there was no excuse for reusing that heavily damaged camshaft!

Czekam tylko kiedy Europa będzie miała duży problem z elektrykami i ich utylizacja a te stare diesle to niezawodna prosta konstrukcja która przetrwa te wszystkie elektryki które nie wykonają pracy w połowie co te stare spalinowe silniki. Brawo dla was chłopaki macie pojęcie o tym co robicie i nie przestawajcie naprawiać tego co dobre.

I was very very happy when the engine started, good job, with machining of Cyl Block and head, polishing the crankshaft and fitting of Crankpin and main shell bearings, valve grinding, assembly of Camshaft, rocker arms, tappet setting etc.

I love the co-operation and teamwork.
