Hey guys! Hope you all enjoy this video I put together featuring Kyle from Dbdpet's sugar gliders! We got some funny clips we felt were youtube material lol! Check out our new video! • WHATS IN THE LAKE
sugar gliders are super loyal and amazing animals, but I think people underestimate how much constant attention they need and forget they are nocturnal, preferring to be active and noisy at night. They are very reliant on being social and when depressed from lack of interaction or other reasons will self-mutilate and harm themselves. These are NOT cage animals... please do your homework before buying one
They do well in a cage but need a lot of attention. Ours LOVE being out with us. They don’t care what we do, they’ve been to a burnout competition, drag races, a hanger, off roading, on countless road tripe’s (they love car rides). They go to the store with us to!
MrDan2454 I have a hedgehog and they are nocturnal animals as well. My friends always want to see him so I have to explain to them that he’s nocturnal. I don’t know why it’s so hard for some people to understand. Although I understand if you want to spend time with your animal but need some sleep but you shouldn’t do it often. It could stress them out which makes them less social overall and more vulnerable to common diseases. I’m just speaking from my experiences. Pls don’t come for me. Lol
I’ve done my research while debating on if I should get a hedgehog or sugar glider (hedgehog won). Sugar gliders do fine in cages as long as it is the minimum or above. The minimum size is 24 inches deep by 24 inches wide by 37 inches tall and the space between the wires should be 1/2 inch or less. I think. The minimum is quite small in my opinion. I would recommend getting a large cage for them. These are not lazy animals and love to play.
never ever, EVER, get sugar gliders if you A) don't have time to play and handle them each day B) aren't responsible enough to take care of them and play/handle them every day the sad yet true reality is sugar gliders are bought because of how cute they are, then returned or abandoned in the matter of a couple days or weeks, and the pet stores can only take so many returns and some breeders won't take them back so the glider might be put down only because no one wants them. They will only be trained if YOU train them, if they are already trained then they are attached to their trainer. So please don't get one if you can't handle if often, please.
While they rarely need to go to the vet, 99.9% of vets do not know how to handle gliders. If you get one, let your vet get to know them and do research before they get sick. Many sicknesses result in a quick death because they're so sensitive.
Need and advice,i bought a pair of sugar glider, because i know they have depression problem, but i taming them is kinda hard because they bite,i cant even cut the nail
Fucking killing animals because people don't want them... sickening, leave them wild and quit being fucking selfish if you're not going to take care of one. People are assholes
"They can only glide short distances". So you're telling me my Sugar Glider-powered Flying Fortress of World Domination will be limited to short-range tactical sorties? Fine. I'll make it work, one highly-localised bombardment of cuteness at a time.
They're fun pets. If you raise them as babies they develope a personality catered around you. A social animal they require a lot of attention and they're nocturnal.
Glad you apologized for this. I was just like, "The guy he's talking to keeps _Sugar Gliders_, and he thinks he's weird for naming them after rhyming Greek letters??"
Glad you learned something new from the video :). And they are called Sugar Gliders because they have loose skin that allows them to "glide" when they jump, and "sugar" comes from the fruits they eat in the wild!
There was a carnie at the State fair last year selling these for $1500 ea and they were in poor condition and in over crowded unkept cages. so sad, animal control shut the guy down a few days into the fair and rescued all of them though.
GhidoFan023 actualy throwing a big animal would be dangerous ,not small ones😁 once i had a baby chick that jumped from 3 story building roof, he was completely fine, and he grew up to be a strong nice rooster😁 -and no,i didnt throw him,i love animals.
Around the world, the sugar glider is popular as an exotic pet. It is also one of the most commonly traded wild animals in the illegal pet trade, where animals are taken directly from their natural habitats. I live in Australia ( where most come from) and we cant keep them as pets because its not good for them.. why do you keep them ?
Sci Westwood Us sugar gliders are captive bred. They wouldn't survive in the wild. They were LEGALLY imported from other countries that caught wild ones and started breeding them in captivity (I believe Indonesia and one other place). They have been bred in the US for decades, in captivity and actually live longer than in the wild because we've (the sugar glider owner/breeder/vendor community) continued to do studies on appropriate care and diets. Sugar gliders in the wild live about 5 years versus up to 15 years in captivity. So we must be doing something right!
Mr. meme Bet you listen to mumble rap and shit. Just cause someone likes music in another language, doesn’t mean you should tell them to take their own life. Sorry, you’re being an immature shit.
Only glider brokers like pockets pets, calls them "sugar bears"... Or people who bought them from places like them.... Brokers, mills, back yard breeders. Yes I know Pocket Pets is USDA licensed but look up the requirements to get a USDA license. They are very low, sadly. They don't care about lineage, only require cages big enough for the Gliders to be able to stand up and turn around, don't require staple diets, etc. If a breeder is worth a crap they go way above and beyond those requirements!
Shouldn't you have a pair of them instead of one? I think it's to do with them being social creatures and dying of loneliness like hamsters if they are alone.
Pistachi0 Serendipity Yeah but all over the internet it says that you should have at LEAST two. Because you can’t be with them 24/7 and you can’t technically groom them either. I’m not trying to start a fight. I have two of them Yoshi and Rose.
this is such a wonderful video!! thanks for sharing!! Your new creatures are so cute!!! PS:did not they scratch / tickle you when they claimed your arms???))))
I live in Australia and have a family of these little buggers in the roof. For their size they are damn noisy and they love to chase each other around, small bloody elephants on a tin roof. But I would never ever think of trying to get rid of them.
I used to have a S'glider..... while i was at school one of my idiot brothers let him out of his house and left the bathroom open, and the toilet seat up 😒 i miss mr. Peanuts 😢
