So nice when someone humbly asks. The drive was already closed so I gave to CWU. Please feel free to ask a little more often and for the whole Geology department. Thanks!
Nick, one of your strengths is to highlight the unknowns, the holes in our knowledge and theories about geology. Here is an opportunity for our community to help and encourage those who will answer those questions in the future. I invite those who, like me, last year donated to the GEOL 210 fund, to make that an annual gift (there was a link for that option back in the day), and further to make a gift on the web portal displayed in this video. By making a donation we can help repay the debt we owe Nick for our education and entertainment over the years, but also honor our favorite geologist's dedication and vision to build the CWU geology dept.
As a retired geologist, I am very happy to support the geology department students, and I did so by contributing to your field course funding. However, ever since I did that, I've been getting emails from CWU in general asking for money. I did not, and do not, appreciate that. I'm not an alum. I'm not here to support "the university". If there is a way you could ensure that your geology fund raising activities do not land me on the university fund raising lists, I would gladly contribute again in the future.
Should add a button to be able to donate to both funds at the same time. But I just went in and did two separate donations to each fund. Great job and purpose!
Retired geologist that love your 8nformative youtubes. Glad to support future geologists, especially, field camp. I contribute to both. Thanks for making this easy.
Nick a friend of my brother got his associate degree in geology and could never find a job that he could live on. He did find a job in computers. His first traveling assignment was to Sun City South Africa and his second assignment was Perth Australia. He did enjoy going to both of those places a lot.
Wonderful idea and setup. I donated back in December and the only option I could see that came close to applying, was the Dean of Sciences scholarship fund. I like this option much better. Would love to see a third option to support the 210 class.
Just a thought: if the department and the university, and the soon 100K subscribers, were OK with funnelling youtube ad-revenue into the funds for the geology program, that might be something to consider. I’m guessing most of us who watch these videos in replay would be OK with seeing an occasional ad (perhaps ask us in a poll on the community tab) if the proceeds would go to educating the next generation of Ned Zingers. 😊
Hey Nick, As previously suggested, it'd be nice to split the donation. Just sayin'. And please keep us informed of the tally towards the goal. Thx for the opportunity to help. Ya'll do good. PS Love the promo video, good team effort.
If you would like to help geology students at CWU with their financial aspects, the geology department set up the easiest ways to do so! If you have the means and are interested in supporting the future of geology at CWU, this video is worth watching!😏💞💗✨
