Braxton Family Values is back James & crisean Face tattoos Travis Kelcy with the fade His response Sukianna saying she’s not a musician Monique club Shay Shay Interview
What Shannon Does…….. is Allow his guests to speak THEIR Truth! He has a conversation with his guests, his show is not to “hold” his guests to the”fire” that’s why his show is successful!
As a black woman in corporate America that specializes in code switching we aren’t received the same because of the stigma that we in general are aggressive.
There's a difference. He's not stereotyping all woman as that, while ppl ARE stereotyping when they say sassy or zesty etc. He said exactly WHO he was speaking about and then said some of yall. He was specific. You're looking to be offended or you wouldn't hv written this. That's why I personally always listen atleast twice to something that I think truly offends me to the core. I find most of the time that I hear it differently the second time around. He didn't say all black women are nice-nasty. There's the difference.
You even said it in your comment..a group. If you're not in that group it shouldn't offend you. If you are in that group, it's not stereotyping it's just true.
Y’all quick to say that Quentin talks bad about blk women. He’s an equal opportunity shit talker, and is always specific about who it’s directed towards. And also overlooking the fact that he advocates for blk women as well. Speak truth to facts instead of being easily offended because you choose to misunderstand him because of who he is.
I have one thing I wanna say to you. As a 49yr old FAT BLACK WOMAN, I’ve experienced EVERYTHING that Monique has. It’s sad that people ALWAYS find some kinda way to find FAULT in EVERYTHING we say🤨 So now that it’s known that what Monique said was TRUE, NOW she’s LOUD. Why? Because she’s outspoken? Because she spoke her TRUTH? Why did she need to speak up for herself in TEARS? Why must she HUMBLE herself to people who are doing HER WRONG? Dineva that’s not fair! Did your mom/aunt speak in a soft tearful voice when she demanded respect from her employer? Or did she stand on her 2 good feet and SPEAK UP FOR-HERSELF WITH AUTHORITY?! Why does she have to move LIKE Taraji? Taraji is Taraji and Monique has the RIGHT to be MONIQUE.
When Monique said they not about to see her crying or broken I felt that. I get that often. She should speak with conviction and certainty because this is her truth. She’s done nothing wrong. And as far as she’s still complaining ..so what? Her wrongs have not been made right and others are now speaking up. So when will these inequalities be remedied?
Monique can't have it both ways. 1. She said she fulfilled her contract in one breath, then say THEY OWN HER MORE MONEY. 2. You can't be rude then wants everyone to listen to you. 3. You can't say that yes I was being difficult on sets, BUT PEOPLE IS LYING SAYING I AM HARD TO WORK WITH. 4. You can't say someone who has worked with you and says you are difficult to work with are spreading rumor. THEY ARE SPREADING RUMORS? IT IS THERE EXPERIENCE WHILE WORKING WITH YOU. 5. AT SOME POINT MONIQUE HAS TO TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE PARTS SHE PLAYS IN THIS.
I seriously wish Q stfu about black women cuz he has absolutely no idea. There was nothing is Mo's delivery that gave she was rude or demanded anything. There's a difference in being stern & being rude. Mo was being stern but of course these soft a** men will always say our delivery is rude when we don't cry about it
As a 45 year old BW, I have worked 22 years in mass public service. A LOT of us have funky chips on our shoulders. Rude, pissy, asshats. A lot. It's hard to NOT compare when this is the only group that routinely and categorically act like brute bitter snarky b1tches and DEMAND "ruspeckkkkk"! Feral is the term that comes to mind. Look around.
I'm here for Monique and the way she expressed her experience. I remember you saying " you can't hurt me and tell me how to respond ". This is her response to her experience..
Yes our ancestors paved the way for they assess to even come over here, and they have the nerve...yes! All of what you just said is so damn true. I have been saying the same thing. This discussion needs to be had.
Funky , that mentality that everyone has to play the game is why the game won’t change. Not enough people have the balls to stop playing so the game can change and that’s Mo’s whole point. No body has a back bone. Nobody is willing to stand up for themselves or others . The game is nasty and it don’t have to be. The game ain’t working for black people and to tell black women to take the scraps and just go is sad and why Mo is upset. Only a few have the leadership quality to take the bullets to free the rest and she’s willing to be that person

So, the problem is that Mo’Nique named names, but when Christian Keyes wouldn’t name names everybody was made at him for not telling. Like, what are the prerequisites for getting the goal posts moved as to what information is allowed and what isn’t? 🤨
You can't do wrong and tell a mofo how mad to get- Funky Dineva. You can't tell Monique how mad to get. Not going to let anyone spit in my face and lie on me and I politely tell the world about it. No. The guns blazing was simply the truth. People don't like the truth. She was NOT nasty, she was eloquent when interviewed by Steve Harvey. She spoke against the gatekeepers and they got mad because she refused to bow down.
Right, and I don’t get where they keep saying it was her delivery. I haven’t seen her yell at or curse anybody out she’s just confident in her truth, and not going to bow down to anyone
Strong black women who don’t cry always get looked as having an attitude but if it were a MAN “he’s standing up”. I cannot stand the double standard. We stand on business too ! Don’t care how it’s received
Where are you drawing this conclusion from? Not crying is far from yelling, cussing, throwing one's neck in a circle, and just being uncouthed. Most people are more comfortable with a person who doesn't cry than with one who does.
@cjones8213 OK but who said she was cussing, yelling & rolling her neck tho? That's how yall perceive it cuz that's exactly how most view black women. Contrary to how most of you think, we can get our point across without the cussing, yelling & rolling our necks
@@onnabugeisha2841 when Monique said it got "crazy" when she was speaking about DL, what do you think she meant? When Monique said she'll meet you where you are, what do you think she meant? She is known for doing all I mentioned above....and then some.
@@cjones8213 But it doesn’t mean it started with that. U definitely gonna get attitude AFTER u done played with me & my name after I came to u like an adult & wanted to talk about it & try to work it out. Mo been in this business for years & nothing has ever came out about her being difficult until after Precious & working with Lee & Oprah so they need to stop the bs & quit playing with that lady
Lmao Tf you on about? That Oscar was from 2010. Do you know how goofy you sound? Denzel has 2 & he’s not always mentioned as “Oscar winning actor”. Walt Disney has 22, never introduced as “Oscar winning”. There are SO many actors & actresses who win an Oscar & never work again….but Monique’s Oscar from 14 years ago should carry all this power? Foh 😂The “Oscar curse” is a thing for a reason
Funky, im with you when you’re right, but imma read you when you wrong. Now you’re saying that Taraji garnered more sympathy because she basically went the “white lady route” and got more attention. Yet you left Fox Soul and read them for blood. Albeit, you were somewhat coy. But you named names, you stated your case of unfairness about pay. And you did it on a platform. How is that so different from Monique??
Funky did it and realized his power. Monique is still trying to be successful in the traditional sense. She could front the money for her own platform but the truth is, her husband can’t bring in the income so it’s on her to beg for work to support them. She could’ve built a platform by now.
@@Cosmoshaircoand the person making money in her family is none of your business....the question still stands, why is Monique complaining and voicing out her grievances different from when Funky did or others did?
The difference is Funky when Funky didn’t feel fairly paid by his job he left, gave the reasoning, didn’t trash Fox, and moved on. Monique refuses to move on and creates more reason for studios to not want to work with her, regardless of what Lee, Oprah, or Tyler may have said behind her back. She’s proving them right.
I would love for Mo'Nique to say, "Yes that happened. But I've been talking about that for years. I'm focused on some new things now. I'm producing this. I'm working on that. Check out my project this spring on my new podcast..." or whatever. She will never get that apology or $10 million. You gotta keep going. Move forward. That's the best revenge.
Exactly! This lady hasn't done anything for herself since ,meanwhile, other female comedians ,who have had less past success than her, are killing it, eg, Smore. All she wants to do is complain instead of create work , new opportunities, and avenues for herself.
Earlier today, I overheard a white man say he ain't took a shower in a few days because it's too cold by the time he gets off work 🙄 He really was smelling like a bunch of funky people 🤢
Funky, you hit the nail straight on the head!! When Mo started a beef with DL over who was headlining and then crossed the line to his family, she lost my respect. I will not watch the Club Shay Shay interview because of that. Thanks for covering it and being honest!!! Love you Funky, keep speaking truth!! Mo is just too bitter for me. Especially for a comedian.
Imagine telling Mo’Nique she was too loud with her truth. Soooooo we won’t discuss how these public entities PURPOSELY Blackballed her?? We’re just going to make HER the wrong party? That’s bizarre to me.
I agree ! Deep down I don’t like funky for bashing Monique like this 😂 she not loud are just passionate & wants fairness ! FUNKY NEED TO SUCK a D for this
Whoever created the contract had nothing to do with DL, yet she took it out on him. She was wrong for that & went too far. And realistically DL is more mainstream than Monique so he is likely gonna be the one chosen to close or headline over her
@@summerrain6125That’s not what happened. DL counts on his supposed mainstream appeal and everyone not getting the facts straight. I wish Mo’Nique had gone more in depth about the contract dispute like she did with a smaller CC I won’t mention here. Shannon said they would come back to it, but they never did.
As an African living in the US I can tell you it’s not true. Well let me say,as a South African. Because different African countries have their own views on AA’s and I can assure you that the South Africans aren’t taught that. Also, I personally don’t like the ‘African accent’ that we’re always accused of having or that’s imitated of us. Not all of us speak that way just like how AA’s have different dialect depending on where in the US they’re from.
@@officialsihleGirl bye! I haven't met one African that doesn't think they're not better or smarter than EVERY Black American they come across. You may not be that way but 9/10 Africans are! Everyone wouldn't be in here agreeing if that wasn't the majority experience! Fix y'all continent for your own ppl instead of coming over here with the ignorance, it's not welcomed or wanted!
@@officialsihle yada yada boom basta we know your the good ones we were not talking about you. We are only referring to the ones you do know who are now stop it. Shots were fired 😂 and as an immigrant I got hit 🙋🏾♀️💀 but you’re speaking the truth funky. The discrimination is real, took me going to an HBCU to stop being so ignorant about the African American experience. I’m sorry for the negative experiences 😢
The only reason yall able to pull that 💩 is because most Black Americans havent been to Africa to see how yall really live. Having been to several African countries I know that yall have no standing to jusge anyone given how most of the people live. Its funny tho that yall will down on blacks but dont hesitate to suck up any resources we have, i.e., matriculating at an HBCU.
I'm sick of Monique. Taraji signed the contract. If she had a problem with pay, she should check with her managers and/or agents. We never hear from Monique until she is given an opportunity to continue her beef with Oprah, Tyler, and Lee.
@@summerrain6125I'm not even being funny, can you link some examples of her not being calm outside of a comedy skit? I've only ever seen her speak calmly but passionately about her issues, maybe I missed it?
OMGoodness Q!!!! I so enjoyed your commentary.......especially about the Africans, Caribbeans and other blacks coming to America............I'm still cracking up!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Q AKA FUNKY UNFILTERED AND I LOVE IT! As a black woman I 100% agree with the Monique and Taraji comparison/ situation. And as a black woman who has a tone sometimes, I 100% with you. As they say "You can catch more flies with honey" We ALL have to learn to soften the delivery up sometimes... Not ALL the time, but most times we need to. Now sometimes a harsh tone is warranted. But Monique was ill the way she went at them people. She needs to let to go now.
I appreciate Monique for always being consistent and her story never has changed in all the years that this has been going on. Millions of dollars lost and she continues to stay consistent. Hate it or love it and I love Auntie Mo’nique !
But what is the solution tho? What does she want? She got the Netflix special and it flopped. She tried to do comedy shows on the road and the venues were empty. When are we going to realize she is not living up to her part and delivering the actual talent.
Preach Funky! I love it! Our tone is so off-putting, and we do it with our little babies, our toddlers, preschoolers, teenagers, boyfriends, husbands, and employers. We need to correct. Period.
Q, you are shutting it down with the black race discussion. It is sooo true and sad. I only have 1 disagreement, it IS the Haitians too. No shade, just tea. I was born in the Bahamas to a Jamaican mother and a Bahamian father. I am married to a Haitian man and we have 3 kids. My black Caribbean relatives and friends as well as my black American friends and myself have this discussion often. Some Haitian women especially don’t like Haitian men being with other women from other Caribbean countries. My husband got into an argument with another Haitian man and the wife chimed in and said to my husband “that’s why your children are mixed!” 😲🤔What?? I will be so happy when we come together as black people and I mean ALL BLACK PEOPLE-Black African, Black American, Black Caribbean, and Black Latino and support and love each other. Do you know how powerful we will be as a people?!
Q, I agree with you on the Monique conversation! I'm tired of her rehashing these same topics!!! She's never going to resolve her issues with Oprah & Tyler; the fact she continues to get on stage and disrespect them says she's not really interested in it & just talking because it gets her attention!!! That diaspora conversation was on point. We've all seen the behavior!!!
I just about did a praise dance 💃🏽! I’m a black woman and I AGREE! The victim mentality is getting outta control to the point accountability is now a nonfactor . It’s getting tired and old ladies . 😒
U were wrong about Monique being loud in the beginning she was the opposite. We had no idea there were issues about pay during the press tour. Her being QUIET in the beginning lead to the movie being a hit an it earned her an Oscar. Unlike Taraji she shared her grievances during the press tour n possibly torpedoed the movie. Alot of ppl didnt go bc of those issues. Monique got loud when she was blackballed. Like u say u can't do something to a b%tch n tell them how mad to get. U would be loud too if ur livelihood was greatly impacted. When u made a video about leaving fox soul it was classy based. It wasnt until they pushed u...u got LOUD n named names
@@PuppetMaster918 Oh okay. I still say that he went about it wrong because when you quit a job you never show them that you are bothered. Now some viewers complain that he is inconsistent with the videos now because they expect him a video every time TEAGIF airs when he already said he didn't really like "routine".
Funky!!!! The way tears SHOT out my eyes when you said the young girls only know how to “ bend it over let that puss breathe, eat hot Cheetos n charge their phones!” 😂😂😂😂. I wasted time putting concealer under my dark eyes today cus I’m crying n it’s all gone. I’m just gonna put some shades on for the day! I freaking LOVE you!!!! Thanks for the joy you bring❤️🙏🏾
And this is why she's black balled. Sis should've moved in silence till the time was right. That way when she came swinging it would've hit hard like Cassie's case
Nope. Mo’Nique wanted to be treated like Meryl Streep when she wasn’t even Rosie O’Donnell. When will she own the fact that EVERYONE had to pay for their own wardrobe and travel during promo? See y’all are ok with all that but you still want people kissing Mo’Nique’s ass because she’s right on SOME points. Smfh
I just glanced over at your subscriber count. When I started watching your channel you were in the 100ks. Look at how much your channel has grown. I’m real happy for you Q, because I really fks with your perspective.
DL Hughley, why? You went overboard. Monique has the right to speak her piece. This is the problem. When you speak about what you experienced, it is labeled as 'complaining.' She was treated unfairly and it affected her and her family.
She went overboard drudging up his daughter's assault when she created that psycho beef with DL. Idk if she or her fans ever acknowledged that part. She can be right about Hollywood being trash and also be trash herself. Sometimes she's an a-hole.
@@michellehill3938 I seen that interview he didn’t cuss no one out, he didn’t tell no one to shd. He said his piece calmly and left! he also didn’t come back and bomb his special 🤷♀️
I think people need to watch the whole video. Remember, Q always mentions how a person responds. She has a recording of Tyler Perry admitting to spreading a rumor of Monique being difficult. I enjoyed the sit down
That is a lie. First of all, Monique being difficult is not a rumor it is a fact...and the proof is all over RU-vid if people bother to look. Secondly, Tyler never "admitted" to spreading a rumor about Monique, he spoke honestly about sharing with others the difficulty he had navigating between the production, the studio and her when she demanded to be paid to promote the movie.
@@carolynjones6485She wasn't. What happened after filming Precious she politely decline to promote in Cannes, France. Just look at the whole interview on club shay shay. She said No she wanted to spend time with her family because her kids were toddlers then. Now everyone was saying she was difficult all because she said No
I’m what way did DL clear Monique … The first 30 seconds he calls her a liar then jumps instantly into pulling the segment. So everything she mentioned before that happened and you just want accountability for pulling the segment … everything said after is irrelevant. The entire Mo’nique take was a huge L take
I feel like a lot of y'all misunderstand funky he really liked women and hang around women and he hear conversations and he feel the need to critique us,and he don't mean no harm as I've been noticing over the years. He spazz out every now and then but he always apologize
See, now I'm going to have to go back and watch the old Mo'Nique videos where she was talking about the pay discrepancy. I don't remember her coming off as loud with guns "a blazing." She's loud and abrasive on stage, but I only recall her being in interviews as composed and fairly soft-spoken with "babies" this and "babies" that.
She was never loud. People actually got loud with her. Steve Harvey was yelling in her face and she remained calm. People just simply don't like Monique.
Right! She was never loud or abrasive when speaking on this subject. She was softly spoken yet consistent and never wavered on what she believed to be true and right. But because she didn’t shed a tear she’s deemed loud and abrasive.
Monique was articulately speaking about what was done to her then got disrespectful... she didnt need to cry... both responses are valid- Monique wants the wrong to be acknowledged and taken responsibility for... I never saw her say the stuff DL said either... he muddled facts that were presented... Mo spoke about being bi before, I thought...
He called her a liar while lying. He didn't believe his daughter when she said his friend molested her . ANDDDD he spoke about it on the radio first. monique brought it back to the plublic and he ran with that like she was the one who brought it to the public eye when it was him. He muddled quite a few facts. Your are def right.
I can relate and am not offended cause you called a thing a thing. Many people in my own family always spoke ill of Americans period, especially of Black Americans though they come to America and make babies here! If they say it to their own offspring, they gonna say it about everyone else! I love you still Funky! 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Funky, can I holla at Nessa for a minute?..Guuurl I can NOT believe that Monique has been telling her truth for YEARS, and some people STILL don't get it!! People LIED about Monique, ruined her reputation, tried to pay her pennies for her resume, caused her family to experience hardship, etc. and SHE gets flack for speaking on it the way she sees fit??? Anybody honest with themselves would go hard and be loud too if somebody treated them the same way!THIS is precisely WHY she continues to speak out..the injustice she continues to experience is beyond next level..there's so much more that can be said, but I'll just have a seat in the pew as a continued Monique supporter..I GET her, always have and always will..nah here go my 5 lollas fuh da plate..😅
If Evelyn braxton come back talking about how mad and bitter she is towards daddy braxton I'm not watching it. And why yall decided to do the show and now Traci not here. She was the main one wanted to do the show
I agree cause Evelyn was so bitter. They all mistreated Tracy even her own mother. They made her feel like she wasn’t good enough. She was close to her daddy and didn’t turn her back on her daddy when everybody else did.
@@tamekaevans2923I feel like that’s why they treated her like that cuz she didn’t carry her mothers bitterness towards the dad like everyone else did. And she was cool with his new wife.
I'm Caribbean and we do hear alot of bad stuff from other immigrants about black Americans....im not offended by the read 😅😅😅😅....something we need to work on
How did you Black Americans end up in the Americas??? The Whites brought you here via kidnapping. So, you're transplants...other blacks do not come to the USA because of You. That's an emotional non factual statement. Do you know how much money the US government makes from African immigration and tourism? Go get informed. The Anglo- Saxxons in this country Allow other Blacks in because it benefits them. African immigrants spend thousands on education. You Blacks have no say / no power to let anyone in or out of this country, Ok. Let's get the Facts, straight....
