My new Wildcat BT came from factory producing 10.5 ft/lbs on setting 7 of the power wheel with 15.89gr pellets and I couldn't be arsed with the hassle of sending it back so this video is absolute GOLD for me. Thanks from a new subscriber!
What a superb video. I have new FX Maverick that has inconsistent accuracy. It's going back ti the RFD. When it's returned if it's not sorted I'll replace the regs myself.
Good idea, another thing to check is try the rifle without the cheek piece installed, on some rifles the mag hits the cheek piece and causes mis-alignment of the mag and barrel, damaging the pellets as they enter the barrel. Just another thing to double check. Thanks for watching.
@@sub12airgunners Hi Thanks for your prompt reply. If I don't get a satisfactory solution from my RFD and the distributor, do I need to replace the regs or just strip them and reinstall . If I need to purchase new regs where can I obtain them? Do you have an on line shop? Many thanks.
@@jonpear2560 I have the same problem w my Maverick. I just got it back and was shooting it yesterday. it was shooting great but after a couple hundred shots I started getting up to 30fps spreads. This video was just what I was looking for, probably going to have to do this. It took three weeks to get it repaired last time so will be doing it myself.
Cool video Jeff... is there a new style of cheek piece coming out!!!..where did you get those pressure gauges and it looks like a new style of cocking lever.
Hi, supposedly a cheek piece that has the proper cutout for the mag, the current one hits the magazine. The gauges are from ali express, link below, and the cocking handle is one we make, and is available on eBay from bagnall and kirkwood. www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002053621959.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.2c247cf2FLtcnK&algo_pvid=aefacfc8-529d-4756-ac03-f5c1b4bcebee&algo_expid=aefacfc8-529d-4756-ac03-f5c1b4bcebee-0&btsid=2100bb4716180077412505725ee5cf&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_
Great overview thank you. Are you able to answer a question please? I took my rear regulator out and when I put it back in it does not regulate anymore. I just get the front reg pressure on the rear gauge even when the rear is screwed mostly all the way in. Its like it just bypassing the rear reg. I don't have any air leaks and even bought a new reg and installed it but it still isn't regulating. Do you have any idea what it could be? Thank you
I still have the “ wrong” cheekpiece. Did modify a few magazines, ground and polished the sharp point. Works fine now. Like the Maverick. Have it now set on 50 J, my range limit. Get 200 + shots at 50 J with 20 gr Nielsen slugs. No need for me anymore to lug a big tank around. 😀. My Mk3 wildcat has the same setting and does 20 mm at 100 mtr. They are in .22. Hope the Maverick will do the same. Have not shot the Maverick at the range yet, cant waite to go......
good idea with the mags, hope fully the new cheek pieces will be available soon though, sounds like yours is shooting well though, very efficient. no range time yet but hopefully next week ill be going so lots of testing to do, not shot at a range for more than a year now so very excited. Thanks for watching.
@@sub12airgunners Had some problems. 2 bad superior.22 70 cm liners. Have now an” old” from last year pellet liner init. Have it retuned now, from 1st reg at 145 2st reg at 105 (factory setting) to 1st reg at 120 2st reg at 80 bar. And did the hammer adjustment thing, thanks for the how to, and the numbers are promising. As pellets do better than most slugs in this liner I have it set with the new tune now, the JSB 18.13 pellet at around 920 fps. That is around 47/48J. Now I have to wait for 2 weeks….range maintenance…..
Grate video, picked my maverick up last week , went back after 2 days with a leak and a zero shift issue , thought I’d use the warranty while it’s available, but if it comes back with the same issues this video will help me no end 👍🏼
The Mavericks are certainly not having a good launch, lots of problems and leaks, I guess it is leaking at the little joiner piece between the block and cylinder, that's a common area, I think they machined the O ring groove a little deep on the block and its causing some Mavericks to leak, I did put a bit of sealant around my one as a preemptive fix, I think I showed it in the vid near the beginning, but good luck, personally I don't think its a rifle I will be keeping hold of. Anyway Thanks for watching.
@@philnixon7168 Possibly, if you have to go down that route it may work with a very slightly over sized O-ring but if I is leaking from there I would recommend just a dab of loctite 545, its a pneumatic sealant and should do the job, although the choice is yours. Thanks for watching.
Great vid and thx for the answer on your other thread. Mine is shooting a bit low, how do i get it up a little bit in power, can i just screw the "powerplenum"-regulator out a little bit? Or do i have to go thru all this shown in the video..
once the anti tamper is out you should just be able to adjust the reg up a little, you may have to re adjust the hammer spring adjuster in the back to re balance things but just a little increase in reg pressure should get it to where you want it. Thanks for watching.
I have a question. I bought the huma reg for the maverick and the reg body does not fit the maverick and is the right part. I measure the amp reg body and is 10.7mm thick and the huma is 10.88mm. Why do you think than happens. The huma reg that I got is supposed to fit the maverick. Thank you for the info.
Hi. I have a problem with FX Maverick sniper. When the regulators are fully open, I have a maximum pressure value of 120 BAR. Why is it not possible to set a higher pressure value?
I changed to a HUma reg, and it did not work well for me ( not able to get flat strings ), changing back to FX it now leak to atmosphere, and even more strange both regulators now do that CUZ i tried to put the HUma one back in the gun. I simply do not get it. Also changed a few O-rings on the FX regulator but its still the same. Regulated pressure are fine no creep or bleed on that, just the damn leao out the overflow hole. Inclined to buy a complete new regulator, just they dont seem to sell anywhere in the EU where i can pay with creditcard.
On my Crown mk2 the transfer port adjuster became misaligned so that max power was between settings (FAC), I thought I had sorted it but now it will move slightly off its setting when I am doing a shot string over the chrono. Could you do a video on this part of the crown mk2 perhaps 👍
very informative video sir i have just bought a maverick and there is a leak on the 1st regulator , so can i assume that as per the video the leak can be adjusted by cleaning the adjuster screw to start with ?
Ashish, a caution in Mavericks purchased in India recently…. even if You have got that issue solved, take a pause, inspect all the O-rings thoroughly as they may be dry… Lube them and their seat, appropriately, Seat them, Assemble all back, fill air, take few shots (10-15 for .177), and let it settle for a day ~24hrs… De-gas next day, and refill, and check for any leaks at all in a 5hr window by noticing drop in pressure.
@@SoulSniped thanx durgesh , i have a few more queries regarding the regulator which is not been very consistent in delivering the required output and settling back quickly , can we connect
video of how too replace the first pressure gauge ie u put a digital gauge in how would love too see that as I would like too do the same also ur videos are very good
You can watch the dissasembly and reassembly maverick vids on the channel and you can see the procedure, its very easy to do though just undo the old gauges and put the new ones in, if you buy the digital ones make sure you get the BSP threads. Thanks for watching.
I sell reg pullers and valve seat removers on my Ebay shop link below. Thanks for watching www.ebay.co.uk/sch/geoffeve-7/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=
Can you just unscrew the bottle safely with air in it? :D damn im watching this many times and trying to learn along the way.. dual regs is a little tricky!
They put the prices up since this vid but link below. Great video, just got my maverick but my rear reg is positioned just slightly under the chassis how can it be moved so I can gain access to the adjuster
@@davidkelly212 on the Mavericks you have to loosen the cylinder clamps, and turn the cylinder itself, make sure the back cap is tight on the nut near the block and turn the cylinder round to where you want the reg. Thanks of watching.
Also, what causes the inconsistency? Worn O-Rings/dirty regulator? I noticed when I’m having the problem I can’t hear the air transfer after I pull the trigger. I hear after every shot I should hear the air transfer. Thanks for the information
you can sometimes use a biro pen to get it out, some of the pens have the right ID when you take out the ink tube. excessive grease in the Belleville washers can cause issues, also damaged o rings on the piston can make it a bit sticky in the reg housing, you should hear the reg refill after each shot if its not then the reg could be sticking. Thanks for watching.
hi , I bought an electronic gauges for my impact and I notice that the reg pressure rise up ate least 5 bar after fill the plenum, I take a shot let the pleanum fill anda check the pressure, 1 min later I check it again and its 5 bar higher, any idea how to solve this?
That's Reg creep, you may have to replace the delrin piston in the regulator, or it could be one of the O rings in the regulator, typically its one of the small o rings on the adjuster screw or the top of the reg piston is damaged and is causing you some creep. Thanks for watching.
@@sub12airgunners well thank you for replying, I watched a ernest video and i'm gonna polish the delrin piston and the adjuster screw and see if it solves the problem. one more time thank you for your reply.
@@sub12airgunners well I polish the piston and I solve the problem of creep but now if I shoot in low power with a 100 bar reg the plenum only fill at the second shot, it's like the reg don't recognize that the pressure in plenum changes, any suggestion to solve this? Ps: I rebuild the reg with no lubrification, do you think that it's the problem?
Unfortunately not, we don't ship outside the UK, you can buy it from bagnall and kirkwood though they sell internationally. You can find the tools by searching. link below. spares.bagnallandkirkwood.co.uk/
