Fx Panthera .25 with 700 mm barrel shoot 44 grain Avs slugs at 993 fps out to 400 yards Tested boatail slugs reaching out to 400 yard. Panthera is from Talone Tunes
Bill, brother, can I ask you something? As I told you before, you are one of the few RU-vidrs I really trust and your tests mean a lot to me, especially since I plan to buy a Panthera 700 in .22 cal. I Would You take some time and shoot at steel (instead of cans and balloons) so we can clearly see groups at 200, 300 or even 400 yards. I'm sure the other colleagues would like it too, at least some of them. I would really like someone like you to tell me what specifically I can expect at the LR and ELR distances, what the groups really are. Thank You!
I’m planning on making a video soon with with some popular slugs out to distance shooting at steel. Unfortunately you need a really good day with no wind at All to get any decent groups past 200 yards. At 300 a 1 mile per hour wind can move a slug 4 inches, at 400 7 inches and at 500 would be 11 inches. A one mile per hour breeze is very difficult even to feel or see. The way I shoot , I do my calculations take my best guesstimate on the wind using my kestrel. Then I send the shot some times I get lucky and hit the target but most of the time I see my impact and make a quick correction and shoot before the wind changes. Lots of times by the fifth shot the wind changes and your not even in the ball park. I shot is morning the wind was only 3 to 4 miles per hour not steady at 300 yard the slug was shifting 14 inches. so today a five shot group would have been around 14 inches but I was still able to hit cans by missing and making a quick correction before the wind changed. Thanks for watching
Hey bill, I think a how to video on StrelokPro would be very useful to a lot of shooters. I’m constantly getting messages from airgunner asking about it. You seem to really have it figured out. Just an idea. Great video as always! You make that panthera look good
Great suggestion! Thanks It’s a rainy day here. I’m actually on my way to the range. Not agreat day for shooting long distance I’ll put something together today👍
I have a .25 Hercules Bully and run 48 grain Griffin boat tail slugs in it. Rifle absolutely loves those! My range is only 220 yards but on calm days I’m gettin sub moa with that setup. Btw this is the first time I’ve found your channel and I’ll be subscribing. Nice work!
@@myairgunrange originally 870fps but I tuned it down a bit. I’m testing out 52 grain solid nose boat tail now and getting 771 fps. Hasn’t seemed to hurt my groups at that speed and I’m getting almost double the shot’s.
bill ... great zoom shots of the target ... what camera and lens are you using ?? i am thinking it is a better system to use for testing than a scope cam .... maybe put it in the description for others to see ... i have not see any other's talking about this alternative for showing/recording testing data .... thx in advance
Very impressive 👏 👌🏻. You make it look easy.😅 Can I ask what scopemount u are using in that video, that is a musthave imo for those long-range shots! Thanks!
would love to see what your magic could di in .30 cal/700mm. that’s the caliber i am opting for when i order a Panthera. Not much out there in . 30 cal to refer to. need .30 cal here in sweden to get it licensed as a + 150 Joule riffle wich means it is the same as a 22 LR smakl game hunting riffle, on paper and soo much easier from a license virw to get than a special air riffle permit. I think the .30 cal perspective would generate a lot of views from sweden and scandinavia. keep on good work Buddy 👍🇸🇪🔫😁
Try a wooden board bullseye 2 x 4 from that range and demonstrate how deep the pellets penetrate would show the actual foot-pounds at impact also would show how close I get to the center u
Hi sir id like to ask when u received your pnthera .25 is it in stx slug or stx superior heavy? Website says superior heavy but i got a stx slug .25 1:18TR
Bill, another great video , I trust your judgment I’m asking for your help I’m thinking of buying either a Huben .22 cal or a Valcan 3 what one do you like better? Thanks Jim
I have a Fx 3 m and a wildcat BT 22 that I’m not crazy about and a Huben .25 that I love, but I has thinking about getting the Huben in wood in a .22 but the Vulcan looks good as well! Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks Jim
Hey buddy , i would like to purchase a new air rifle but was wondering what to go with a .22/.25 or a .30 which one performs better i see u shooting .25 all the time should i go with a .25 ?
For long range shooting and hunting my preference is for the .25 over the .22. If you look up RMAC you'll see everyone shooting 100 yards or longer using .25, .30 or .35 because those pellets and slugs fight the wind better than the lighter .22.
