Amen, I despise rap but I have an appreciation for someone like Tom this song in particular is one of my absolute favorites. It will always hold a special place iny heart.

Not sure if it’s true but I’ve read in comments that Tom spoke to many people in his neighborhood to get their stories. He lived in Crenshaw then. A neighborhood in LA. Very poor. 57, disliked rap since it started becoming mainstream in the late '80's. I found Tom in '21 with Fake Woke. I went to his channel and starting listening to/watching everything. This song is the one that made me realize Tom is different. I can't explain it, but I could feel the sincerity in the music and the lyrics. I have been a fan since. Angels and I Wish are my two favorite "non-controversial" songs of his because I've lost family members to suicide and they really touch me. In fact I joke I have a love/hate relationship with them. Keep on keepin' on, man. Subbed.
