I really like this watch. I have a Marathon Navigator and I love tritium tubes. This Luminox seems like a perfect watch for me. In my opinion, this is way more attractive than a G-Shock.
I subscribe to your channel because you put lug to lug dimension in your spec sheet. Many people left that out. Lug to lug is important because it determines the overall length of the watch. Great job!
Love gshock & luminox. Get both, especially the Ice sar luminox with 200m WR & full t25 tubes. Also a ronda 715 movt. Great Beaters ! I wish manufacturers start using T 100 tubes. Awesome video !
Like you said they can’t compete with G-SHOCK, just another level of toughness. I nearly brought a Luminox a while ago but I’ve heard a lot of stories about them being as water resistant as a sugar cube
The iso divers watch certification at one point was 100m ! Your Rolex’s and others iso certified them at 100m ! I’m not sure what year that changed but I’m assuming quite some time ago but just an interesting fact! I just bout the leatherback sea turtle brand new for $178.99 not a bad deal, and I agree with you on the fact that the luminox would not be my choice for a shtf situation, that honor would got to my GW-9400 rangeman! But if this luminox is all I had I wouldn’t be devistated about it because they are rugged watches imho!
So very technical, but as usual your strong point is your very honest take on the watch you are reviewing at the time. Casio or Luminox who cares, because in both instances you are getting a great time piece for your money. Yes Casio is an indestructible range of products, and probably unbeatable. Lastly your practical stay safe message is a great social message to everyone Sir 👍 Tam.
Nice review. I basically agree, it’s nice, but A pass for me. I actually have an older Navy Seal Diver. I really like it. Has 200m wr and tritium on every hour, all hands, and the pip.
3.17.2022 Have you received a class action recall on Luminox watches in the mail? I got mine today. Look up Biddick vs. Lumondi and it brings up the settlement page and tells you which watches are included in the recall.
i don't own that model, but i owned luminox sentry for the same price, i prefer that sentry model rather than this turtleback, both has 8 tritiums, but in the sentry, you got an extra lume on the 12, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 and it's almost as bright as in my seiko diver
Just for the looks, I'd take this over a G-Shock any day! Good god! To the average Kmart shopper, a G-Shock is a $39 watch. They may be badass, but they also come across as calculator watch to the untrained eye
Dillon Hoffman yep, bang for buck, Nite seems to be a better bet. G shocks are amazing. The military will always go for G shocks. Analogue wise, a Seiko diver will last a lifetime.... and they are also quite popular with the military.
Enjoyed the enlightening review. I can't count on both hands the number of times I've had different color ways of this watch in a cart over the last year and never pulled the trigger 😂. I'll just stick with the Atacama 1920's Series. I have the 1922 on a bracelet and love it.
Can't be said as "G-Shock Competitor". They're the class of their own. G-Shock models are obviously more affordable while offering abundant things to consider.
Elvar Bragason agree, they are amazing for the money, super popular.....often get reduced to $10. I put one in a washing machine on 1600rpm and it survived no probs, it just gained a minute! The lume is poor, though, but that’s it.
Interesting watch, looks very similar to a sub 100$ model from Casio in my opinion (which doesn´t have Tritium tubes of course). But I personally wouldn´t pay that amount of money...
Agreed fully. I don't care if Tritium was up to $50,000 per gram, a watch with these specs should not cost over $120, let alone the $200 it retails for online. It has a cheap quartz movement and will get dinged up. I love the look of it and color, but I would get a replica of this on Ali-Ex before I shell out for this version.
I've owned 2 and I own a few G Shocks and it's my opinion that the G Shocks are FAR superior. I'm pretty sure professional top tier guys wear G Shock. However I strongly feel that the best timepiece around is the one on your wrist. If Luminox is the brand that you dig then wear that bitch with pride.
