G-type is a fan game created by CnC Darkside and its game elements is based on Gradius, R-type and Darius. You pilot the R9A - Arrowhead ship using the Gradius powerup system instead of the instant pickup system used in the R-type series.

Stage 1 : Space Satellite Metropolis
Its the same path as easy mode except there are twice the enemies as there were before. Enemies are now capable of fighting back too. No physical changes are made to the stage.
Boss: Duel Big Core
Same as easy mode except for a few minor details. The boss is now capable of flying close to you and firing lasers at a faster rate, but can be avoided with ease and the counter bullets that come from the barriers are now unblockable.
Stage 2: Biohazard Area
The stage has more enemies and the game forces you to take the upper route instead of the lower route once you've reached the midsection of the area. The upper route has waterfalls that can push the ship into surfaces or enemies that will result in death. One speedup will slow the process down though I recommend two speedups just to be on the safe side.
Boss: Spider
A boss that is based on the shadow dancers from the Gradius series except this boss fight takes place while flying down a vertical shaft instead of a horizontal path. Its main attack is to try and crush the ship with it's legs. Every once in a while it will jump in a direction based on the movement of the stage either going up or down.
Stage 3: Space Battleship
This entire stage is a threat due to having a sea of flames that spawn fireballs below you while avoiding a warship that spawns enemies, tries to ram into you and attempts to burn you to a crisp with it's propulsion systems. My only advise is to keep your eyes on the fireballs and the warship itself along with the enemies that come from the hatches.
Boss: Vic Viper Bydo
It is now revealed that before R9A - Arrowhead was sent to complete its mission to take down the Byderians, Vic Viper was commissioned to deal with the evil empire by the planet Gradius. Unfortunately, transmission between Vic Viper and HQ was lost after Vic Viper was overpowered and captured by the Byderians. Now the only choice left is to destroy the legendary spacecraft that saved the universe many times. Vic Viper Bydo possesses all the weapons featured in the Arcade version of Gradius III and IV, two options and Force field. Force field must be destroyed first before you can inflict damage on Vic Viper Bydo. Multi-way is a perfect weapon to deal moderate damage without putting yourself in danger and beating this boss. I also advise staying above Vic Viper Bydo because it's capable of using missiles.
Stage 4: Boss on Parade
As usual with all boss rushes involving Gradius, orange zubs spawn around you which give you powerups and blue ones which don't give you anything at all.
Boss 1: Fossil Golem
A space salmon that behaves like the brain golem from the Gradius/Salamander series. Its arms can be destroyed which is optional. If you kill the boss without destroying its arms then it doesn't enter its second attack pattern. If you destroy its arms then it gains 3 additional attacks. It can shoot scales from its body which can be destroyed if shot at with any weapon you have, shoot bullets from its mouth which is blockable and fire a large beam attack.
Boss 2: Twin Metalshell Death Core
Its attack pattern is based on Big core MK.III, so its not much of a threat. It can't be damaged by either standard fire, multi-way or laser, but can be damaged by missiles, Burst shot and the wave cannon.
Boss 3: Lizard Sword
This boss uses its four arms to fire lasers in different patterns which also includes a laser stream attack that shoots horizontally while moving the laser stream vertically.
Boss 4: Tetran Mist
Looking at its name should tell you that its pattern is the same as the Tetran core with two exceptions. The boss spawns little white lights that can't be destroyed or blocked and must be avoided while dodging the blades and Tetran mist is able to spin the blades quickly which send the lights in different directions.
Boss 5: Mother Bybo
The only attacks this final boss of stage 4 has is shooting bullets which can be blocked and the mobile barriers that the rotating eyes use to trap you.
Stage 5: Enemy Fortress
This is a speed stage which is one of my favorite parts of the Gradius series. One speedup and quick reflexes is all you need to avoid any dangers.
Boss: Final Guard
Same as easy route except it spawns infinite turrets after you destroy both cores.

Precise movement is required to not get crushed by the pillars.
Final Boss: Bio Computer
Silly Red falcon core, you took a wrong turn at the Contra breakfast club and ended up here instead. Attack pattern = think about the first Gradius and Contra 3
