Watch as I install and review the legendary South Bend Dual Disk Organic Clutch in my 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 5.9 Cummins Turbo Diesel and the G56 6 speed manual transmission.
This installation process applies to all 05.5-17 Dodge Ram 2500-3500 trucks with the G56 manual transmission. This clutch is the best of both worlds with the holding power of South Bend's dual disk clutch and the drivability of a stock clutch!

Of all the videos on RU-vid 99.9% of the time I have no idea where they are from. The one I look up today for clutch noise just happens to be in my town lol I was like hey we've got a titan tire..then I was like HEyyy that's a&j. Damn this guy lives here. Good video. Mine is a 2017. At idle it's not terrible but when the clutch is pressed.... it's LOUDDD! like people looking like wtf is wrong with your truck loud.

I try not to put too many recognizable things in the background lol very cool we live in the same town! We actually moved to Troy over the summer and then headed to Illinois in the spring. You’ll probably see the blue truck around every now and then. Your loud noise might be coming from your throw out bearing?

I just completed the same clutch swap in my truck. The noise at idle and 5th gear drives me nuts. I changed the fluid in mine from transmission fluid to Hot Shot's Secret G56. It helped with the noise but didn't make it go away. My fluid needed changed so it was a good thing that I would not have done.

I was wondering if it was just me, it seems like it’s getting louder in all gears. Also it drives me nuts it takes so long to initially get it in gear, kinda jumpy from a stop too. I was thinking about switching back to ATF+4 but I might try the hot shot’s

Amsoil 75-90 MTG. It's slicker than Hot Shots and Delvac 50.

Does it have a grinding sound, almost like radio static? I just bought an auction 07. It’s obviously modified from the turbo sounds but I have no idea of the history so I was thinking either a bad pilot/return/or throw out bearing, but now I’m thinking it’s just the upgraded clutch

nice install..the dmf dampens all the vibration from the cummins. I have a south bend single disk . How many miles did u have on the truck when u removed the dmf?

Robby T the truck had 250,000 miles on it when I replaced it. Looked like it was the original one, all it was doing was making everything thing really sloppy. Loving the dual disk now though!

Is that a safe jacking point on the front axle tube near the diff?? obviously worked for you?? I need to do the same grt my g56 out from underneath the truck.

It’s always been a safe jacking point for me on every straight axle truck and Jeep I’ve owned. It’s not that hard of a job, should be able to do it pretty easily in a weekend

It wasn’t the DMF, it ended up being the front driveshaft I found out a few months later as it started getting worse

I just picked up pretty much the same truck with the G56. Just about has the same miles to. I was curious if you got yours for over 20 or under 20,000? If you don't mind. If you do no big deal. That canopy definitely improves the look!

Very nice, they’re great trucks especially with the g56! I bought mine with about 210,000 miles, been a great truck. Just did injectors, should of done it sooner though lol good luck with your new truck!

Definitely ordering injectors very soon. I work on transit buses in Oregon and I've seen too many injector failures wipe out cylinders and pistons. Think about taking some footage while travelling. Not too much to ruin the trip but I bet you'd get a good number of viewers.. Later, Brian Near Mt. Hood..

im at 32k miles with my 17 g56. pulling my small TT that is 3500# it slips when i try to get up to speed and also in 6th when going up a hill. if i get on it without a TT it will slip in 3rd. need to buy this clutch soon. How do you like it so far?

also if you grab third and step on it does it actually catch and go? No im not a lead foot i just sometimes like to get in front of other vehicles when i know lanes merge into 1 lol

I love the clutch and highly recommend it. I’ve been driving it for about 3,000 miles and no issues so far, doesn’t slip at all. After I first installed it, it did seem a little jumpy on engagement from a stop but it’s gotten a lot smoother since. Shifting is also a tad slower, especially from neutral, I think due to there being so much friction material. With those few downsides you get a heck of a lot more holding power, definitely worth it in my opinion. Good luck!

@@9NailzGarage one more quiestion as wife is nagging me to pick one....ceramic or organic? im going with the south bend 550hp dual disc. as i have a DRD tune and will only go up to 440hp but wanna be able to tow 15k if i ever need to lol

It didn’t I’m pretty sure it’s my front driveshaft after looking a lot closer at it.

@@9NailzGarage My 08 model had a vibration around 65 to 70. It was a hub bearing on the drivers side that was causing it.

@@brentmcmullen3880 I finally narrowed it down to the front driveshaft, had some issues finding it cause I had a bad tire too. Making a video on rebuilding the driveshaft now

I can’t believe the local shop of mine that I was about to allow to charge me $400 to change out the hydraulic slave cylinder just for labor. That is absurd but yet they only want $200 to install the banks monster ram intake system now that is a damn steel lmao. They do want $600 to change out the fuel pump I think it should be two to $300 because of how easy it is. My grandpa died two weeks ago and we are going to drive 5000 miles to go travel and those are the things that our truck needs before long distance trip $1100 I’ll pass I will pay the 200 though LOL and I’ll do the rest myself
