DeeKay I can relate to that. For some older games I feel like I actually lived them. They’ve sticked with me through years and growing up but I’ve noticed that it barely happends with newer games
Absolutely love the series. It was the first point and click game I played as a kid that I was so invested in I refused to look up any hints. I hope they continue with the remakes.
Absolutely _love_ it!!! Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers is probably my favorite adventure game. Saw it in a bin at a Best Buy for five bucks. Best purchase! This game inspired a trip to New Orleans where I met real life characters I will never forget. Again, beautifully done!
Yeah same, though not been to New Orleans, but planning a trip there thanks to the game I played back in the 90's and seek out the "monuments" e.t.c. that were the imspiration for the game.
This is simply amazing! GK songs have this unique feeling I don't find in any other soundtrack. Your interpretation is perfect, that old feeling is there. Thank you! :)
Thank you Rodrigo! You are absolutely right. GK songs have a unique feel and that's because of Robert Holmes and his interpretation of the story and characters. The music is well thought through.
I've been loving this game series since I played GK3 for the first time when I was a teenager about fifteen years ago. These games include stories that are impossible to forget. Also, it's of course always very nice to hear different versions of these unforgettable theme songs. They truly capture the feelings and atmosphere of the stories.
Exactly, the stories of these games are hard to forget. Music is well thought through and it nearly always completes the atmosphere and mood of the game perfectly. And I bet the stories wouldn't be as effective without the music. Keep your memories alive :)
Gabriel Knight will always have a special place in your heart doesn't it. It's such a good theme and even after all these years still a joy to listen to. You performed it, and filmed it flawlessly!
Thank you! This just haunted me so many years as an open project that I needed to finish it. And I do have good memories of this song though St. George's Books theme is easier to remember
@@KatjaSavia mystery, voodoo murders and passion. Any elements needed for an adventure game exist in the series. Music and story are also wonderful in the second game, the beast within.
Love love love it! Like you, I have a really personal connection to this game as well and I always check your channel for, among other things, new GK videos! :)
I'm glad you like it and I love to read your comments every time. There are very unusual but at the same time familiar things in GK games. I'm not sure if it is the music, storytellers exotic voice in GK1, mystery surrounding voodoo, sarcastic humor or slight melancholia that creates this connection for me. Or maybe it's the time period when the game was played... Who knows really ;) Thank you for being there!
To be honest, I don't know much about voodoo. Maybe I know a little about Finnish shamanism. Ain't they almost the same thing...? Spells and potions. Maybe a curse here or there ;)
@@KatjaSavia Yes it is. Some times i run the game just to listen the theme at the menu using my Roland Sound Canvas or the MT32. You know which theme is also great? The gedde estate :).
Detective Yaris, I don't have a lot of free time but I do appreciate the odds: opera, symphony, ballet, fine art... If you look around, you'll see that I research dark art. 😉
