muscle less Fitness I do. Alberto crossed the line and shouldn’t have been doing all those ‘experiments’. But none of this changes Rupp as a runner in my eyes. He has a mental drive and grace when he runs that drugs can’t make.
@@cosmosrunner -- I agree. The way he holds himself is so graceful, that it reminds me of a dancer who is an impeccable center of gravity. There's nothing wasted.
Galen Rupp was so dominant throughout this race. The last kilometers he sped up and left Sisay with quite the gap. Sadly nowadays we can clearly see that Galen is approaching the twilight of his running career. I just hope he can break into a 2:04 or 2:05 marathon before he retires. Would be great to see that happen. Sisay Lemma on the other hand is approaching the peak of his running potential. He goes from 2:07 to 2:01 after like 6 years? Pretty insane to be honest. If only Galen can improve like that.
Galen hasn't been the same since his surgeries and since Salar was banned (both events could be related). He can still run faster than most athletes, but I don't see how he could PB at this stage of his career. I think he should focus on breaking American masters records once he's 40 years old.
Sisay on the other hand is 33 years old, in his prime years. We don't know if his progression is legit, but he's 1-2 years away from starting to lose the father time battle.
heheh ... If you're serious, one good tip is to always look at the horizon far away instead of looking down all the time. Also, try to keep your neck and head relaxed. If there is any pressure on your neck for a long time, you will experience some dizziness.
@@musclelessfitness2045 Yes, I find looking ahead keeps me from plodding, too. I'm just not as good at running since bulking up to 250lbs from years of heavy weightlifting. I overheat much faster and my VO2 ratio is way off compared to when I was 180lbs.
@@musclelessfitness2045 Weight makes a HUGE difference. Try putting on a large backpack full of 60 pounds of meat and go for your normal run. That's why major marathons are only won by men weighing under 130 pounds. Top distance running efficiency requires a bodyweight of less than 2 inches of weight for every inch of body height. I could easily run a 4:40 mile when I was 6' 1.5" and 145 pounds 35 years ago, but could barely get under a 5:30 mile just 2 years later after gaining 20 pounds of muscle despite consistent training. I don't have any problem running 40 and 100-yard sprints at 250 pounds and I'm actually faster now at sprints than I was at 145.
@@joelouden6592 I know all that, but that wasn't my point. I was just saying that your weight shouldn't stop you from running, whichever distance you like.
