HURRAH ! AT LAST we find a man who stands up to the Met and the BBC ,and I sincerely hope he sues BOTH to the Hilt as they both deserve to be brought down.
@dadadruma Marcopoulos......... The guy knows bugger all about pop music and culture! [he was as far removed from what was really happening on the music scene during the '80's & 90's as it was possible to be].
And no doubt they won't have him back, the same as what they did to that guest on Question Time who highlighted their consistent lopsided ratio of Pro-EU guests to Leave.
Meaningless, empty soundbite. To verify it was the 'only honest interview...for many years', we require evidence constituted of verifiable written sources and testimonies, both oral and written, going back decades, in addition to polygraph reports and supplementary statistical data. We require a thesis many many thousands of pages long with witness statements and documentary footage cross referenced against reliable sources for accuracy. We need to track down the thousands of people interviewed by the BBC over the years and investigate them, alongside the interviewers. It would be perhaps the most major undertaking in the history of media. You see, what you said is fundamentally meaningless....
@@andymerrett you must know him very well to make such a statement - and so what was your relationship with him? How much involvement did you have in what you allege?
i don't blame PG for being so angry, he must have gone through hell, hope he succeeds in exposing any undoing's - I'm tired of the BBC's arrogance lately
why are you assuming he was angry. Has the word passion, passionate ever entered into living in the box mentality 🤔 That's a rethorical question by the way All that is f' uk up in the world. Those that have been 'subverting the souls of people' since 'time' began. So much so the fear gives the people to end up living under a rock. 'There is no authority but yourself' 🤔🤔🤔
@@AC-13 I've been through exactly the same ordeal as Paul, and I can assure you that anger doesn't come close to describing what Paul experiences on a daily basis. YOu have to go through it to understand.
@@AC-13 Miight be rhetorical but that doesn't mean you are let of the hook for your stupid comment. Has the fact anger is a sign of passion ever entered into your mentality?
Well done Paul Gambaccini! Eloquent, courageous and even humorous-despite being so angry at the situation. Brilliant performance, great to see a BBC 'journalist' being comprehensively owned.
Thank God there are still people in the limelight who are willing and able to speak out against corruption. They are the voice of the people. Not the corrupt BBC, Government and police. Thank you Paul.
Respect this man who has suffered incredibly by slander - slander and lies believed by the Police and accepted as the norm. Thank heavens a High Court judge threw the whole lot out as nonsense, and the perpetrator of the lies is now well behind bars. Paul is a great man, and what he said needs to be listened to.
Paul Gambaccini: “I will go head to head with Fran Unsworth in any public forum and I will dissect her like a frog, without ether.” What a cracking statement! Way to go Paul Gambaccini! Victoria Derbyshire’s response? “OK. I’ll pass your invitation on to her.”
Not just satisfying, but very necessary. Both the Police and the BBC can be absolutely partial when in suits their fell purpose - both are losing/have lost the Public confidence and, regrettably, neither are now to be trusted. "By their actions shall ye know them.'
@@cherylemmanuel744 asking him leave would be political suicide for the BBC, what would be their grounds? If it is because of hurt feelings he would win any all claims he made in court, just like the two old straight white guys who got sacked because they were old, white, straight and male.
How he managed to remain so eloquent and did not resort to "shouting and bawling" was very impressive. I'm not sure I could have done so if I'd had to endure 3.5 years before my name was cleared of any wrongdoing. Still can't get over how the Beeb filmed the 'raid' on Cliff Richard's home as it happened..
@Mark Hepworth Kind of their point m8, the BBC are Downing Street mouthpieces on whom their existence depends. They are there to feed whatever propaganda that suits to the public at large.
I found this one - It's awful. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-P--EIek-2OY.html Never knew this interview existed, thanks for making me look it up.
Articulate, intelligent, great self control. His integrity intact, professional and a gentleman. Brave too! Always loved his broadcasting style! What this man went through was deplorable!
Well, he would have his integrity intact, but you seem unaware or prefering to forget that he still works for the BBC (Counterpoint, BBC Radio 4 quiz show).
Respect to Paul Gambaccini here, if you think he's mad at the Met, BBC, etc, then multiply all that by tenfold how I and many feel about how the Covid scandal has been handled.
Wow!! When you are honest your conviction about facts goes beyond imaginable, we can see in his eyes he is telling the truth. Well done Sr Paul. " No, no, no I am not having this" 😂😂😂😂
@Mark Hepworth For clarity, read the trail of the messages and you'll find you referred the word first, but. thanks for confirming your suspicions there may be a link between the two.
I feel I owe a lot to Paul Gambaccini in so much as helping me to discover 50s, 60s and 70s music, which would have been the soundtrack of my parents' lives. I'm particularly thinking about the Top 100 albums book from the mid-late '80s. From there I became a fan of the likes of the Velvet Underground, Van Morrison, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Creedence, Otis etc...even some Simon and Garfunkel, as well as the Pistols and the Clash. Happy memories of teenage years, where there were sunny weekends, Sunday roasts, some new, but old, records to play - to hear for the first time. Keep on Rockin'
@@Berry-fr5wj I'd go further than that with the BBC. I think is was set as a government propaganda source back in the day and now it's plays an activist roll in the military industrial complex of Great Britain. Even milquetoast Muppets like Jeremy Vine on Radio 2 was a very strong advocate for the war in Libya. The whole things is a charade & a farce & one that we are forced to pay for.
just look for the bit where whilst a man is describing his mental health condition she is busy checking her make up as she thought the cameras were not on her
"Never knew Pinnochio had a sister until Cressida Dick made commissioner" "I will dissect her like a frog without ether" Brilliant. Just needs some beats.
Sooperb analogy there. Song writers & musicians would line up to make those words fall into a track that would be a best seller. lol. Let's start the ball rolling now. We'll start with Jeff Lynne, go get yer mates Jeff 😀😀
100% respect to Paul if you was facing a fight this is a man you would want by your side on a lighter note I would love to own his record collection true legend
Frankly I never had much time for this old queen but after reluctantly reading his book about the false allegations made about him and the absolutely outrageous investigation I too was outraged and from then on I have nothing but admiration and respect for this man, his courage and fortitude during the time of his accusations was to be admired so one can understand his rapid rage when faced 8 years later with Derbyshire and her insensitive remarks.
Exactly and both refused to comment too. The met (and the police in general; see Alex Belfield on youtube) and the London Mayor hold most people in contempt!
Victoria was not defending the Met; she was putting forward opposing viewpoints to enhance the quality of the interview. These alternative viewpoints gave Paul more ammunition to attack the Met' Police.
why are you assuming he was angry. Has the word passion, passionate ever entered into living in the box mentality. That's a rethorical question by the way.
@@peterduff9281 such is the conditioning of your mind since being born. There is no relation between passion and anger. You're assuming PG is angry please provide factual evidence or get to grips on that repugnant disgusting emotion of the weak minded.
@@user-ln4qe1sh8i she's had cancer, perhaps it's a wig. However, that doesn't excuse the fact she is one of the vilest people on the BBC, and that's saying something!
And what did Ian Hislop know? Strange how he took money to appear with Savile but was given a free ride by Private Eye! I wonder how Hislop managed to avoid the usual muckraking and innuendo from that magazine! Anyone have any idea?
These so-called journalists know they can say whatever they like as the have their TV companies backing them. Truth…they wouldn’t know the truth if it bit them on the bum. No one in that business speaks the truth …..it’s a long-forgotten art.
Anger - righteous anger, is at the point of boiling over in Britain. It is wonderful to see. Please keep your heads cool and be very clear what you want and how to get it. Don't expect anything from the ruling class except boots and truncheons to the head, teargas, fit-ups and divide and rule dirty tricks. Stick together and we will prevail
I wouldn’t employ Victoria Derbyshire to put out the rubbish. I’ve seen some inadequate news presenters ( I can’t use the word journalist) but she really is BAD.
Paul is absolutely right about the higher echelons of the police. The rot set in in the late 1970's when the graduate entry scheme was introduced to create rapid promotion for graduates. This has led to a situation today where we have people of Assistant Chief Constable rank with hardly 3 years experience of policing. There are too many people at the top of the police service who have more degrees than arrests. Many couldn't investigate a smell from a drain, its that bad. As for 'leadership' you don't become a good leader from staring at a computer or just drifting from one office to another. I remember listening to a Met Superintendent during the Lawrence enquiry, telling the enquiry that he didn't know what his powers of arrest were. Can you believe it? Pathetic. Front line experience is essential in policing, understanding the sort of people you will come up against and recognising that the police are dealing by and large with dishonest and wholly unscrupulous people who will go to any lengths to evade the law. Too many at the top in policing don't understand that. Its getting worse because of this woke and diversity rubbish where today officers are being promoted for no other reason that to tick boxes in the drive for more diversity. Police leaders need to know about policing, but too many are just pen pushers staring at computers all day. The fault lies with politicians who have politicised the police, demanding degree qualifications for recruits, intruding political people as Crime Commissioners countrywide. Police forces need to get back to having hard nosed coppers in charge not academic idiots.
16/8 22 V D could have taken Gambo up on that offer - instead she wriggled with the lid replacing it on the unexpected can of worms that had landed in her lap !
Me, a relative nobody, emailed Paul some time ago to express my sadness at what happened to him but also my admiration for his courage and purposeful anger. He was gracious enough to reply. As for the BBC, there's a deep and tragic story to be told about an organisation that for decades protected and cosseted one of the very worst sex offenders the nation has ever known, while showing malicious complicity in the witch-hunt of Mr. Gambaccini and other innocents.
Well, I think and certainly hope that one of the reasons for people such as Paul Gambaccini coming forward is, as well as to gain justice for themselves, but also to encourage working and middle class people to come forward and expose corruption, in whatever sector of the economy it takes place. I think if people want to blow the whistle, one of the best ways of going about that, is to contact famous people who have been mistreated and had their characters assassinated by our msm, both broadcast and printed.
Still the best legal system in the World, far from perfect it saddens me to say, BUT we can get justice for legal wrongs, trouble is powerful institutions seem to think they hold all the cards....they don't! Time and money is usually the way! But one can navigate a way through, regards.
So are you saying Paul shouldn't get a voice because he's famous or because not every single person does? Do you want to hear people that speak up or only from a select few you choose? I'm confused by your logic.
She is so obviously out of her depth, and towing the party (BBC) line. Well said Paul Gambaccini. I have always found him to be the most articulate and eloquent of men.
I do so hope Paul keeps to his word when he says that he and others will be coming for the BBC in due course - or words to that effect. I'm sick and tired of that organization's arrogance right now.
He'll get cancelled for being a misogynist because he shouted at a defenceless lady. I'm sure the police are on there way for this horrendous hate crime. By passing any real crimes happening on the way.
Brilliant, good for him!!!! Derbyshire is a pratt, lol'd so hard at the " don't shout at me" rub it up her. "dissected like a frog, without ether" fantastic quote!!
Since they muted him, it's hard to say for an absolute fact whether or not he was shouting (be kind of hard to blame him if he was). As a ploy though "Please don't shout at me" is an absolute classic, up there with "Have you stopped beating your wife yet?" *As in:* "Oh! Won't somebody help to stop that *ReallyBadMan™,* that *Ogre* shouting down that poor helpless woman.?!"
It was one of those inside evil smiles I got when I heard a few years ago on the radio that Victoria Derbyshire's show had been cancelled. Why would a normal person like me that doesn't wish ill on people think like that? That same inside smile just came out in a big evil smile watching this as like a fly caught in the web, Derbyshire had no where to go here as the likes of her type of "journalism" as she probably calls herself is the "gotcha" type. Catch people off guard, fall in to line, this is your interview but it is my interview too. I just wish more people like Gambaccini would come along and it's always the quiet ones. If you'd said Galloway or the knob that is David Lammy, you'd expect it, but Paul Gambaccini lol? Well done Paul. I grew up respecting BBC newsreaders. I knew all their names as a kid. Moira Stewart, Peter Sissons etc. People naturally respected them. The likes of Derbyshire thinks that respect is deserved. It ozzzesses off her. Even in her tone of voice. I say again, well done Paul!
All his income streams were suspended on the back of those false allegations. He didn’t just suffer reputational damage but endured appalling financial hardship too and was reliant on the generosity of friends to keep his head above water before he was belatedly totally vindicated. No wonder his anger is positively white hot!
I met him last year at Costa coffee Ashby de la Zouch, spoke to him for a couple of mins. Really nice bloke. I just get the feeling he knows what he's on about here. Top man.
Go Paul.... total respect for you..... I detest the BBC.... I stopped paying my TV licence a long time ago.... I would prefer to cut my arm off than fund the BBC....
I'm shocked the beeb let the interview go on ! perhaps an intern at the controls. Anyway good for Mr Gambaccini for letting out a little truth, so hard to do these days.
That smile when he talks about the years to come. Thats not a threat, thats a promise. Paul is like the public. We are all angry and tired of having people in power telling us how to think and do things, erasing our past, destroying our culture, deriding our victories and making us be ashamed of who we are. I hope Paul is able to fix the Met and I REALLY would like to see him come for the BBC and then come for all the other establishments. He is the hero we need.
If all the public were really angry about the current situation, millions would be marching to Downing street. Pff...we talk a good game but there is no action. Oh yeah and we vote the same people in again and again and again.
The British people will sit still for anything. We're nowt more than sheep. The fact that the current administration has survived unscathed is testament to that.
Extremely well done Mr Gambaccini. What a wet interviewer. Whats with the 'please don't shout at me'? If you can't stand the heat then don't interview emotionally charged topics, which clearly this is! What a prima donna this woman is! Cold as fish. Does she not understand what this man has been through!!!
