New York Rangers fans react to the game 1 loss against the Florida Panthers at MSG.
Sergei Bobrovsky made 23 saves, including 11 in the third period, and the Florida Panthers defeated the New York Rangers 3-0 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday.
It was Bobrovsky's second shutout in 82 career Stanley Cup Playoff games (76 starts).
Matthew Tkachuk and Carter Verhaeghe each had a goal and an assist for Florida, which is the No. 1 seed from the Atlantic Division.
The Panthers have won four straight on the road and are 5-1 away from home overall this postseason.
Igor Shesterkin made 24 saves for New York, which is the No. 1 seed from the Metropolitan Division.

Bobrovsky making timely saves. He played very well. And Florida's physical play with great defense and forecheck proves too much for the Rangers. Lomberg and Tkachuk played a great game!

Diehard bruins fan here…I know it’s only one game but the way Florida plays suffocating defense with a insane forecheck is very frustrating for the opposing team…they held us to 2 or 3 shots in a few of the periods…I do believe the rangers will adjust and be way better game two but I feel your frustration bro…I believe this series goes most likely 7 games tho

the rangers in their limited opportunities had more oddman rushes than Florida, but even with breakaways or oddman the Rangers could not get a rebound or tip and that was that. This game was very close and it just wasnt the bounces for the Rangers tonight.

Funny thing. I'm an Islanders fan. But sometimes I'm visiting other teams fan pages on Facebook. A few weeks ago I found that Rangers banned be on Facebook. Without any reason. That's weird.

No puck luck last night. Also, they werent physical enough. 5 on 5, shocker, is still an issue, as well as getting no offense from bottom 6.

What worries me about this game was that I don’t think the Rangers played bad. I actually think they played as good as the rangers can play and that’s the scary part. Panarin went back to not shooting the puck and turnovers killed all momentum on our breakouts. Going to need to see some new strategy in game two or this will be a quick series.

If I've learned anything from this game I need to stop putting significant money on the Rangers.... This is 3 times in a row... Game 4 lost game 5 lost did not bet game 6 they won I bet game one of conference finals they lose... Clearly I need to stop betting on them because if I don't we're going to end up getting sweep...

Gotta say something here. Everyone saying the Rangers were pathetic on offense tonight must not have watched the game. Schneider post, cuylle breakaway, laffy post, I could go on. Panthers got the most breaks I’ve ever seen a team get, and the Rangers could’ve very easily won this game. Start Rempe next game, get the first goal and show everyone we mean business. LGR!!!

@@Nickh4929 no disrespect to the panthers. They defended very well for the most part, and bob was impressive. But if we’re being honest the only goal they really got was one that Igor should’ve saved. An own goal killed the momentum the rangers had when they were really clicking at the end of the game, but obviously that’s on them. Game could’ve gone either way though in my opinion.

Nah the rangers were pretty much shut down besides those few opportunities. Florida allowed almost nothing to happen in my opinion. Rangers couldn’t set up anything for the most part.

Not the first time we lose Game 1 of a series, but that second goal pissed me off. As Steve Dangle says it best: "If your a goaltender, TEND THE GOAL!!" Let's see how they respond in Game 2 on Friday.

This is TRUE!... no positive bounces -- and people have to realize this was really a 1-0 game, but just can't play so scared & too conservative offensively, and to for Christs sake!... Get Rempe back in!

Bad loss, but I don't see why we can't beat the Panthers. They had their fair share of mistakes, we just didn't capitalize on them. We had several chances to tie the game and didn't. Panthers had better luck, those 2 goals should not have happened. If we play our game we can beat them, I'm not counting this team out. I expect us to come out strong on Friday, not worried just yet.

Panthers won game 1 in 1997, Rangers won the next 4 games. Panthers lost game 1 last series 5-1, then they bounced back. If you think the Rangers aren't going to bounce back, you haven't been following this team.

You know it’s funny. The Rangers played like junk with that said it was a one shot game! kappa Kakko has to be sit down for Mat Rumpke ! Two big goal post ! Schneider scores the whole game is different. Gotta get more shots and bodies to the net plus have to bury the breakaways 0-2 0-2 for two on the power play

Rangers beat themselves in this game, they let Florida play their style of hockey and while it didn’t lead to them scoring a lot, in fact both their goals could’ve easily been avoided but shit happens, it stopped our top goal scorers from generating offense and forced them to combat a heavy forecheck on defense. Rempe is a must play for game 2 cause vesey and chytill were practically nonexistent tonight, we need Rempes aggression to fight back against an aggressive team cause there was none of that tonight. Offense has to stop playing so scared and cautious with a dump and chase or shoot then retreat mindset.

TRUE!!!.... The fact they didn't play Rempe against Florida is not ONLY insane!!... But I would call it a border-line retarded move. I was literally shaking my head when I didn't see him in the line-up. Rempe is not only there hardest & toughest player -- but call me CRAZY...but I think he is there fastest player, and moves his feet the most --- considering Kreider never really utilizes his speed.

If Florida played their style of hockey then does that not suggest that they played a better game than the rangers? I would not say rangers beat themselves. Just my opinion.
