What makes this so special,is the fact that Bruce Lee used real-life martial artists. The first guy with the batons and nunckucks,is Daniel Inosanto. He´s a Philipino Eskrima master who trained with Bruce and tought him philipino stickfighting. He then became Bruce´s student and is teaching Jeet Kun Do still today, continuing Bruce´s legacy. The second floor fighter,is Ji Han-jae,one of the highest ranking Hapkido masters from S.Korea who is also still teaching the art today. And of course,Kareem Abdul Jabbar, who was not only a famous NBA player but also one of Bruce´s students and is still practising Jeet Kune Do .(you can see him using the "free-flow" JKD style when he fights Bruce) Speaking of Jeet Kune Do,when Bruce talks about "breaking up routines" or "adapting to a fight" etc. in his fight with Daniel Inosando,he´s pretty much talking about the concept behind the creation of his fighting style.
@@naughtydog1617 The claws of the eagle? This technique is mainly used in the Bando martial art. Bando is a kind of Kung Fu in Burma. Originally, Kareem may have used this fighting style, but it proved to be too complex for him. This seems logical considering that in the film, Bruce Lee uses his praying mantis of Kung-fu (in addition to Wing Chun). That would have given a nice final opposition. Other than that, Kareem is not exceptional in this fight unlike the two previous fighters. It is especially its large size and 102 kilograms that make the difference.
Dan Inosanto is not teaching JKD, he is teaching some bullshit crap version of it. At best all this wing chun-eskrima movements could fit an early version of JKD, but still nothing of what Bruce wanted JKD to be in the later stages.
First martial film demonstrating the advantages of having a mixed martial arts background. Bruce Lee's intent on this film was to show the world the benefits of mixing techniques. Now MMA is all the rage. The man was visionary.
That's nothing new, in order to win a fight you will do anything possible, hit him with anything you have around you such as furniture, throw sand into your opponent's eyes, bite his ear, sharp pencil into their thigh, kick his groin...
No actually Enter The Dragon was. :) In a competition style setting. Lee's style was "MMA -like". He even kind of trained like a MMA fighter....though he never competed. So....all of his moves...they just looked good on film. All of it unproven and documented (with phots and film in competition)...had Bruce competed and been a world champion in several martial art styles...THEN he'd be THE MAN. For me he was simply the JCVD of the early 70's. Flashy moves done his way. With a unique persona that's marketable..to this day. To the point where millions of fans exist and overlook holes in his background. Even his son Brandon had a more documented background. Never claimed to be an expert in martial arts. Nor put down any style. Just did his own thing. And even got his breakthrough film role in The Crow. Not a martial arts film. Something Bruce couldn't do. Something most Bruce Lee fans have overlooked. :) In this way Brandon managed to one up his father... Unfortunately due to the cocky attitude of his father he suffered the fate he did. Getting shot by a prop gun. Never happens. Not in any Tom Cruise film, Sly Stallone film, Arnold Schwarzenegger film...etc. ALL prop guns have a safety in the barrel that prevents any possible live round or projectile from leaving the guns. They only go BANG. j Something Steven Segal mentioned when interviewed about Brandon's death...
Yes what a shame could have been his best movie ever! Bruce Lee was the GREATEST of all time! How long have you been a fan of Bruce Lee and when were you first introduced to Bruce Lee? Bruce Lee was the greatest martial artist and I learned that he died from brain hemorrhage on July 20th 1973 at the age of 32 (Bruce was born on November 27th, 1940 and died on 20th July, 1973. He never had the chance to see his 33rd birthday and never had the chance to see both of his kids grow up).
the martial arts films today are not that impressive, but Bruce Lee could still have surprised us with the martial arts he could have made in his films today. It is incomprehensible that someone dies in 1973 and is still loved all over the world in 2020 ☺ ........ Rest in peace my friend
This was definitely edited better than most previous attempts at telling the pagoda temple story of game of death. The sloppy scenes were eliminated and the flow of continuity was successful. Good job in making his last theatrical footage coherent and watchable.
This would of even been better than Enter The Dragon had Lee completed filming. Production was stopped due to the filming of Enter The Dragon. Only one knows how this movie would of been had he not passed away so young. His memory and philosophy will always flourish forever and ever. We were lucky to have him for the 32 years and the many many lives he has touched, changed, and influenced!!
His best movie by far was way of the dragon. Enter the dragon was a little too neurotic and dark and made for American audiences. Way of the dragon has the Norris and Lee final fight scene which will never be topped. It also has several humours scenes.
Paul Baransky Way of The Dragon was his directorial debut along with his writing, choreographer and this was Bruce being himself in the movie. Best fight scene with him and Chuck Norris. Arguably a classic in itself. Like you said, this movie had it all. Great fight scenes, story and comic relief!
it's not the action alone that makes this great. the character interactions, the facial expressions, how bruce communicates with his partners without saying a word... the way that the dust falls down from the floor above, interrupting his fight, the way the sandbag hits the guys shoulder on the swing back... it's all so incredibly done. the saddest part of losing lee isn't that we lost a great action star. we lost a great action writer and director too. imagine how different hollywood action movies would have been if the west had been greater influenced by lee at the top of his game, with full creative control over his projects,
Did you saw how Hollywood shows bruce lee in once a open time in Hollywood Brother i'm sorry for all my american friends but Hollywood Killed bruce 100 Prozent
Bruce is such a bad ass! Incredibly fast , no need to speed up the cameras as they do in today’s world of filming. Incredibly talented & way ahead of his time. Dearly missed along with the entire world!
Bruce Lee is the man. It’s not just his Kung fu but his style and his charisma that makes him beyond special and obviously irreplaceable and legendary. He is a trailblazer. An icon. An artist.
@@viidakkomehu9533 Overrated among those who has not studied JKD and underrated among those who ALSO has not studied JKD. He was neither Superman or 'just an actor'.
More of the story and movies. There will never be a master of kung fu like Bruce Lee. Just like Michael Jackson. King of kung fu and the king of pop. RIP.
Hoje, 27 de novembro de 2020 ...o dragão maior das artes marciais, o mito Bruce Lee completaria 80 anos.. ❤️❤️ permanece vivo nos que amam as artes marciais!!
To be fair, these sound effects were added on years later. some taken from other films. Had this film been properly finished it would have looked and sounded very different to what you see here. You have to view this with an understanding of what we are seeing here.
Regardless of the sound all martial arts films from the 70's had big loud crunches and wind ripping movements, considering this film was never finished I can appreciate the new music and sound since the final cut felt so trimmed.
What amazed me the most about this fight is how in the world did Kareem take so many so-called hits and kicks to the face and the sunglasses stayed on were they crazy glued in place🤣🤣🤣😎

James Tien did not die you would be a fool to ever think that. He was just knocked out. But Bruce did not see that instead he was shouting the locksmith up to unlock whatever was waiting upstairs treasure maybe? but as soon as Mr Lee would go downstairs Mr Tien would awake and maybe go upstairs......Who knows?

This 45 minutes of footage is worth going to see at the Movie theaters. They should've just released the movie like this and should've just explained that it was an unfinished project.

@Juno Donat well, you cansay that of every generation who grow up with video games in their young days, in fact you can say the same thing of the generation that grownup with Bruce Lee.
@@user-hz2jl1ok9j You can't compare. Bruce Lee kills all his enemies, his style is dramatic n funny both, Jackie is only fun in his old movies. And his fight are more dance than real fight. Bruce tried to stick near a real fight.
Some of the Most exciting fight footage ever filmed with the different schools and styles! Brilliant! The Late Great Bruce Lee! Danny Inosantno was no slouch either but he didn’t have the speed that Bruce had. And I like how Bruce Defeats the Karate guy.
Mike Tyson. You know who else has 9 world records? Honey Boo Boo. LA Beast. Some random Yokozuna. Absolutely none of those people are paragons of health. Just out of curiosity, what world records do you even think Bruce broke and why do you think they're relevant to helping him survive even *ONE* street brawl round with Mike Tyson? Also, literally anyone from the Gracie family would literally hand Bruce his ass. For anyone too lazy to look up statistics... Bruce Lee had a punching power of 350 lbs, which is impressive at his weight. However, Mike Tyson had a punching power of over 1100. I don't give a flying fuck if you can land 9 punches in 1 second. If you punch me 9 times in 1 second, yet all those punches are ~50 lbs of punching power, and I hit you once with a 1200 lb hook, I will turn your head into a fucking water balloon. Sure, ya might've knicked me a up a bit and given me a bruise or two... But you'll be the one staring up from your back at the end of the day.

Something interesting in this movie compare to his previous movies is that Bruce Lee talks and dialogue much more, so we can see him acting in unusual way, i have watched this scenes many many times, but this is the first time i realize that the movie was recorded originally English unlike his previous movies that were in Chinese voice.

what made bruce lee's movies more realistic and appealing was that every fight scene was relatively short compared to other martial movies where fight scenes lasted like forever, not to mention the tons of camera tricks and stuntmen.
@@marcosunday6383 watch the video again..bruce lee's first fight scene started at 6:30 mark and it ended at 26:30 which equals to 20 minutes. he also fought 3 opponents, not to mention the small talks, pauses and extra fight scenes of his two friends. now where is your 10 minutes??
People say Bruce wasn't a professional fighter which is true.. however that doesn't mean that he can't whoop yo ass. It's sad that his abilities are still to this day being questioned
I kept giggling at the sounds he made but after seeing it a second and third time and having watched other videos of his fighting in real time, i can understand them lol.
