Nice vid. I predicted this for the US several years ago. Car prices are going to hit an absolute wall. New car prices themselves are being raised by the manufacturers who are also providing the finance. Monthly payments stay the same but years are being added to the term, but the consumers in the USA are living only on monthly payments. You guys need to realise that NONE of the rest of the world live to this extent with that context of monthly payments as life. Finance and lease companies are going to be left with cars as loan security with a value of 1/4 of what they have on the books. It's not going to cause an economic crisis, but an economic downturn is going to cause a cascade and domino effect on the car market.

Squilliam Fancyson. Parker drives a leased E63 valued at $140,000 and a McLaren 600 LT valued at $350,000. His home, like most homes is mortgaged. His 2m subscriber RU-vid channel generates approximately $700,000. His sponsorship arrangements and merchandise sales generate another $200,000 annually. When compared to some other RU-vidrs his leverage/income ratio isn’t that crazy 😜

In 2014 I paid $47k for a new pickup. I had a decent down payment and paid it off in 42 months. I’m still driving it with 154k miles on the clock. After doing some not-so-serious shopping the last few months (Ranger) I’ve determined that I’ve bought my last new vehicle. This vehicle crap is out of control. I can’t justify it. I also can’t imagine playing in the exotic car market. Kudos to you for your transparency.

What a coincidence. I had this same conversation with a friend of mine today. I think most young people today want the instant reward of driving a new car without having to save up for it in the first place. People don’t realise how rewarding it is to work and save for something and then treat yourself.

I get your comment from an emotional point of view. The question however is, if it is financially sound to do so. Loans are very cheap nowadays and if you are able to invest your money wisely you might be better off taking out a loan instead of not investing the money you saved and incurring the opportunity cost. Bottom line is: if you know what you are doing and make the conscious decision to invest your money in the financial market instead of into a depreciating asset (for which you’ll use the loan) then that might be much better.

Yep, I loved the title. I enjoyed the content of the video also. For most of us, chasing happiness in any form by using excessive debt will lead to problems. I got wrapped up in watching RU-vid content that contained dangerous driving on public roads but have decided that I just don't agree with that so unsubscribed to most of it. That stuff should to be done at tracks, drag strips, and closed roads - I have to remind myself of that from time to time. Keep the content coming.

I stayed til the end. Good honest open info thanks. Congrats on your job. I highly doubt it was all "luck" that got you that job. Unless you call getting a degree, intently networking within the field you wanted, and sacrificing to get there. I know you're just being humble but I'm in a difficult to obtain kind of dream job so I know that there's very little luck involved in reality.

Supercars of phily explains extensively how he has had RU-vid help pay for his cars to justify owning them but he made his money from separate businesses. I don’t know why others feel so wrong for saying they got their money from somewhere else ? Glad those of u who are being honest can keep it real you know

I live by the motto, "Buying new vehicles is for the rich, companies, and dumb suckers. Good condition used vehicles are the best." I like my 8 year old $20k used 80k mileage Lariat Supercrew. It does everything a new $60k Lariat Supercrew does (minus the nannies, i.e. collision mitigation technologies).

I only buy cars for cash. It is ridiculous to pay for a depreciating asset with a loan. I don't drive beaters or hoopies either. I buy a car and immediately start saving for my next one. If I need to not pay myself because of a unexpected expense one month fine...try telling a finance company you won't pay them this month.

The reason why I watch one of my favorite RU-vid channels, StreetSpeed717, is he is open about how he affords his cars, etc, basically, he's a CPA (I believe) making a very good salary, because he busts his ass. And he shows his viewers how much RU-vid ad revenue he gets, too. And when he mods his cars, if there's a sponsor, he usually says so.
