Kind of reminds me of Bayonetta 1. When it first released, there was very little talk about how good it is, and the debate revolved around the nude scenes in combat and whether or not it's just a cheap Devil May Cry knockoff. It took a couple of years for people to realise how good it was and I bet that realisation would've hit home a lot quicker if it had a male protagonist..

By far the best game released this year with FF7 Rebirth, but Stellar Blade is my favorite. Just feels like good old fun, zero politics, just hot characters and insane action with great story and soundtrack.

I loved Stellar Blade. Normal difficulty is a bit easy especially with the revives that you can buy everywhere in the game. But New Game + On Hard is a proper challenge. I personally loved the dressup.

I'm currently playing it and it is an easy 9+ out of ten. It has great graphics, OST, very deep combat, fun exploration, good upgrade system, exciting enemies, solid writing. The only thing that is a tony bit weak is the parkour stuff.

Idk about "best soulslike" level discussions, but there is no doubt that it would still be a damn great game. The visual aesthetics are just a bonus and I see nothing wrong with enjoying the look of a beautiful woman. Why it angers so many, or why some people make it out to be some "lol go see real women, touch grass" elitism moment, I have no idea. We enjoy aesthetics about every single other aspect of videogames, like people are really into supercars of Gran Turismo, or cool weapons, amazing environments in good graphical detail etc. so... None of that also means it makes people unhappy about regular cars or normal life in general. So enjoying a good looking female protagonist is really no different to me. It looks damn good. Also doesn't make me think any less about real women. Why would it? I think Kratos has been also designed in a great way and there's not an ounce of me screaming he needs to put a shirt on or I won't ever have a chance or... lol, idk. Weird times in the world today.
