Maybe thats the point. I would want coffee if i did a nerd thing like talking in depth about every episode of game of thrones and the theories and opinions. "Nerds drink coffee like its soup"
Yusssss! You guys should seriously keep going with these. Finish up to the end of season 5 as originally planned.. and then RE-review all of season 6 and 7 too. I'm going to comment this on every video :D
Cersei didn't actually love Rhaegar, she just wanted to be a fairytale princess who married the dashing prince and who would thus make her queen. When Robert took the crown he was the King, he was a dashing, handsome warrior who had everything necessary to fulfil Cersei's dreams in place of Rhaegar. Thus is was Robert's own indifference that doomed the marriage and made Cersei focus all her love and ambition on her children.
@@davidjones272 Because she thought with Rhaegar would have been different. I doubt it, honestly. Maybe no abuse but still indifference. And she still a woman in a patriarchy
I love the way Gleeson delivers the line "Im going to serve it to Sansa on my wedding day" He says it like a little kid who thinks he's impressing all the adults with this great idea
Let's not forget that in the books, Cersie is the one that convinced Jamie to let her get him assigned to the king's guard by Aries so that they could be together...and Jamie is constantly attributing being chosen to the king's guard as one of the worst things in his life...Cersie selfishly had him ruin his life, disclaim CastileRock, his inheritance, and let's not forget, marrying another woman for the rest of his life.....she was selfish, controlling and manipulative way, way before Robert. Oh yeah, and she probably threw her friend down a well when she was 12 years old too.
@@weiyin8046 That's what got me excited. Although I admit I haven't read World of Ice and Fire so I don't know if it's any similar to that. But, this character Alysanne and her journey to the north that we see in the except is what really makes my want to read it and if there are more characters and stories like that in the book then a review or a podcasts about it might be very fun.
Everytime I see a comment mention fire and blood I sigh. Imagine if instead of grrrrrrrr martin writing fire and blood, he had devoted all his time to the book everyone actually wants, the winds of winter. Hopefully one day he will get around to finishing winds of winter so that he can take 7 to 10 years to write a dream of spring.
What if Martin does secretly have the book written and season 8 is just taking so long to come out so he could release the book first? I mean I know that's not true but.....what if? This would make my decade.
You guys Cercei was already fucktup in the head since she was a child, she made Joffrey the way he is. Remember in season 1 where Joffrey wanted to admit his defeat against Nymeria ?
They did such a good job with him in season 3 and early in season 4. But kinda ruined it by having him stay by Ceresei's side and the fact that he was part of that horrible Dorne plotline doesn't really help his character.
Bear in mind It pissed me off that they have kept Jaime as a bitch post Season 4, there were little things that allowed him to show his growth as a field general like when he took Riverrun. You saw a transformation of the man where he became almost Tywin-like as far as intelligence and winning battles sometime even without bloodshed. As far as Dorne, it seemed to be an issue mainly with the book readers. Personally it wasn't long enough so I could be pissed off about it. But the scene with Marcylla's Death was great.
How fucked up it is that the only thing that keeps you alive is loving a child from a man that you hate. Not that fucked up. I will say that has happened to many women throughout the ages where their only happiness was their children.
only thing i missed in memoriam was a shot of Talisa's stabbed belly titled "little Ned Stark" i kinda really expected that ;) - i am on my first series rewatch since season 8 & simultaneously rewatching my beloved nerd soup revisted series
Season three (and four) are horrifyingly disturbing lol between the Red Wedding and what happens to Theon and Arya at Harrenhal, where people are being tortured and maimed, it's an absolutely stomach-churning couple of seasons of television. And, just when you think it couldn't get any worse, or someone is finally going to catch a break, everything ramps back up to 11 again. It's like a real-life horror movie set in the middle ages. Good times. 👍😊
You guys are awesome. Breaking down my favourite show and bringing things to light I never thought of. I love this show and you guys make GOT more enjoyable, thank you
Awesome video as always guys. Just want to say thanks for helping me realise how damn good Rose Leslie's performance as Ygritte is in this show. I never realised it before, but she does play her character ridiculously well.
Damn this is the best GOT revisit you've done so far. Funny jokes, funny animations, a hate fuck reference, Kobe and LeBron clips, even a In memoriam section! Great Stuff! Too bad the title is wrong. (Oh, I see you fixed it).
Yeah that always pisses me off, that nobody calls him on it. Whether or not it's more honorable or whatever to kill a dozen at dinner than thousands in battle is irrelevant in this case, because *that's not what happened*!
Something I keep in the back of my kind when thinking about Tywin is that he knows that his family HAS to get to the top. With the gold mines of Casterly Rock depleted, hes seen what happens to families that loose the limited resource that makes them powerful. (The Targaryens.) If this generation dosnt make it to the Throne, it's likely that future generations wont have the funds or the military power to get near it again.
I have to say out of everyone we lost losing the horse breeder hit me in the gut the hardest....it changed my whole outlook of the show r.i.p for my ninja horse breeder, his character has always been missed 😥😥
The current plan, I believe, is to stop after 5x10 as they already did reviews for 6 and 7 when they were airing. I assume the sollution is something about Selyse seeing Old Mel while we for some reason don't.
The white savior thing was silly, I mean they were filming in Morocco, and just grabbed a shit ton of extras from the area, Martin had a great point about it haha, he was like..should we not have hired any of them and specifically sought out white extras? I think shit like that though is why she's so haughty in season 8, expecting the north to bow and worship her
*_"Really they just didn't want to deal with this giant fucking beast."_* If that where the case they should've made Greatjon stay in the kennels aswell. One of the Freys casually telling Jaime that it took 8 Freys to take him down whilst he was shitfaced is one of my favourite random book moments. xD
You are the best. I love the revisits. Had to stop watching some others that are going off the deep end with “leaks” and reports from Belfast. Thank you two.
Hahahaha 18:54, love the casual reference to the Pink Letter, I've heard theories that Stannis wrote it, Mance.. It makes sense for either since they'd have the Intel I mean in the beginning of winds Stannis finds out the karstarks are being sketchy, and has the maester, plus reek for the Intel to make it realistic.. it's doable. Fucking stupid that they act like Jon is being treasonous going after Ramsay, since he directly threatened the watch, and selling out Stannis family and Mel like it asks is also not being neutral
yeeeeeeah ! nerd soup that's on time!! that's even better then regular nerd soup ! we will take whatever you give us though, late soup , early soup , no matter lmao
I am SO late but, you say Tywin isn't getting anything out of all the things he does except being worthy of the Lannister name. But that IS everything to him. His deeds make him worthy of his name and "being worthy" is the one thing he will NEVER give to Tyrion despite all the thing Tyrion has done, the positions he's held, and who he has saved. Tywin is a workaholic who was likely raised to believe a day of rest is a day wasted. Even during the Battle of the Trident he was sunbathing, he was plotting. He gains everything by being busy, even if it looks like self-sacrifice.
Arya is a stark so I can see her killing a deserter of the nights watch just like her father and it’s very dishonorable in general but especially to northerners and starks who pass the sentence and swing the sword respect ✊🏾
Tywin and Walder are family, plain and simple. When high lords were slighting his family left and right, Tytos Lannister gave him his only daughter. That's huge. People criticize Robb for marrying into the family of a Lannister bannerman, but in breaking faith with Walder Frey he slighted someone who was apt to side with the Lannisters anyway. I don't know why that's never mentioned (by Northmen) in the books.
"Here comes the King in the North, King in the North!". I am so happy all the Frey's are dead. And the Bolton's. And the Lannister's are going to die too.
I'm not one for crying very often. Even in the Red Wedding, I was shocked, and teared up when Gray Wind was killed, and with Catlyn's final scream, but the scene where they bring out Rob's body with his wolf's head and chanting "King of the North!", I was so disgusted and heartbroken. It finally sunk in that my favorite character had died, and everyone had died, that I just started crying and I turned off the show and couldn't watch it for nearly two years. Even when I watch it now I get very choked up during that scene. RIP Robb
Yeah he workaround for Mel not wearing the necklace in the bath is Selyse is a true believer cultist, who buys into the illusion without her even having the glamour active
Love all the videos with you and the monkey. You guys sound like you’re having fun. Wish you didn’t sound so robotic though. You guys should SERIOUSLY do compilation videos of each character from GOTs. I like your comments about Stanis and “The Real” Daro. ...I feel the same way! 🤣👍🏻
Thanks for the kind words! Genuinely curious as to what you mean by sounding robotic. The way we speak or the audio quality? We appreciate all feedback lol!
