For me too, but GMs study old games in depth in order to know how to counter an opening without having to think too much about it, it's a staple of strategic games, especially turn based. If you want to see some incredible countering, watch some high level competitive Pokemon - the mind games go way further than chess.
20:21 _"but we're gonna check out that game tomorrow as well, unless it's like a really big snoozefest, then we're not"_ As an Englishman, I have to say not only is your English excellent, but your use of the phrasing, particularly in a comical sense, is brilliant & it often has me in hysterics. How I love your channel!!
Old Seadog it’s even more funny because it doesn’t seem like he is trying to be funny. His almost monotone voise( not a negative thing in this context) mixed with his hilarious way of using words makes amazingly comical moments.
No she's not smothered, Rook d3 can take Pawn a3, because Knight on b1 is pinned. @agadmator's Chess Channel can you explain, why the Queen can not move?
@@filint Rook b8 gives check would lead to black eventually losing bishop and a pawn. Not necessarily mate as cpu throttler says as White would only be up a knight. But black has a passed pawn, an active Queen and Rook with great open files and has white's king exposed. Game would need to be analyzed from here.
I was watching this live with Peter Svidler's commentary, made it damn interesting. Explaining all the complications behind every move. Along with the post game interview of the players. Especially when Carlsen took like 40 mins or so to make just 2 moves. It was so brilliant to see both of them find top engine moves even in such complicated positions. Very rich game.
MVL often tends to end up on the wrong end of the glorious plays on this channel, but this was a very nice game with both players having a clear plan I could understand. Definitely viewer-friendly.
#suggestion Would it be possible to cover the SEA Games 2019 Chess Games? The games are currently ongoing and there are up and coming players that we might see on the international stage. There are also some interesting stories behind some of the players as well. Might be something people are interested.
What a nightmare of a position. From the start Magnus is just completely overwhelmed with so many conflicting priorities. No idea how you're supposed to formulate a plan when black has so much freedom in continuing the attack and complicating the position.
You are from CROATIA? are you fliping kidding me? I ja sam isto iz Hrvatske!! Love it! An advice from me to you: It is really hard to understand what part the video is ,like part 3,4 , etc. because it is not in the title.
@@arunkumarchandrasekaran2653 The format was 30s delay per move and 130 minutes for the game (no additional time given). Most common classical time format is 30s increment per move and 100 mins for first 40 moves + 50 minutes for 20 more moves + 15 mins after 60th move.
Any video or books you guys could recommend? Ive been playing chess for 1week and i feel like im not getting better i have a 700-800ish rating in chess. Com
Kevin paul Masangkay depends on how good you wanna get. I would recommend learning the principal learning a few openings for white and black and playing ALOT of games. I’m on the same boat as you.
Actually this whole Qg3-g7 idea is not at all as bad as Agadmator would like us to believe. White ends up getting 3 pawns for the piece and Ivanchuk vs Palac at the Tournament of Piece recently showed that it is not at all that easy for black to play in these types of positions. He has 2 isolated pawns and whites pieces coordinate pretty well in general. Its easy to just look at what Stockfish says but they are humans and there are alot of other factors that come into play!
MVL games are always ways too crazy and complicated, thats beyond my understanding but I like the brave way of playing. I especially remember his win about Carlsen around two years ago, but don't remember the tournament.
This is a good match as they all are, but I get so confused when you play through an entirely different scenario than the original. Not just once, but multiple times lol. Still fun to watch though. p.s. Dont stop doing it. Im learning more..
why would carlson not play Kxe4? after bxe4 both pairs or rooks are traded off, after the checks on blacks king white recaptures the e4 bishop and is completely winning?
This kind of games are the reason why I never play e4, it can get so damn complicated so fast, I hate to lose track of all the hidden agenda. Great game to watch though!
12:21 is not playable for white cause it will be instant mate in 2 and even if you prevent it you'll just lose a piece bishop g capture e4 will be face bishop f capture e4 and after that you can't prevent mate, the rook is covering the f file and queen a1 will be mate. Capturing back the bishop is just mate
It would be nice if you told us a little bit about the tournaments in which the games are played.. I'm sorta new to the chess world and it's hard to have an idea about how important each game is.
Suggested improvement (i know this would add a lot of work and therefore may be impractical) but I would like the screen to have an identification of some sort (different colour board, label on screen etc etc) to distinguish the actual board during the game to the board during analysis
Stephen McQually well just pay attention to what he says, and if you dont want to put the sound on its a nice little game to try to see when he is talking bout the real game, and when bout variations
Finally we got rid of the disgusting conditions in India to a more worthy tournament in London, No more people coughing and goats walking around the hall plus random phone calls in the middle of a huge event, No good conditions not even for an animal.
No good conditions even for an animal ! You see goats playing chess. Must be some good stuff that you are smoking. Meanwhile London is the place where you will more likely feel a knife through your last meal.Knife attacks are the rage there. Be safe !
M V L and Ding are the only players today who can give a fight to Carlsen, the superman.. All others including my favourite Indian being an Indian are no big match as on date to Carlsen.. I wish Rapport and Radjabov played in this tournament...
Hello Agadmator, this is for example even more interesting game when U play black. Can U make video from black site if U have game like that? We see only one site and it can be something different than all the time. Thanks for Your work!
it means that you get 30s per move f.e if you have 45min and 34 sec you can never get more time than that but if you play your move in the first 30sec when you press the clock you will still have 45min and 34 sec. sorry i can't explain this better my vocabulary in english is very limited
