@@TheSpiritOfTheHero Yeah, I never looked into pirate lore all that much but even I had still heard of Captain Kidd and knew that he was a real pirate just like Edward Teach (Blackbeard), or Anne Bonny & Mary Read.

I wish all the awakenings had been this intense. Joker and Yusuke's were great too, Ann's was decent, but I thought Makoto, Yoshizawa and Haru's were super tame by comparison.

@@lick816 But that's how her awakening affected the environment - not *her.* At risk of sounding like a masochist, what made the awakenings that I liked work for me was how it physically hurt the characters to take of their mask and accept their rebellious natures. Compared to all the blood that Ryuji and Joker showed in theirs, or Yusuke grinding his fingers into the ground, Makoto kinda made it look like no big deal. It didn't seem to be as hard for her as it was for those other characters, so - at least to me - it wasn't as impactful as it could've been.

I wouldn't describe Makoto's awakening as tame but I did not find it as impressive because of Johanna. She was too tame. Also, Kasumi didn't even have blood the first time but the vow was cool with all the Cinderella puns.

Teddie's Persona is Chie + Yukiko with a little bit of Kanji and is somehow still absolutely terrible. Also Yosuke has the best third awakening skill.
