I looked up that they had 26 games. 26 GAMES! Thank the Lord they lost the money. If your gonna make a game that takes 3 or 5 months, at least make a (as I like to call it) a quick play game fun for the family!
Actually, I got dalmations 2 for christmas when I was a kid. After playing it for some time and sleeping through most of the cutscene, I've decided to send it back to where it belong, my garbage can that is. It's terrible even with my standard back then
since i talk spanish im gonna translate the part in 11:50 in the cover it says: "animal soccer world" includs: animated movie, puzzle, color the book, memory game. in the back of the game says: all its prepared for the biggest event of the year, the futboll game that everybody expected its going to beggin the fc wild dogs its going to play against the sv lion rock, the trainers of both teams still think in the positions of the players, today is the big day, the game its going to start, let the better team win. thats the best translation i can do of this shity game cover...
Turns out that Dingo didn't always give permission for their stuff to be used. Although they still make stuff, they mostly focus on corporate advertising now, probably because of Phoenix's behaviour. Interestingly enough, most of the titles that the 'games' (read: Shoddy Animations) were given completely different titles by Phoenix, probably so they could avoid copyright with Dingo. EDIT: Had Phoenix never gotten involved, Dingo certainly wouldn't have gained the infamy it now has. Looking at its website, it seems to really be a small company who stopped making anything significant years ago. EDIT: Also, Phoenix wasn't British originally, it was Dutch. It just so happens that most of their 'games' didn't sell well outside of Mainland Europe, and so they moved production of the discs to the UK instead.
Apparently, these discs only used just under a tenth of the total capacity of a PS2 disc and the discs themselves were so weak they could get warped and broken easily. This along with the obvious mockbuster undertone should technically qualify these games not just as shovelware but as bootlegs. How did Sony license these disasters? Were the executives held at gunpoint or something?
You got love when their first-person shooter is literally called “SHOOT” how redundant can’t wait for a platformer called “JUMP” and also a fighter game called “FIGHT”
fuck it being done in germany it looks like it was done in some shitty eastern european country, hand drawn in the back of a wrecked lada being pulled by a horse
one little thing i have to say: the "yee" meme is from italian version of "Dinosaur Adventure" by "Dingo Pictures" and "Pheonix Games" bought licences to use those movies by "Dingo Pictures" and that's why you see them
Actually, Dingo Pictures also animated short films for German clothing shops and they were played in a child corner. The animations were pretty much as shitty, but I knew that I recognise them from somewhere. Lovely video btw, as always
I actually started laughing nervously during that loading screen, after seeing the MB total. I was terrified of what I was going to see after it loaded, if it was having that much trouble.
Are you from Germany? Because from what I gathered from these comments, Dingo Pictures is used a lot in Germany, I went to their site too and nearly got radiation poisoning from looking at it, how it's used for advertising and whatnot... )x
We mostly watched German dubs of preexisting films. There was this one film I presume was originally made in German about an autistic boy who becomes friends with a horse, but that's about it.
This is the most funniest review I've seen. You did a great job ripping those mockbusters from Dingo Pictures apart. Not to mention you also tore Phoenix Games a new one (no wonder they were never released in the U.S.). Not to mention I love the part that you said about the cast of characters from "Animal Soccer World", which made me laugh.
@@Musicradio77Network Its stupid because when Sonic Adventure came out they used REAL pictures as textures and it worked perfectly for a game of that time...... It would of not taken any effort for LCC to do the same thing
So I'm almost 22 and I don't drink. I find it a nasty habit. However, these "games" make me want to raid my dad's liquor cabinet and find the most potent drink available. FFS!
Allow me to educate you on the Phoenix Games assembly line. Step 1: Horrible movie is produced by Dingo Pictures. Step 2: It is dubbed to Engrish and given to East-West Video. Step 3: East-West releases it on DVD. Step 4: A company called the Code Monkeys buys the DVD, rips the video, and takes a couple screenshots to put in their coloring page/slide puzzle minigame templates. Step 5: The "game" finishes "development" and it is sent to Phoenix Games. Step 6: They sell it to parents who can't tell the difference between 101 Dalmations and Dalmations 2.
+The Eagle Not just Disney, Don Bluth should slaughter Dingo Pictures too, because Dingo Pictures did some horrible cartoons that are mockbusters of a few Bluth films.
The saddest part abut this, is that ann indie developer team (that sometimes involves only one person) does a 10x better job than these people by today's standards. Look at games like Undertale made by Toby Fox. Fez by Phil Fish (as much e hate him) was made by one person.
+Claudio Teixeira He's Oro, the teacher of that green dinosaur with a red puppy dog nose. The way they design Oro like this, that'll give kids nightmares, due to having a horrendously deformed face like that.
GHB wow, pheonix games are games you get bored really fast, like I mean games like new super Mario bros, had mini games and more content in that. Pheonix game should've game called "pheonix minigames and animation", even Zelda cdi is better than this. 1 second ago•0
"3-5 months to make a quality game up to standards" LOL. Action 52 had about 3 months to its development time as well. It's clearly a quantity over quality business model.
Haha, same! My RU-vidr username and profile pic is one of the characters from Phoenix Wright. I was kind of shocked but I wanted to see his reasons why and then I re-read the title and completely flipped out.
You don't consider "Plumbers Don't Wear Ties" a video game, and yet you consider Phoenix Games' things as video games? I don't consider any Phoenix Games/Dingo Pictures "thing" a video game. It isn't interactive enough either. It's just a disk of a movie with games on it. It's like saying that a DVD with games on it is classified as a video game.
Yes. I find the interactivity of Phoenix Games garbage (aside from their actual games like London Cab Challenge, and w/e the fuck that game with the white vans is) strong enough to warrant them being called video games. I used to have a rule where if "it" could be played on a DVD player, I wouldn't consider it an actual video game. Then I realized you can play virtually every visual novel ever created on a DVD player and abandoned that ideology. Plumbers Don't Wear Ties is more of an interactive film to me and therefore doesn't fit my definition of what a game is or should be.
Way to go, Phoenix. YAAAAYYYY. Your games are some of the best I've ever seen. Amazing cutscenes. Great controls. I especially love the lack of music and the sound effects. (You can almost smell the sarcasm, can't you? XD)
A British game company with the name of a creature from Greek mythology that contracts a German animation company with an Austrailian name that has games that like they were animated by sleep-deprived Filipino workers on speed in a Korean sweatshop.
I did a double take on that song at 7:30. That language... is Dutch. It literally translates to "Here we are with all of us, having a good time, we're going to play a bit of ball, it's going to be a good match". From this point the accent and intonation of the voice actor clicked with me: that accent is 100% Dutch. And terrible.
A UK developer, named after a Greek mythological creature, works with a German company named after an Australian wild dog? These guys are all over the place!
lol, have you notice the same piece of music loops in animal soccer world and even when other music plays it stays in the background and never EVER stops?
Holy fucking shit... those Animal Soccer World cutscenes... I never laughed so fucking hard in my entire life, in fact I have a hard time writing this comment right here because of it! Oh, by the way, "Polizei" is actually a German word, which translates to, well, "Police"
All but two of the really REALLY shitty game companies are still up and running today, Kemco and Accolade. Kemco today currently publishes JRPG games while Accolade only exist as an in-name brand that was acquired by a Hong Kong based company.
I can't believe these games exist...how they haven't been sued for ripping off characters from Disney movies and The Land Before Time is beyond me, btw great review! :)
The voice actor of animal soccer is probably dutch, because the song they sing before the match is in dutch. It goes like: "we're here everyone, it's gone be great. Let's play some football, it'll be a great match
Animal Soccer World hurts my entire soul just like ride to hell games because of the voice acting is a son of the worst i've ever encountered in my whole life even generations of gaming
Super Genji They are not the biggest abominations the biggest will be these racing games like CrazyBus, Desert Bus or Big Rigs and makes me sad whenever I think of them. They ruined the game industry as possibly as they can and even I can do better, seriously.
yup no doubt about it, that day, lots of unfinished game also worst dating simulators like plumbers dont wear ties, that one i can remember how bad that game was
I'm pretty sure that Dingo Pictures didn't make the mentioned Mulan movie. I've watched a review of that movie, and it's animation (even though it is terrible) is far too good for a Dingo Pictures movie. Also, they regularly recycle characters, music and backgrounds in all their films, but I couldn't recognize anything in the Mulan movie from any of Dingo Pictures' "works".
Not to mention, some Phoenix discs can risk breaking your Playstation or make the loudest damn sound when it's loading in the console. So it makes it seem like it's going to explode!
I'm sorry to say it, but I still don't like Five Nights At Freddy's, it's gameplay is extremely shallow... -.- It's still better than these games though, obviously...
Five Nights At Freddy's is a very simplistic game but that had thought put into it, Phoenix Games just made turds of no value gameplay to speak of with terrible outsourced animation that look like shit
I guess Phoenix Games is even worst than LJN. If they are going re-release games in the US, I should bring back Castle Films, the company that used to manufactured home movies, and bring the extinct distributor back from the dead. Castle Films has not distributed home movies since 1977 when they absorbed into Universal 8. I wish Castle Films should bring it back from the dead and re-release cartoons from that godawful Phoenix Games and put it on DVD, Blu-Ray and online. This is trying to harken back to the cartoons that distributed Terrytoons, Ub Iwerks' ComiColor and the Walter Lantz cartoons. If I were Warren Cook or other people who made fake stuff, I will make a Castle Films opening and closing titles instead of Phoenix Games titles.
Correction: Mulan was not a Dingo Pictures Movie. There was a book by them but not a movie. as seen on German Wikipedia de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dingo_Pictures or the dingo pictures wiki. BTW: Phoenix Games got also a wikipedia entrance in germany. de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenix_Games
Hey DX, have your ever played the game; The Cat Lady? It's a horror/thriller (I'm a big horror fan) It's not a bad game, but I just wanted to tell you about it. Well, that is if you haven't heard of it. Or even played it. I really enjoy these episodes and series of yours, really funny and professional. Makes me laugh a lot. Also, Animal Soccer World was dubbed by a Danish company and made into small 15 minute long short films. I used to watch them as a kid and even though the animation was atrocious and horrible, the voice acting was much better than this dogshit. Even the synchronization with the animation and voice acting was good and the plots were actually decent. Anyways, keep being awesome, you also earned yourself a subscription! - Much love, from a loyal Danish fan :)
2 things: 1. I saw London Cab Challenge at a yard sale today. Thankfully, no one was buying it. Or looking at it (except me). 2. Those drag queen ducks at 6:25 look more like rejects from one of the Mad Max films to me. That or some gang out of a Saint's Row game.
Also from your video it appears that they reused some of the character designs between games because some of the the same exact dogs appear in both Animal Soccer World and Dalmatians 2/3 I'm not sure if the dogs in both "games" are the same characters or if they were just lazy and reused assets from a previous "game" (I'm gonna go with the latter option.)
I had a friend who knows German translate the back of Shoot's jewel case. It's apparently a collection of games, and judging by the screens, the quality must be debatable, at best.
These games are awesome! The voice acting and the music and cutscenes are top notch :D I want them to keep up the good work :) (Hell no, these games are so terrible, watching these cutscenes gave me a brain tumor.)
Only a minute in and i'm ashamed to find out that the developer was from the UK. Oh well we don't always have the worst video game developers, case in point - Rare and Rockstar Games.
You know I bet somewhere out in the world a person (namely me) wondered what would happen if you took 'The Lion King' and 'The Room' and put them together into one movie. Until I saw 'Animal World Soccer'; I didn't think such an idea would actually come into fruition!!
The Room is much better than any of these games. I Dont really think Combining the Lion King and The Room together would get this. The Room does not have repeated visuals, Missing Sound Effects, And bearly audible voice acting made by only 1 person.
and this was the era of games like crash twinsanity, sly cooper, ratchet and clank, kingdom hearts, metal gear, a few dragon ball z games, and a whole other shitload of awesome!
I love your channel. I couldnt agree with you more with this company/games. They were so bad I couldnt even finish the video you made cause im still in tears lmao
