Infinite wealth was so good. I loved every minute of it. This year ive played through all the Yakuza games and its become one of my favorite series ever.
I got into retro collecting recently and currently collecting for the Megadrive (what we call the Genesis this side of the pond). Completing those games is HARD
I haven't finished Rebirth yet (chapter 10) but there have been so many laugh out loud moments that take me by surprise - when Yuffie sees Scarlet and yells "Hey, it's that hag!" it made me laugh so loud 😂
Rebirth I was doing a lot of the sidequests/mini games up until Ch9 where I was starting to be a bit over it and getting a bit bored, and then it clicked to me "hey you don't actually have to do that stuff" and then I just charged ahead with story only as much as possible. Highly recommend, I found it much more engaging and I also felt pretty under-levelled and appropriately challenged. It's also made going back on hard mode/post-game content a lot more interesting, I think. I can see why you like to skip that sort of content.
I've finally gotten around to playing through Dragon Quest 11 and I'm loving it! The moment Sylvando opened his mouth I knew he was going to be one of my favorite characters of all time.
I’ve beaten a few games this week too. Just finished Stellar Blade, Final Fantasy I, WarioWare: Move It, and Animal Well. All completely different from one another 😄
I absolutely LOVED Infinite Wealth! Having just finished it I gotta say I really enjoyed it. SO glad it's become my gateway into the rest of the series! Also If I had a dollar for every time I heard "akane-san"... hahaha
I liked your individual game reviews too but, i agree that this series is more fun. Great video! Im right at the end of a couple games. Currently playing through 3 different games.
Definitely feel the same way you do about side quests! Thanks again for talking about your experience with FF7 Rebirth, too. I *definitely* agree with you on the forced mini games, and ugh there were just soooo many!!
I just finished two amazing Meteoidvanias: Prince of Persia The Lost Crown and Tales of Kenzera: ZAU. Both settings are very cultural and I love learning about other cultures, especially the mythology. I also ended up getting Paper Mario and The Origami King with the Nintendo Voucher along with pre-ordering The Thousand Year Door.
Well done! How did you like Prince Of persia? :) I played the demo with the Persian voices, with was fun, but it will take some time before I get to play it (to many backlog games)
Wow! You knocked out some big hitters! I was really inspired by your goal of completing 20 games this year. Last year I finished 69 but I felt so burnt out. I decided what you were aiming for was on point and would allow me to be more selective and really enjoy the experiences. I’m on game 13 out of my goal of 25 and I’m having a good time. Keep killing it, love!
I went back to Atelier Firis and got Ilmeria’s ending! The gameplay felt tedious at times because you can only fast travel to places in the same area, but I was pretty pleased with it and will probably replay it in a few years to see some things I missed!
Such a fun variety of games! I still need to play Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth. April I was on a Star Wars kick. It was a lot of fun but now I'm taking a break from Space 😂. Games I completed April are: -Star Wars Jedi Survivor -Star Wars the Clone Wars -Unicorn Overlord -Super Star Wars (SNES) -Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic -Star Wars Episode One The Phantom Menace -Star Wars Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast -Kinect Star Wars; Jedi Destiny, Dark Side Rising
Awesome video, Paige! Sadly I haven't had time for Princess Peach Showtime, but I'm gonna dedicate so much time for Paper Mario TTYD, can't wait for that one!
Great games! Agreed on some of the Rebirth minigame fatigue, but I loved it nonetheless. After beating that, I went to the Trails in the Sky trilogy on my Vita and beat the first and am half way through the second. I’ve ambitiously decided to play through all the Trails games this year
I discovered ur channel today and i feel your enthusiasm towards gaming much as i do. FF7 is my favourite game of all time and cant wait for part 3 obviously. Need to get around to infinite wealth as i love the Yakuza series, will be checking out ur videos. Thanks!
Great list Paige! I have only beaten two games so far this year, FF16 and Rebirth. I’m currently playing Eiyuden Chronicles. But I couldn’t agree with you more about the forced mini games in Rebirth. It was killing me lol. I was honestly over it after Costa Del Sol. I also feel like some parts of the game were unnecessarily drawn out far longer than they needed to be. Overall I enjoyed the game but I hope part 3 won’t have the mandatory mini games and I could also do without the repetitive World Intel Missions. It got stale after doing those in every area 😆
I love FF7 Rebirth, but I hit a fail state, and I will have to start the whole game over. Remember when you go to the town under Junon and will have to fight the flying boss on the wood planks. You have to make sure your levels are high enough because you will not be allowed to leave town to go and grind again and you have to have people that use magic or can hit aerial creatures, or you will be locked on a save that will not allow you to swap party members or warp out of town. I learned the hard way.
Thank you very much for your videos. Always enjoy seeing them. For me, Infinite Wealth is also my game of the year so far. Just fantastic. I lived in Hawaii for over 20 years and it really did my heart good to see some of that Aloha spirit come thought in the game. I was just fantastic on all levels. Down the road, I may go back in and do a NG+ run. I've been playing role playing games since the early '90s and it is so good to see so many RPGs coming for the next couple of years. Although it would be tough for me to play another big game RPG right on the heels of finishing the latest Yakuza, I am kind of chilling right now with Dave the Diver. Although technically it is not a JRPG, It is an excellent game that I highly recommend to anyone. Very relaxing and really fun! Next RPG for me is going to be Eiyuden Chronicles 100 Heroes. Everything I have heard makes me think it is perfect for me. After that, I am going to jump into (based on your recommendation) is Star Ocean Second Story "R". This also looks perfect for me and my tastes. Thank you again for the wonderful content. I look forward to whatever you have coming next. You are making a real difference out there.
I agree with the Mini games. I would like the choice, I like playing a couple games of Queens Blood but not for like 1hr forced. the mini games like Crazy Taxi in Like a Dragon is presented to you but then it's your choice to play. I have started to avoid Mini games in FF7 because they made a great main game and I just wanna continue the story of that.
I was seeing some of the FF7 rebirth streams, and I noticed so many mini games. It's one of the reasons I haven't picked it up yet. I loved remake though. The og ff7 is still my favorite.
the only game i've beaten in the last month or so is a Pokemon ROM hack called the Kanto Expansion Pass. it takes cut concepts and beta pokemon from Red and Green's early development and elements from games all the way from Scarlet and Violet and blends them seamlessly into a classic pokemon experience. it's all free and open source, and you can tell the developers had a lot of fun making it. they have a discord server that's really helpful and friendly. i really enjoyed it, but its core audience i people who've played RBY a million and five times and are looking for a new take on those mechanics specifically.
I recently completed Norco, a storybook video game based in Norco, Louisiana. I solved it on the Xbox Series X, but you can buy it on PC and PS5. Right now, I am figuring out which game to complete next.
I recently finished Spiderman, Castlevania Rondo of blood, Trek to Yomi, Gunlord X, Gleylancer, and GTA 5. Now I'm currently playing Uncharted 4, Sifu and Final Fantasy Remake. Also i love the Yakuza series but i only finished Yakuza Kiwami but i plan the play the rest soon
I got bogged down with a lot of the side quests and mini games in Rebirth because I didn’t want to miss anything. I kind of want to replay the game now just focusing on the main story because those were honestly the best parts of the game. The gaps between those peaks kind of brought me down a bit, but still a great game.
Still playing Princess Peach Showtime,I definitely am enjoying it. Also still playing Unicorn Overlord and am also just getting into the Fuga Melodies of Steel games. Also trying to finish Kena Bridge of Spirits, playing Disgaea 7, Eiyuden Chronicle,Yurukill The Calumination games, revisiting The Dot Hack G.U games....dang, I am definitely all over the place lately! 😄 But,I am having fun so that is all that matters
Playing Sea of Stars finally now the physical edition is out. Been wanting to play it since it came out but wanted it for my collection. About 6 hours in and loving it. In particular the easy mode relic options, I think I might get it finished this month.
Great list I can't wait to continue Yakuza Kiwami as I'm playing them in order. I've only finished a few games this year so far: Highway Blossoms, Life After Magic, Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure and Unicorn Overlord I'd recommend all of them. I'm really close to finishing Mary Skelter 2, I've been playing this off and on since November last year. Other games I've been playing are the demo for Summer at the Edge of the Universe, Odin's Sphere and Melty Blood Type Lumina.
Great video! I intend to play all of these games someday. I'm playing Yakuza 1 on ps2, cuz im determined to experience it all. Peach, I'll get during Xmas, and FF7 I'm actually waiting for a bundle pack with all 3 games in it. I have no idea if they release that, but I wanna wait until it's "done" before I start it. I said that years ago when they announced Remake and I'm sticking to it. Also thanks for not spoiling anything. 😀
I beat Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes, now i'm playing Octopath Traveler (bought it back in 2020 or something, didn't play till now). Also, waiting for SMT V Vengeance to drop, that's going to be the game i'm probably going to spend most of my time when it releases.
It's always nice to see a Femtrooper video pop up in my notifications. I doubt I'll ever play Infinite Wealth, it's just too long for me, but it does sound good. It's the same issue I have with Persona - I think I'd like it if it was half the length. This month I've played: Megaton Musashi W Wired (mecha RPG); Rustler (medieval GTA); Fable II (this one's a replay, I first played this about a decade ago). Now I'm on to Cryptmaster, which is a dungeon crawl crossed with a word game.
You played three great games this month. Thank you for not giving any spoilers for Final Fantasy 7 rebirth and I guess really all the games you played. I haven't had a chance to play rebirth because of other commitments and games. I had to play first but I'm excited to get into it and I'm happy to hear you really enjoyed it. I feel you on the mini game things. I don't think they should be forced.
Definitely 3 solid games on your list and all 3 which I own but haven't played yet. I also have yet to finish Yakuza: Like a Dragon but I may have to after hearing you talk about it and how it's related to Infinite Wealth. Thanks for that info. I personally have finished one game so far this year (which ties my total from 2023), and that game is Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Wow, is that a great game. Recommended. Take care!
….me in Costa del Sol for the first time: Why? No. Let me out! Other than that, love love it. :). …Noting I also never want to chase an (optional) Moogle child around again.
Nice set of games! So glad infinite wealth was even more enjoyable for you 😁 I also hate forced mini games. I made the decision to have only a switch as primary console (waiting the 2th). Playing game one by one. I have no backlog anymore (so glad). Currently playing octopath traveler 2.
Omg I just discovered your channel and you look cool. As a grwon man myself I like it when I see grown woman talking about video game and passionate about it. And beautiful smile too
I have been playing Harvestella and loving it. My wife loves the music (and I agree). I also picked up Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I have been wanting to play it for years but I hesitated due to the mixed reviews. Your endorsement of the game was the push I needed to bite the bullet. Also agree with side quests. I hate them haha
Stellar blade, ffvii remake, ni no kuni and finally chrono trigger currently. I will check out like a dragon though since you are so positive about it 😉
I love FF7. It’s in my top 3 with Xenogears and the Trails series. I loved FF7 Rebirth … those mini games were ridiculous too much. I even feel that about another series I love which is the Yakuza series. I love Rebirth more than Remake but I lost my cool when I was forced to do a mini to PICK A GODFORSAKEN MUSHROOM
I finished Unicorn Overlord and went right into Xenoblade Chronicles 3 to finally finish it. I finished the main game and then started playing the DLC which is pretty much another game with 40+ hours of gameplay. So glad I got back into Xenoblade Chronicles it's been a fantastic ride.
@@femtrooper This is one that I started playing when it came out and then stopped, picked it up again, stopped, and then finally finished it on the last try.
I did a ton of side quests and mini games in Infinite Wealth, like a psychopath I haven't played the Peach game yet but I've been poking the Yoshi game they made and it is simple fun I like it
I think I'm going to pick up Princess Peach Showtime now. That looks pretty fun. Lately, I've been playing Monochrome Mobius ever since Davidvinc highly recommended it, as well as going back and playing Golden Sun, and I'm playing through the original Fable with one of my friends.
I only played Yakuza 0,1,2,7 before playing Infinite Wealth. I had to avoid Kiryu quests and save it for a replay. FF7 REbirth, I got bunt out by Junon. So much fluff. I'll come back to it. I been having more fun with the SaGa games lately and some older games.
Well done! those are some long games, you made it through :) I am glad to have finished Persona 4 Arena, Persona 4 ultimax and "DLC". Arena was unnecessary painful. The general story is actually pretty nice, but because they wanted to make the game longer, by having you replay story parts as a different person, it made it frustrating. Because those moments are about half an hour with next to know new important information. It also tells you in the button of scene that you can skip, but you can only skip if you have played it before as that character. So even if you have seen it while playing Yousuke, you still need to see it as Chie, Yukiko and Yu... It felt like they wasted my time. BUT I do have to say, it ended up being "okay" because Ultimax which is the continuation of the story, was set up so much better. So it flowed better and was a much better experience. I started with hating Persona Arena Ultimax and ended with me looking at it fondly. I am glad to have played it all. I played Tangled Tower, which was a short 5 hour experience, that I happen to start far to late in the evening and I refused to go to bed before it was done. I have been eyeing it for a long time and finally pick it up. It was actually pretty fun, I love Penny
I've finished Mario vs Donkey Kong that was allot of. So was Princess Peach Showtime I am curious what where some of the characters you like playing as Peach for me Soward Fighter, Ku Fu, and Ice skater where the ones i enjoyed the most. I also beat Unicorn overlord which is my game of the year. And right now I am on Stellar blades.
I played and beat like a dragon infinite wealth as my first game after a 2 week stay in the hospital emergency room, it was a chill game to play while recovering. I liked the characters a lot in it. I liked Princess Peach Showtime but yeah it's incredibly easy, cool idea though for a game. I thought the graphics were the stand out thing with FF7 Rebirth, game just looked beautiful. The story was pretty good and new to me because I had quit the original ps1 game at that point where rebirth takes place. The forced mini game stuff didn't bother me too much but yeah I ignored all the ones you didn't have to do in order to beat it. I would suggest for you Sandland, I just beat that and I thought it was pretty good
The more I think about my backlog and upcoming games, I’m going to have FF7 Rebirth as a Christmas/birthday gift. Played Stardew valley and sank 80 hours in before forcing myself to stop and play other games lol. Stellar Blade and Yoshis island Snes are the current games I’m playing.
I just finished Spider-Man 2 on PS5 recently. I am now working on a game called Lost Judgement for PS5. It is a Yakuza spin-off title. I really like it so far.
I've been playing Persona 3 Reload which has been cute. I played Persona 5 Royal first and with 3 I miss the cat the most, haha. I also really don't like the suicide imagery even if I get why they choose that and that there's a cultural difference.
Sometimes! It’s all about what I’m feeling and sometimes it’s just a bunch of JRPGs back to back and then I’ll randomly play something else. It’s just how I feel!
I recently finished Final Fantasy 10. I thought it was good but not great. It's mostly a linear game. Some of the bosses are difficult. I think you might like it. I am looking forward to trying Rebirth. Hopefully the mini games aren't too hard. Are they difficult?
I loved infinite wealth and glad the mini games are optional but because of it I was able to learn the gist of poker I'm no professional but before the game I sucked at it so thanks sega and ichiban lol
Playstation 4 player here, I completed two games lately, Elden Ring and The Artful Escape. The games I'm gonna do over the summer is Borderlands, Cyberpunk 2077, Dark Souls 2, Evil West, Fallout 76, Hogwarts Legacy, Judgement, Red Dead Redemption. It'll be a lot. What are your goals for this summer, Femtrooper?
Haven’t played FF7 rebirth yet. It’s 70$ USD so I’ll wait for price to drop just a bit 😊 Have you played Sea of Stars yet? It’s excellent and the physical version just released.
I enjoyed Peach more than expected but less than I would have wanted to, if that makes any sense, then again I'm not the main demographic so that it was enjoyable at all should speak volumes. Probably. Anyhow... Rebirth... certainly was a ride, personally I'm conflicted by it for multiple reasons. In particular I don't like how they handled some things near the end, though it depends too much on how the 3rd part will handle the aftermath.
Yeah cool modern games. If you really want to play good games I suggest whenever you have a chance to do so is play any top tier Sega Genesis for the side scrolling, beat em ups, air plane shooters etc or the fighting games.... For the 3D experience just play any top tier PS1 game.
I agree with your opinion on FF7 Rebirth. It's a great game, but not entirely for me. Some of the later dungeons were dragged out and I hated the forced minigames. I have a little bit of an open-world-fatigue thing going on. So while I liked that the world was filled with stuff to do and to discover, unlike in FF16 where the world was empty and you could find 3 gil if you explored, I still felt it wasn't quite there yet due to all the actions repeating in every zone. You enter a new zone, and it's the same old towers to activate again. I was playing Yakuza Like a Dragon when I started FF7 Rebirth, and I praised Yakuza for its minigames, and then I hated the minigames in FF7 due to them being forced. Still it was a great game in the end, awesome graphics, music and character interactions! I've since finished Yakuza Like a Dragon, but haven't started Infinite Wealth yet. Currently taking a break with Tales of Berseria. I'm very much looking forward to Infinite Wealth though, so I think I'm going to toss a coin to see whether I'll play Dragon Quest 11 or Infinite Wealth after!
@@femtrooper I am absolutely loving it! From the beginning, it felt like coming home after a long day of work. It doesn't do anything special and doesn't really excel in anything. But I'm enjoying the artstyle, character interaction skits, running around the (mostly empty, since it was a PS3 game in Japan) map collecting floaty thingies to open special treasure chests, sending the crew off on a ship to bring back loot on a real world timer like it's a mobile game, combat (even though I have no clue what I'm doing. I just created chains with attacks of each element and spam those which the enemy is weak to) and being the evil guys in the story so far.
I recently beat Peach Showtime like last Saturday recently. I got 100% because I can’t not 100% platformers lol. In anticipation for Paper Mario TWD remake, I’ve been chipping away at Zelda BOTW shrines. I also always 100% Zelda games and unfortunately if I want to keep consistent I’m gonna get 100% in both BOTW and TOTK.
Those mini games in FF7 Rebirth sounds like it could piss me off, the game is apparently like Jak 3 in this regard and the latter game drove me up a wall regarding that. I'm going to try getting Princess Peach Showtime at a convention soon, the game looks like a spirtual sequel to Puppeteer on PS3 so the game has that going for it. It's a little over priced but all Nintendo 1st party games are kind of that. I'm not sure if I will play a Yakuza game anymore, the status quo of the series rarely ever changes and I played the series up until 6. They really copped out by not having Kiryu die and they hyped up 6 to be his last game, RGG copped out big time by pulling those punches in spite of the game's marketing at the time.
I'm enjoying FF7 Rebirth so far even though i hate that there's a stupid time limit when making choices during conversations between two characters which i hate when games rushes me to make choices. I do love that the game has open world which is one of the things love most in a video game since i love the freedom to do what i want and go anywhere i want even though some gamers complain about too many games being open world nowadays. I hate the ATB battle system with passion. I hope the 3rd game gives us the jump button to actual jump especially the high jump that Cloud did during the Bahamut fight in the Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children movie. I predict that the 3rd game is going to be linear especially since Rebirth is not doing well enough financially for Square Enix's expectations. Games I've been playing as of late are FF7 Rebirth and Sand Land.
@@femtrooper It's a pretty nice game even though am not a fan of the weak dodging system and the hand-to-hand combat isn't that exciting based on what i played so far. That game makes me feel like drinking water. I like that it has some certain Dragonball elements. Also, i like that i can battle enemies with vehicles. One of the things i don't like about the game is having to press the x button to continue the dialogue of the characters in some cutscenes. I don't like that the game has fall damage which is one of my biggest pet peeves in video games. I love that the game is open world. I now give the game a 6 out of 10 so far.
I've been playing Eiyuden Chrocnicles and I'm over 80 hours into it and its a decent game, I've also downloaded Stardew Valley after seeing so many positive reviews but I'm not sure the game excites me enough to start it, still on the fence with that one
