It was established in the episode of the Clone Wars that the Force has existed long before the Mortis "Gods", and that they were once mortals themselves.

When GW announced they partnered with Amazon for a WH 40K tv series, I was thrilled, because nothing screams "preserve the integrity of the lore" like handing it over to a mainstream media giant. I'm sure this will go perfectly well, right? Maybe, if we're exceedingly lucky, it will get stuck in development hell forever. I mean, just picture it: the ominous, gritty universe of 40K reduced to a flashier, shallower version of itself, trying to cater to the broadest possible audience. As soon as 40K starts rubbing shoulders with mainstream entertainment, you can bet your last bolter round it'll get riddled with all the mind-numbing clichés we dread, watered-down lore, characters stripped of complexity, and, of course, an avalanche of identity politics. Instead of the profound and dark storytelling we've cherished, expect moral lecturing about social justice issues that no one in the fandom ever felt were relevant to the 41st millennium. Imagine the grim darkness of the far future, now interrupted by preachy dialogues about contemporary social themes, shoehorned into a universe built on endless war and nihilism. Because what 40K fans have always desperately craved is for their favorite universe to transform into yet another mainstream platform for Hollywood’s latest cause of the day. Honestly, 40K was better off as a niche treasure, savored by those who appreciate its sheer, unapologetic brutality and depth. But hey, why not just turn it into a soapbox for identity politics, completely missing the point of what made the franchise special in the first place?

Good. I'd rather it be cancelled than INFECTED. Don't let GW use Amazon as a scapegoat. They were MORE than happy to hear Amazon demand this b.s. GW WANTS to make all the changes that Amazon wants. I bet GW wants to make this game one of the wokest EVER MADE. But they know 99% of their fans would hate that, so they don't. They are just WAITING, LOOKING for an excuse or a scapegoat to do it.

It's so frustrating to see so many companies make things for people that don't REALLY want it. Sure, on Twitter they'll say they love it, and that they want it, and that it's "their turn to see themselves in it". But they don't REALLY care. They won't buy the games, the models, or watch the show. They don't care about these franchises - they care about being able to control companies. That's IT.

Figured drop in some pre-disney lore, mostly from the Expanded Universe: The Father, The Son, and The Daughter are NOT the source of the Force, they are simply representations of the infinite struggle within The Force. The Daughter is the Light Side, The Son is the Dark Side, and the Father is the Balance. The Son and Daughter constantly try to destroy each other, while the Father tries to keep them both from gaining an advantage over the other. And as insane as it is, they all love each other as a family. No one can realistically replace either of them since the Force chose them for that purpose. There is however a being that emerges much later who at first was a regular woman who became stranded on their world. She became their adoptive Mother, and while she had no real power, she achieved a kind of peace between all of them, albeit temporarily since the Light Side & Dark Side are polar opposites, seeking the destruction of the other. And in her desperation and madness, she went to the Wells of the Light & Dark, places on the planet that were saturated in the power of either. Unfortunately, this act changed her into a malevolent being who was stripped entirely of her humanity, and she became a far worse threat than all 3 could possibly imagine. It literally took the powers of all 3 to bind & contain her. And the only place they could see where she could do no harm to anyone was the blackholes in the center of the galaxy. That being is called Abeloth, a being who has an insatiable hunger for power and chaos. And unfortunate for the 3 and everyone else in existence, she can NEVER be killed, only thwarted, and pushed back. Also, the Father, Son, and Daughter do eventually die and are never seen or heard from again. But the Force still remains. It is not male, or female, it simply a will that has good, evil, and balanced facets to it, just like humanity. And even say the Sith & Jedi are utterly wiped out together, the Force will still make it so more of both emerge later. Disney is taking stuff from the EU as they have done multiple times before, twisting it, then claiming it as their original work, when really its just bastardized plagiarism. In a way, you could say that Kathleen Kennedy IS Aboleth, when you consider what Aboleth is about, and what KK has done to Star Wars.

So we now know who ruined Tolkien's vision.

Man I miss the Revan story ark. Back in the day when light and dark where more of a morale gray question and about how it is implemented, the force being equal and turned to light or dark depending on the welders application. What could be considered dark powers could be used for good and light be used for evil. Now every thing has to fit in a nicely packed black or white box.

It’s sad the 40k live action could be cancelled, but it’s for the best if companies like Amazon have their way.

The EP is also in charge of securing funding for the production of the IP so therefore if Amazon stalls too long Henry should be able to go and find another source of funding outside of Amazon and influence games workshop to change production companies at the end of the license assuming there are clauses in place to protect games workshop IP which I hope they're not desperate or dumb enough to forgo in pursuit of getting anything done. Mind you tho I'm not a lawyer and have just enough knowledge on film production to be dangerous. So could be off or wrong so consider this my two cents to fund the production.

In some of the final episodes of clone wars, the animated series, Yoda and R2 go to some kind of pocket type dimension that’s the source of all Midichlorides and the force in the galaxy. What happened to that? We just ignoring that

There is an interesting concept to what you said, Endymion, when it comes to Mortis gods. It sounds like Acolyte will go beyond that as well to the point of sabotage. The irony is that SW Rebels had the Bendu, a character of the force who only represents the force. He is neither for the Sith nor the Light, representing balance (like the Father) and seeing both sides as an extreme. He helps Kanan to "see" by using the force, but wasn't the sort of character to be crossed when confronted. To him, both sides were "evil," regardless if you considered your actions as noble. Honestly, I like the concept of the Bendu, but it's likely that The Acolyte will ignore this in what the force was supposed to be, and that was Balance. If they push this ideology through, characters like the Bendu would be thrown out or rewritten for the sake of their own virtuism. Even in the Mortis episode, the Father saw the son and daughter as extremes that ultimately cancelled each other out.

And yet some wondering why modern movies games comics shows are failing 🙄 they never learn anything from failures they destroy everything they touch

I feel that these developers and writers are only going to realize that they’re destroying IPs once they’ve burned the entire audience. The chase for this nonexistent “modern audience”, the abrasiveness of getting “the message” across”, and the gaslighting is not it. Star Wars is definitely dead and it’s better that Warhammer is shelved rather than perverted like the Witcher was.

We need to buy GW stock when Amazon invariably let it tank and try to buy it up on the cheap. Have the fans be in control - to a degree :)

The Son and the Daughter are just embodying the Light and Dark sides. The father is more of a balancing figure between the two, though none of the three ARE the Force. There is also the mother, who became a monster now known as Aboleth, who is pretty much a force of nature at this point. But they aren't the Force, they just embody certain aspects of it. But when they died, the force remained the same.

the sith were so powerful because of the rule of two started by darth bane. the master trains the apprentice in everything he knows, the apprentice learns new things, the apprentice strikes down their teacher and they become the master, more powerful than the last. there is no evidence that disney: star wars is cannon nor is it obligated to be treated as such.

Could make for a middle-ground and make The Daughter/Son not embodiments of the force, but instead make them so strong in their respective sides that they act like a nexus. Massive amounts of power and influence, but still just mortals ramped up on their connection. They aren't the Force itself, but just very powerful representations of the Light/Dark elements. This would also allow for the Night Sisters to be their own thing on top of it all.

Sounds like a big problem is that any of these companies are not giving the artist full control to make the picture. Companies are horrible.. they want 10 chiefs 20 cooks to make one dish. Bastilla was also a very powerful jedi yet no one complained about her battle meditation this all falls down onto contextualization and the ability to tell a good story without lecturing the audience ad nauseam. if they really lean into the gods of mortis, theres a possibility of a fandom return depending on how disney sticks the landing.

The mortis gods aren't the force itself they are the avatars of each part. The purist form of the force. The daughter bathed in light spring, the son drank from the font of the dark, and the father did both. Abaloth was the technical mother, doing both like the father. But since she was a regular human it made her into a cthulhu monster.

When a big company like Amazon offers a smaller company like Games Workshop a deal to make their IP into a movie or show they need to create a clause where the bigger company can’t make any changes to the IP

For the father son and daughter part, they do not represent the force, well kinda but not really. The force is not their power, they are the descendant of a race of extreme power in the force and are basically the last survivors of this race but they are not the force itself. They are not as deep of characters as it might seem at first. The son is tempted by the dark, the daughter follows the will of the force which is represented by the father, so usually the daughter does what she thinks the father wants, and the son works for himself.

I saw that (two part I believe) episode a few years ago and I think you're mistaken. They are not the source of the force, just extremely powerful "higher beings" of a sort. The father tries to convince the son to give up the dark side, as I recall, and all 3 of them die in the end, i believe. If they were the source, then the force would die when they did.

The worst thing you can do is to personify the force. It kills the magic of the setting. The only way it can work is to confine it by semioptics by creed, myth, faith and superstition, to each their own vision and simbols.

Caville should team up with FlashGitz and produce Space King. that 10 minute short was better than almost anything GW ever produced
