Gangotri, literally means “the glacier where the holy river Ganga originates”. A lesser-known fact about Gangotri landscape is that it is a marvellous biodiversity hub, with habitats varying from temperate forests and sub-alpine scrubs, to alpine meadows. This varied landscape is home to more than 200 species of birds, 80 species of butterflies, 20 species of mammals and numerous species of moths and wildflowers.
The film is made under the Green Hub Central India (GHCI) fellowship, a project of Dusty Foot Foundation and Mahashakti Seva Kendra (MSK), that looks at empowering youth in environment conservation, sustainable agriculture and livelihood through the digital medium.
GHCI is supported by Bharat Rural Livelihood Fund (BRLF)
