I bought one of these and like it a lot. The action is as good as any knife I have, better than the Benchmade I sent back. The blade is razor sharp and Ganzo's 440C has shown to be quite durable. This is another hit from Ganzo and a great addition to anyone's collection. Thanks for the review, hope you're feeling better.

@@Lemonhoko More importantly, you can't patent a blade shape, and Benchmade's Axis Lock patent expired years ago. The G727 is perfectly fine as a design.

I really do like my RAT 1 with D2, it is a fine knife indeed. I feel bad, I was dumb and used it for some corrosion testing -- I should never have done that on a numbered knife. So now it has some minor pitting on the side of the blade but still fully functional.

Nice review! Most of my Ganzo's including my 727M can unscrew from both sides on pivot, seems they just put a stronger locktide on pivot side...
@CanadianCuttingEdge
@CanadianCuttingEdge 4 года назад
Yes, many (maybe most) Ganzo knives are free spinning. It is really worthwhile for a Ganzo collector to buy a small vice to hold the knife while using two screw drivers (one on each side) to undo the pivot screws. At least that is how I do it, it saves a lot of frustration and much fewer stripped screw heads.

I just bought one today (03/14/2023). Actually bought two Ganzos. An FH923 and an FB727S, both with black G10. I'm going back tomorrow because there are a few more Ganzos that arrived. I want to see which models they brought in today. I hope they also brought in the standard 727.

Hello Jake. Yesterday I just received my FB160, and when I open the knife a quarter of the way, there is a clicking sound. Also, if I shake the knife there is a clicking sound. Any suggestions?

I shorten my FB727s knives by taking the back of the blade to a medium-coarse diamond stone. I come in at about a 30 degree angle until the blade is right at 3” then I contour the spine until it closely resembles the profile of the original blade. I don’t touch the cutting edge. I blend the appearance of the spine into the original part of the blade with EZ-lap diamond hones. Takes about 45 min.

I like the lock and the small size. I think I need to buy this. Is there a better choice under $25US with an axis lock and for medium-sized woman hands? A flipper would be great, but I can’t find one at this price. Good review, thanks.
@CanadianCuttingEdge
@CanadianCuttingEdge 3 года назад
It is not often that you find an axis lock knife that also has a flipper. Have you checked out the FH61? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O0Fu7hekkdA.html or the FB762 - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rttsUrH0hDM.html I think you have asked about the F753M1 - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LndhFXH2D6U.html all 3 are in stock in some colours at powercutlery.com and use coupon code cce to save 5% - if you have not used it before, sadly the coupon only works once per customer

@@CanadianCuttingEdge I see button-lock flippers are becoming a thing. Tangram Vector and Kizer Swayback are too expensive. Kershaw Dimension might be found on eBay. Don’t like the snooty rhino looks of the FH61. :) The 762 is good looking and light. Will consider it. Thanks for your help finding the right knife!

Any LEO who takes issue with 0.07” of extra blade is going to find something to pick a fight over no matter what. If anyone is really, honestly concerned about this, suggest you don’t carry a knife at all because you’re headed for trouble. Any decent human being who bothers to confront you about your pocket knife is going call that a 3” blade and send you on your way. They would also have a difficult time articulating to a judge how they measure 70 thousands of an inch in the field. Better see that calipers he carries on his duty belt.

I have not been putting the measurements on the screen for several months. It seems like a small thing but overall it adds a lot of time to editing the videos and while I am still somewhat ill I am taking a more minimalist approach. I cannot sit at a desk very long before I just have to lay down or get in a recliner. Hopefully I will get much better soon.

Does the 727M also use ball bearings, or does it use washers?
@CanadianCuttingEdge
@CanadianCuttingEdge Год назад
The G727M is the orginal version and then they made the F727M (improvements mostly to the lock mechanism) and both were made with phosphor bronze washers. There is a new D727M and I fully expect it to have ball bearings like the FB727S, but Ganzo doesn't make that clear in their item description on their website, so don't take my word for it.

I don't know if I think a liner lock is worse than the axis lock or not. I do really like that the axis lock is ambidextrous though and I have had zero problems with Ganzo's version of it, and I have had every one of their axis lock knives. Ganzo's are often for less than half the price, exceeding low for the quality indeed.

Does the snaggle tooth also work on Ganzo knives?
@CanadianCuttingEdge
@CanadianCuttingEdge 3 года назад
That would have to be tested on a case by case bases because it relies on the placement of the thumbstud hole. BUT, I can say that the SnaggleTooth does work on every knife I have tested it on.

With all of the hoopla regarding "Made in China", is there any way to know for sure that Ganzo and Eafengrow and Sitivien and other Chinese knife makers aren't utilizing Chinese forced labor in essence slave labor and prisoners forced to work to produce knives?

No, there is no way to know for certain what labour practices are used in the knife factories in China.

It's a not a serious statement. It's a lighthearted saying that it's better to cut away from yourself than toward yourself. Yes, a chum is a friend. Note that it says toward, it doesn't say "cut your chum".
