Actually, we don't know for certain if Harry Potter and his friends never got to hear the Spice Girls. They have working radios and their world is essentially the same as ours but with a secret second world of magic behind our regular world of normies. There's even a scene where Harry and Hermione dance to radio music, and what's the only music you could dance to in the 90s? Ricky Martin! Which means Harry was gay all along and that's why he never got with the incredibly attractive Emma Wattson despite being the main character. And that is the Killian Experience, probably.
