Could be a worthy replacement for my Apple Watch 6. I dont care about apps, pay, or answering calls texts on my watch. I am just sick and tired of the overpriced one day battery life.

Exactly. I am a Series 4 owner, and while the "smart" things the Apple Watch does over like a Garmin and Fitbit are nice, that 1 day battery life is the worst. Additionally, I find the fitness and health stuff that Apple provides to be much less useful than than Fitbit/Garmin.

Once you get to a week of battery life or more, you'll never go back. I have the garmin vivoactive 4 and I love it. I used to have a Samsung watch that I'd charge every 2 days and after a while I got tired of the charging

I currently have a Fenix 3HR and was looking to upgrade later this year on Black Friday or Cyber Monday. Of the current Garmin lineup, does the Venu 2 have the most advanced/sensitive monitors for heart rate and sleep tracking? Garmin support said the Venu 2 has the 4th generation heart rate sensors, but couldn't tell me if any other series did as well *eye roll. I really like the MIP screen on the Fenix 3, but am a casual user and could probably get used to a screen switch if the monitors were more sensitive.

Galaxy watch 4 has unrealiable hearth rate monitor. It freezes all the time during workouts. If you need it for workouts garmin is way, way better

Why is apparently no one who is reviewing a *smart* watch on RU-vid, going into details into how you can respond to text messages, whether you can initiate the opening/deletion of an email on your phone from the watch, whether there is any kind of calendar integration, etc? For some reason, every smart watch is pretty much treated as a fitness tracker only.

Having switched to the Vivoactive 4 from the Galaxy Watch 3 a couple of weeks ago I think Im preferring the transreflective always on display.

@@rychartz I like that it's not so bright and in your face. I like how the main form of lighting it is from an external light source, especially the Sun... I have it set up so that really I'm only relying on the back light in the dark.

@@pdWald the only thing that is holding me back on this type of displays is when you use the backlight in the dark...the colours are bad and the blue instead of black is just off-putting and looks cheap. Are you ok with that?

@@rychartz So far yeah. I only use the backlight on the lowest setting so it helps in the dark... Otherwise I'm really relying on external lighting.

I have both as well and almost always go for the Vivo. Yes it doesn't look as nice as the Galaxy but the AOD and better battery life make up for it for me.

All garmins have a lock function. I do that at night. Lo g sleeves will not activate the watch

Is there a way to see each song in a playlist- using Amazon Music on the Venu 2? I can only seem to see my playlist but when I click on it, there is not list- just the first song starts playing. have to hit next >| to see the next song. This makes it very hard to get to song #30...when you are running at 7mph! There has to be an easier way- anyone? If I used Spotify music app instead, could I then see each song on a scrollable list?

Hello mam.. I have a vivoactive 3 wanted to know if I upgrade to venu 2 is it worth it. Coz am changing it because of the amoled display. But I wanted to know if it's really worth buying it. One thing I love in my vivoactive was the display on .. coz I can read it every single time in the day time without touching the buttons. But it looks like it's not available here .

The venu models drain the battery because of the screen. It is so annoying that it doesn't stay on

I was looking for a watch that would show a live heart rate during swim workouts. Liked it at first and it still does a good job of doing that. I added the track workout feature but I've found that it is NOT accurate. I set the pool distance at 50 meters and the watch will frequently miss-track the distance. (outdoor pool). On a recent 4k workout, it showed a total of 4,150. (think about that.... I would have had to get out at the opposite end of the pool). I have asked Garmin how to recalibrate, no response yet.

For the sleep function, do you still have to put a bedtime range so that garmin can track your sleep cycles? Or does it track all sleep taken at any time ( including naps) like Fitbit does? Does anyone know? 🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷

I own a Venir 2S for few days but I am not sure I receive the notificaciones correctly, when receiving one the watch vibrates and Ijust see a blue triangle for around 7 seconds, and can't see anything else. After I need to go to scoll the menú till the notificacionz to be a le to read It. Is the normal way Garmin Venus 2 works? I jave tried to go to the app and watch settings but couldn't find any way to fix thid. I would really appreciate if someone owns a venu 2 to tell me if if this is the way It works. I would hace thuoght you could drectly see the message (mail, WhatsApp or whatever directly when receiving It). Thanks in advance

Would you recommend the venu 2s or AW 7 for a woman? I mainly swim and use just the basic fitness features. I’m looking for one that’s more reliable for heart rate and overall really. I’ve been looking for a while and everyone points to the Apple Watch but the reasons are because it’s Apple they never give reasons fully as why, I hope you can help. Thank you

You can set your own preset reply messages. But this only works for Android as iPhone locks everyone out.

you're comparing a Mustang to a Pickup truck. How much mulch can you carry in a Mustang? Garmin is built for sports, Apple Watch, Samsung, and Wear OS are built for being smartwatches... You would compare a Mustang to a Camaro or Challenger so compare the Garmin to a Polar or Suunto...

Yes, although that will severely limit battery life. You can get about 6 to 8 hours of GPS use out of the Venu 1.

Funny to see watch market same as phone market while ago. Old giants Garmin, Suunto, Polar etc. getting wiped from market slowly. Specially Garmin for hanging too long own software will die out eventually.

@@zaparlante Maybe I was not clear enough, I wasn't talking about this one or this brand in particular when she said that it's a fitness focused smartwatch the first thing I thought was 🤔 right coz all the other ones in the market aren't right?, imo there's so much more that we could do with a device like this besides monitoring our health, sports and what ever but no company dares to make them an extension of the phone instead they prefer to do boring tracking devices or to keep the tracking options but also add more opinion so that it could be both a tracker and an extension of the phone.

for what? Fitness? No way. Smartwatch.. sure, but you get less fitness features and less battery life. I have had all 3. You can't connect a heart rate strap to either of your 2 picks which I prefer in recording my workouts. Both of your choices are limited in what fitness apps they can connect with and Garmin is not. Samsung Health and Google Fit are jokes in the real fitness world.

"Garmin had always had a good sleep tracking algorithm"... Erm... I mean, they've continuesly been the worst at it, in every study that checks out sleep trackers. Hopefully it's better now that they're using firstbeats technology, but it's one heck of a stretch to say that Garmin has had a good sleep tracking algorithm 😜
