Incase you were wondering, yes Garviel personally used my manscaped code to pick up his very own handy man How do you think he was able to keep such a fresh shave all throughout the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy? Get yours for 20% off here : manscaped.com/majorkill
Good move! And now he's chillin with sigismund, hoping you make a vid on the status of librarians/sorcerers from chapters/legions that opposed magnus at his trial
Honestly the biggest reason 40k will never get a movie or tv series. No actor would ever want to play Erebus and be hated by the world forever and for all time lol
I'm a Dark Angels fan through and through but Loken is a solid bro to hang out with. I personally want to hang out with Chief Librarian Ezekiel. I'd love to see how he interacts with the Lion.
The best part of his "Cerberus" persona was the fact that when the Dropsite Massacre happened and Garviel was alone with the dead, he thought that, somehow, he was literally the last loyalist space marine in existance So, he decided that if literally every other astartes was dead or a traitor, he would go on fighting till his last breath as the last loyalist, the guard dog of Hell itself, Cerberus.
'Then come back to me, Garviel', said Horus. 'Feel that warmth again, don't you want to be a part of the greatest endeavour the galaxy has ever seen?' 'I already was', said Loken, turning his back on Horus. 'It was called the Great Crusade.' ~Excerpt from the novel "Vengeful Spirit"
@@bernardbuan6629 it was prophesies that Horus will kill the emperor on his ship, luckily Sanguinius was emperor of 2nd imperialism by the G man. Temporary it may be but he was emperor and Horus killed him so the prophecy came true but it’s the wrong emperor. Sanguinius body laying out like that must have broken Loken internally because he knows he must kill his father for what he did to Sanguinius because they old Horus will never do what the new war master of chaos Horus did. He attacked Horus and was swatted away, and the emperor disguised as Loken and trick Horus.
"I was never a Son of Horus. I was and remain a Luna Wolf. A proud son of Cthonia, a loyal servant of the Emperor, beloved by all. I am your enemy." Garviel loken Last Lunar wolf
I actually thought that Erebus literally backstabbing Loken was incredible. The Samus bit was amusing, but I think the whole thing was really always about Abaddon. As long as Loken was still alive, there would be some piece of the old legion left that may have been able to sway Abaddon away from the path of the Despoiler. By killing Loken, Erebus seals Abaddon's fate and also illustrates how far he had already fallen.
In Horus Rising, he mentions how he and Torgaddon were less like “True” Sons of Horace. Which is one of the reasons I think their bond was even stronger. It was FUCKED when Torgaddon fell to Little Horus. Garviel / Cerberus is my favorite character. Tied with GARRO
Lol the Horace heresy. I'm not a language guy but I always thought using Horace instead of Horus was funny. Sons of Horace... We got Burt, Elmer, bill and Percy.😂
Remember when, in the first three HH books, Mersadie Oliton was always 'miring Loken and taking pictures of his Muscular, Sweaty, Astartes physique? There's like half a dozen scenes of Loken in the training cages and Mersaide click-click-clicking away tons of semi-nude picts of Garvie. Remember when, in Flight of the Eisenstein, Garro and the gang are brought to Rogal Dorn to testify for the accusations of Horus' Heresy, and it is finally Olitons mind-documents that sway the Imperial Fists to trust the Eisenstein crew. I always chuckle when I think of the moment when Mersadie's bulbous head is connected to the pic-screens and a flood of steamy, half-naked pictures of Loken fill the view :D Picture after picture of Garviel training without a shirt on, taking a shower, schmearing lapping powder on his armour with his muscles bulging all over his sweaty body... Damn, dirty remembrancers..
@@christiandauz3742 I doubt his soul is what became Samus; Erebus said that it was the echo of Loken’s death, the _tragedy_ and _emotion_ surrounding it, is what eventually gave birth to Samus. Garvy’s soul no doubt escaped the ruinous powers, and may watch over the imperium to this day as one of the Legion of the Damned.
My ideal home-brew chapter is a lunar wulf chapter under the guise of an ultramarine successor. I love the idea of loyal lunar wulfs conducting a shadow crusade to right the wrongs of their traitorous father and brothers. To hunt down the despoiler and end him
3:05 It would be one hell of a plot twist if 6319 was, in fact, the real Terra and the 1 everybody's been thinking of is actually a fake all along. It would also fit quite well into all the twists happening in the setting.
Garviel Loken reminds me of what Joe Kubert had said about his character "Sergeant Rock". He saw him as linked to the second world war. "He was born with the opening shots of WWII and dies of the last bullet fired on the last day of the war."
Erebus killing him felt tacked on and messed with the flow of the story, which was great. I’m tired of Erebus, he isn’t even a good character yet the writers treat him like the golden goose when at most he’s bronze.
Loken's been my fave since I started reading the first Horus Heresy books, and I found myself disappointed when it started branching out to books that didn't include him. Except Fulgrim, loved that one. I probably wouldn't have gotten into 40k books without him! He's the first character that drew me in.
Brother in imperium, Remember, Battle of Isstvan III was a loyalist victory. Little of they gave everything. Victory will be a cathedral that will be built on the foundations of their sacrifice. The greatest generation of astrates ever.
Can you imagine: instead of staying behind on the Vengeful Spirit and getting his ass handed to him by Erebus of all people, he gives a few seconds to look at Horus' body with empathy before teleporting back to Terra. In short, what if Loken survived the Heresy? imo, if he survived, Other than being one of the founding members of the Grey Knights, we'd have Luna Wolves successor chapters in the current setting, although disguised as "Ultramarine" successors
His story wrap up in the last book had me messed up for days. The writing in the Horus Heresy and Siege of Terra is beyond superlative. "Look out! Samus is here."
When every time me and my cousin play table top he always play as chaos or word bearers and has a kitbash Erebus so I don't care if lose I only care killing Erebus.
Looking back, it was unfortunately clear that Garviel Loken had to die. In the book of Pandorax, where Abaddon the prisoner interrogates Epimetheus and wonders who he is, he said that he cannot be his former brother because he had seen him die. At the time I thought he meant Severian. But now it is unfortunately clear that he meant Loken. This means that Loken's death was apparently decided years ago. It's a real shame because I was hoping until the end that it would be Loken who would hopefully kill Abaddon at some point. Unfortunately that was a mistake. R.I.P Garviel Loken, Captain of the 10th Company of the 16th Legion, dearest and last son of Horus loyal to the Emperor. The last of the Luna Wolf. You were the best!
Imagine if some Chaos guy modded their armor to have all of the Chestplates relocated onto the back just for Erebus reasons. Also day 420 of requesting a Commissar Yarrick Major Mini pls and thanks
If games workshop is ok with killing loken they better be cooking the maim and the burn a 8 volume series about KHARN killing Erebus slowly and very detailed.
Having erebus kill garvial and nothing happen to erebus is such bad writing whats even worse is that dan abnet wrote it and he's one of the best black library authors. He should have just made them kill each other in battle.
The only real mistake the emperor made was thinking the primach would be like space marines he didn’t put enough time raising them and assuring loyalty
I heard the name "WARHAMMER" over the years but never knew anything about it. Started watching videos about it after seeing the "fan_film" "ASTARTES " (what an awesome piece of work that was) can't believe how class the lore is in this universe. If a film or series is every made on this i hope to God it's done by ultra talented fans. Like the guy who did Artsartes. Because I wasn't impressed by HALO one bit.. This and other stuff (like Halo) deserve better. (Deserve the best)👍🇮🇪🙏
I made my custom chapter based around him alone, he was my favourite character and the first space marine I ever cared about. I read the Dark Imperium trilogy before that, and didn’t care about anyone. But Garvi, he was my astartes. Honestly if he wasn’t blond, (I have dark black hair) I’d cosplay him lol
Damn it perfect (horrible) timing! I just finished Horus Rising literally an hour ago, just started False Gods, and then noticed a new video. I can't watch this yet. And obviously Majorkill is in my brain. We're like soulmates, but more like bros. We're soulbros.
If I had a bolter with 2 rounds, and I was in a room with Fulgrim, Lorgar and Erebus...I'd send both bolts through Erebus' skull then beat him with the bolter.
SPOLERS SPOILERS SPOILERS DO NOT READ PAST THIS IF YOU HAVENT READ PART 3: We deserved so much better. Erebus being a literary device is so lazy and actually insulting to the reader. A character who more than others is the main character of the heresy. We see his progression through the entire thing and they can't even give us a "woooo where did he go?? he might be alive somewhere out there!" or fuck a VALORANT death would be fantastic. This Erebus shit makes me mad and I get he is supposed to but his evil is not in-universe, it is out here in the real world. He exists purely to kill off great characters for the convivence of them not being in the 40k-latter world. That is lazy and trash.
I don't know how much depth there is, but another video on planet 6319 and their Emperor of mankind? Who was he, what was their "imperium" and "imperial truth". How much of a badass was there Emperor? Thanks.
I reckon 63-19 was one of Tzeentch's schemes. Nudge a planet into thinking it's Terra, at the heart of the burgeoning Imperium of Man, ruled by an Emperor of Mankind? Titsnitch's feathery tentacleprints are all over it! Come to think of it, all four ruinous powers made their contributions to preparing Horus for a chaos spitroast. Nurgle on Davin IV. Slaanesh with nudging Horus to rename the legion in his own honour. And Khorne got his share during the compliance of 63-19, and again when Horus's retinue cut their path to the Apothecary, and again with massacring the remembrancers...
Honestly I’m fucking done with Warhammer. I’ve been reading these books since Horus Rising came out in 2006, and I only stayed because I really believed that Garviel would survive the Horus Heresy. He deserved to live. And seriously, Erebus again getting to just kill fan favourite characters? I’m glad I stayed to at least read the conclusion to the Horus Heresy, much of it was well written and interesting. But I’m done. WH40k is dead to me. Pretty much like how GW destroyed the fantasy universe that I was only able to collect for a year before the line of production stopped.
currently getting into 30k now, and after 10 years as a stubborn loyalist templar... ngl khorne has my soul HAHAHAHAHHA BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!! KILL MAIM BURN!!!
If I could ask Henry Cavill for one thing it’s whatever 40K content he and Amazon make, whenever some mad hectic shit is about to happen, someone, don’t care who, shouts “FUCK IT! WE BALL!” at least once
You think you can do a theory video on how the different Chaos gods would affect each of the Primarchs and their legions if they fell? Like we saw the affects on some during the Heresy, but what if the gods were switched around? Instead of Nurgle what if Morty and the Death Guard were enslaved by Khorne, Slanessh, or Tzeench? And then similarly of all the other Primarchs including he loyalists. You can also do an Undivided or just unaligned traitor options if you wish, but the main four is what I’m curious about.
Not a big fan of bringing Garviel Loken back for the end of the Heresy. Having such a pivotal protagonist in the early books die on Istvaan to kick off everything added a lot more weight to it. It's kind of like if in the fifth season of Game of Thrones, Ned Stark came back like "I survived the beheading, it just made me forget who I was for awhile. Lets get back to fighting the Lannisters!"
Abbadon should've slain Erebus then and there and it would've been a reasonably good plot point for everyone involved, makes Abbadon slightly more interesting, gets rid of Erebus in a satisfying way because no one likes him and means Loken didn't die for essentially no reason. Also if they really had to they could've bought Erebus back with some warp nonsense as a special reveal later down the track, have him challenge Abbadon indirectly or something.
Attempt number 32: What if the Primarchs where found in the order of their creation. So the Lion was first and Horus was nearly last. I think that could change quite a bit, don't you think? P:S: Closing in on that 50 mark. JOIN ME MY BROTHERS!
The peace of the grave will only be mine when the scales are balanced. I am the last loyal man under a galaxy of traitor stars THE UNDYING AMOUNG THE DEAD! And I come for you!
Enraging and unceremonious end for the Lokey boy, but it serves as a good reminder of the setting this takes place in. Sure it is kinda lame ass writing to have a death happen like this in some aspects, but this is 40k, the most batshit insane grimdark setting we've got besides the Mork Borg shenanigans, it stands to reason that there would often be unceremonious, unsatisfying deaths or even ones that feel like a robbery, because if the entire galaxy is at war, nowhere and no one is truly safe, and in real life people die who dont deserve it in terrible ways all the time with no rhyme or reason, shit just happens, and many times beloved individuals of their respected community are killed for no other reason than being who they were, not some grand betrayal or great sacrifice. On top of that, it REALLY cements in how much we all fucking hate Erebus. Whether or not the plan from the beginning of Garviel's story arc was for him to die by erebus to bring about Samus, Erebus knew what it would cause and that scribblefaced little fucksnot made sure his plans came to fruition. I feel like this was an intentional and most likely long since planned decision for Garviel, as it really seems like we're SUPPOSED to be enraged and feel robbed by his death, that they wanted to give us the real final nail in the coffin for our opinions on him to be set in stone as him being the biggest cunt in the galaxy.
I don't even want Erebus to get offed by anyone, I don't want it to be 'Epic' in the regular sense. I want him to slip on a Banana Peel or pop a blood vessel pushing a big dookie out- or something equally stupid, maybe a tree falls on him while he's out for a walk. I want it to be epically embarrassing/hilarious.
I’ll preface this by saying for the most part I hate the imperium and the space marines. Loken however, I really liked. His character development, humanity and overall story arc was relatable and uncharacteristically human (for a space marine). To have him killed so suddenly by that bitch Erebus feels to me like a disservice to the character of Loken.
It seems like Erebus is just written for the sole purpose of making a character as unlikeable as possible. Apparently there was some collectors edition stuff gw was selling only 2000 of and scalpers were buying hundreds of them and gw put out a statement saying that was a move worthy of Erebus himself. Is that the point of Erebus? To be used for corporate propaganda?
It is wrong to say that Garviel Loken is the main protagonist of Warhammer 40,000, as by then he's been dead for 10,000 years! Random dude on internet: 1 - Majorkill: 0
Sponsorship is sponsorship but to anyone thinking of buying Manscaped it's really more of a gimmick. There are other options out there that are far superior, and don't shave your nuts in the shower, hair sticks to skin when wet..... It ain't worth the risk lol.
