Apart from Gary, there just aren't many guitar players who among other things had a sound that was "just on the verge of being out of control," and that is a terrible shame. 80's Gary was so in your face, and he made no apologies about it. The world needs another guitar hero like him. RIP Gary. You are very sorely missed.

Gary Moore was no effete, intellectual, spider-fingered shredder, instead, he attacked his guitar with intensity and fury and beat it into complete submission. Seeing him live just before he turned to the blues was a highlight of my concert going life, he was incredible, and his sound with that red Strat he used - just amazing.

When Gary reached this period in his solo career he was way out there. Nobody had envisaged you'd hear this type of guitarwork. And as time has proved then the best was to come. The truly greatest rock guitarist who could make that instrument scream, cry, sing and certainly shout the loudest and longest. RIP legend. Still so sadly missed🔥A total inferno of talent

I would need five more hands to give enough thumbs up to & for Gary - 7 in all . Songwriter , vocalist , hero ( for his stand for peace / anti -war themes in many of his songs ) 5 for his 5 masters of different guitar styles ( Blues , Ballads , Jazz, Rock & Metal / Shred ). Of all the many guitarists over the 40 + years I have loved & been inspired by , Gary is still , in my opinion 1 of the greatest !

Dude, you must have read wrong ,Gary did frustrated with all the mis fuckups and screw overs during this time , He enjoyed playing Rock n roll but after he got frustrated with the bullshit, he got the idea in a dressing room from Bob Daisley and it started from that point on ,he did prefer playing blues over rock but that was said when he was already playing the blues genre.

I saw Gary play here in the States in the early 80's. He opened up for Krokus and Def Leppard. He should have been the main attraction. I just wish he would have played moore here but I read that he didn't have much of a following in the USA. If that's true I can't understand it. He was an awsome guitar player and should always be known as one of the best ever. You will be missed Gary. We want moore but at least we have lots to listen to. God's speed my friend.

The truly amazing thing about GM is that he could play anything, and when he did a cover, he intertwined all those other genres, blues, jazz, classical, rock, and did it very, very well, which made the songs his!! No doubt in my mind after listening to every great electric guitarist over the last 50 years, Gary Moore is the greatest. I will, however, give it to Jeff Beck on creating, new innovative sounds. Otherwise, all take back seats to Moore!

Guitar players all have their own style which makes them completely different from each other. Stevie Ray Vaughan played one hell of a guitar where he just abused his guitars in his solos. I haven't seen any videos of Gary playing behind his back or with his teeth and if he ever did I would love to see those videos. I wish that we wouldn't lose so many great guitar players like Gary and I am glad that I got to see him in concert as he was the best performance that night. He shouldn't have been the opening act but rather the main attraction. I saw him in the early 80's and thinking that maybe it was in 1982.
