It's insane that Gary Moore didn't really get the recognition he deserved. His voice is as perfect as his guitar playing, and his talent is beyond anyone else's who has ever walked this planet. This song is 12 minutes of perfection.
I couldn't have sad it more accurate that this - god i've been thinking that many time - no one can/could play like GM -- hands down this man was a true genius with a guitar
Just the look on his face when he plays shows that he is living that in the moment and has more feeling than most guitarists wish they had. His guitar tells what’s inside his heart.
I don't sign that. If you mean with credit things like Fame or a Mountain of Money, i agree. But what he'd get is Love, Love and Love. Better as all Dollars of the World. Just read the comments here. Love and Peace from Germany incl. my sad English. :D
@@chilliams I meant that everyone talks about his guitar talent but never talks about how amazing his vocals are, but i agree, love is the most important thing ever!! ❤
Absolutely he is still underrated, sadly unjust. Gary's soul transports us with every drop of sweat he poured over that Les Paul. We're so fortunate to have the free archive of his live performance recordings.
I've played guitar for years and I can do all of kindsstuff but there is just something about Gary Moore that goes beyond anything I've seen. He is like the perfect combination of talent, technique and soul. Beautiful.
Heavenly Guitar he was a genius and I never listened to him until I saw him play at fender's 50th anniversary where he played some Jimi Hendrix and he played exceptionally well. God bless his soul.
everybody and their mother plays this old Al cooper song.including me. he had patience younger than most. that is what i see. fewer notes, meaning more is stuff older people get. he got it young.
I was 15 years old , no, no idea what rock music can mean... he was playing with Colloseum II. In Germany, I've just started playing guitar. Then I saw him, heard him, and..yes, of course, I fell into a trance. For sure, that's really true! My grilfriend has to take me home because I couldn't put one foot after the other.. It's not a fairy tale and I still dream about it sometimes ... 44 years later RIP - rest in peace, you admirable person and guitar god. I love your guitar playing and wish, I could have spoken to you once when you were alive...and not only just imaginary ...
I grew up listening rock and heavy metal SINCE 1974....... I LOVE MUSIC..GARY WAS A MONSTER...UNIQUE ..ONE OF A KIND...HE WAS A BEAST WITH HIS GUITAR..
I don't mind Gary being underrated. It feels so much more personal to me and anyone else who knows and listens to him instead of hearing his songs playing everywhere all the time. I know he belongs to me and this community that truly appreciates his music. You'll always be the best for me Gary!
I feel that fully. I also feel that 100% about Jeff Beck. It's like, we are the cream of their crop and we get to go with them on their journeys of creation. We love them for sharing their heart and soul with us. They knew we loved them back with our all too. I'm so moved by this song that my words are a bit jumbled up but you feel me ~ 🕊
Raise your head to heaven and thank God we had this man and his gift for 58 years. An extremely gifted guitarist beyond the likes of anyone. What a loss.

Surely the best solo of all time. Passion, speed, accuracy. After 13 years it’s still my all time favourite guitar video, I thank you ! RIP Gary Moore, we all still love you. ❤️❤️❤️
oh boy! this is an unbelievable song that takes me to another world and i think i have multiple eargasms every time i listen to this

Northern Ireland’s guitar virtuoso Gary Moore gives an absolutely jaw-dropping performance of Al Kooper’s heartrending number “I Love You More Than You’ll Ever Know” at Switzerland’s AVO SESSION Basel (now called BALOISE SESSION) on November 13, 2008. It has been just over three years since the world lost Gary Moore, who passed away on February 6th of 2011. Rest in peace Gary, we love and will never forget you.
Janis Joplin sang "Little Girl Blue". Tears your soul out. And Gary, my fav being "I Still Got Them Blues for You." Hope they've met 'cuz "No Tears in Heaven."
there never was,. and never will be another Gary Moore...his talent is far beyond our understanding...been playing Gary Moore's material for years but can't get that feel, all the emotion that Gary can project....he was one of Gods gifts to mankind...
A person has to live through the trials of life before they can ever attempt to convey that pain and emotion on 6 strings like Gary did. Truly a painful gift from God. So amazing......
When I listen to songs like this or Parisienne Walkways, I literally get misty. What a player...what a loss. Somewhere in his rig was a cable that connected his guitar and amp to his heart...
I want to send it to someone in the past who never new how much I loved him he was my savure . Then I ended up hurting him and myself also lost the best thing in that time of my life.Even tho life worked out very well for me now i still regret hurting him.
This rips my heart open! Yet it heals all the pain inside that has been stored in those secret places we hide from all that look at us. Those who love, and love completely, will understand that this rendition is perfection. The blues as it is meant to be played is an art and Gary shared his gift in a magical way. Thank you.
This statement is a perfect explanation of the blues! To someone who truly appreciates the blues, they understand that it's actually healing and produces good vibes. It let's you know there are others out there that go through some of the same stuff you do. Yet they(musicians) turn their pain into something beautiful and share it with the world!
Every time I watch this I respect him even more...he was the genuine article. He was so passionate when he played and the blood, sweat, and tears were evident. No zircon here...but a genuine diamond!

gary inspired the world with his amazing emotion not just in his supreme guitar but also his fucking amazing vocals. every word beautifull straight from the mans heart and soul he ain't dead, not in my heart
Every musician/songwriter goal is to invoke an emotional response from the listener....his soloing is so clear and melodic....nothing but pure EMOTION explodes from every guitar note and vocal he releases....I'm trying to learn and practice his as well as David Gilmore's lead style....I find them to be very similar in their soloing styles
some wonderful comments here! helps me deal with the heartbreak to read that people are so inspired by his unequalled playing that they are writing they are just discovering him, Gary would have been so proud, God Bless you guys
Interesting. I was thinking like this all this time...but you were the first one to comment about this. Very good comment.! Sad emotional pain translate into string breaking bend/vibratos at the highest fret...that no one can even copy.
Having reviewed comments here and in other Moore videos, it can be stated emphatically that this musician has not only left an indelible mark in music history but he has more importantly inspired guitarists and touched listeners profoundly and viscerally.
Spent the night listening to every available version of this song... there are some great singers out there, women included, but between the soulfulness of his singing and his intense heartfelt guitar licks and solos, this is the best cover hands down. God bless you, Gary, for your incredible gifts.
Gone too soon .but never forgotten .each note you played will live forever in our heart.a phenom that will never see like him in millions of years.😢😢🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🌹🌹🌹🌹❤❤🎸🎸🎸🔥🔥⚘⚘🔥⚘🔥⚘🔥🔥⚘🔥⚘
I know how you feel, I lost my brother four year's ago. Only Gary can pull your heart and soul in so many way's, he was and still is my mentor . He lives in my life everyday, now I know my brother is with Gary making music in the heaven's. God bless you, we are the one's who suffer here, they are at peace.
Kathy Miller TV audiences didn't screech like morons and spoil the intense experience. You would be thrown out if you got in the way of this sound.... thankfully!
Wow. That was an amazing version of the most beautiful Amy Whinehouse song. I didn't think it could be done any better. His haunting sound fills my soul. I think Amy would also love it. This is a masterpiece all on its own. RIP A.W. & G.M.
Man I wished life was never unfair and took your life. I miss you and I never even knew you personally. You are my greatest inspiration, your music will never die.
I've never heard anyone more expressive on the guitar than Gary Moore. He also got consistently beautiful tone out of every guitar he touched. R.I.P. Gary Moore. You will always be missed.
The "Passion and Warfare" which is what Vai was referring to when he named his album. And Bonamassa wishes he could play like this. Totally from the heart. R.I.P. Gary Moore.
I've been looping this solo for the good last hour.. And I still can't believe what I'm hearing, it's like I can't wrap my head around the fact that so much soul can be put into a guitar solo.
I don't care what the blues purists say: with Gary we lost one of the all time blues greats. The man was a giant of the guitar and an extremely underrated singer. Rest easy Gary. We miss you man....
My baby left today, and when I heard this song it reminded me of her, now I am burning up to my core but I miss her. We didn’t break up but it sure as hell hurts seeing her away from me.
It's so amazing that he seemed to be really at the peak of his musical abilities right as his life ended. There's a lot of iffy stuff in his 1980s catalogue, all fierce and finely played, but once he reached these twilight years, he was a transcendent musician.
You got to respect all the guitarists for doing their own thing..There are technical monsters like guthrie govan petrucci and so on but when it comes to delivering feeling through the music and expressing through the guitar sadly their not many guitarists alive that can do it like gary did..Truly one of the greatest' s of all time
Danuta Warec that's the bad part about brilliance....they shine so bright and so fast they burn out so quick and we only get a short glimpse of their brilliance
Bad to the Bone, gut wrenching, soul tearing, heart felt soulful Blues. The best that has ever been written and played. This version by Gary Moore is Blissful and Painful and Most Beautiful. R I P.
It is never to late to appreciate greatness. It is just sad that we will never see this man live again making that guitar sing. I'm 65 and have listened to Gary for ever it seems.
