I love every note Gary ever played. The first time I ever heard him play, I became a disciple. It was a life changing moment and listening to him play will never get old. Thanks to Gary, I've Still Got The Blues. He was a friggin' genius and I miss him every day. Rock on brother. RIP.

You can keep all your shredders, No one had the feel but still the speed of Gary. A true master x
@kewlfonz
@kewlfonz 5 лет назад
Agreed - I HATE shredding. I've got no kick against fast picking when it's done WITH TONE and articulation, but that tonally uniform, stiff, mechanical, metal shredding - Let's just say it's NOT my scene...
@ph0kused

@@kewlfonz Actually there is someone that fits this bill - and - dare I say? - is better! That would be John Sykes, who is from the Gary Moore school but with gasoline poured on top if it.
@kewlfonz
@kewlfonz 4 года назад
@@scotto0010 The real acid test is can Sykes play clean guitar without bass and drums? I'm sure being a pro guitarist he can. However, what made Gary such a strong player, is that even without fuzz/gain and a bassist and drummer backing him up, he can play super RHYTHMIC lead guitar that stands up in its own right without fuzz and a backing band. Not all guitarists can play rhythmic lead guitar without ANY backing like Gary - they need TONS of fuzz and bass & drums...

I loved the partnership between Gary and Phil Lynott on bass - their Irish souls created great music which was world beating - pity Phils addiction messed that up. Gary is the only guitarist who can stop me in my tracks when Im doing something else and I happen to hear even a moment of his playing. Heart and soul , master of his art. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.

Happy I have the many CD's and DVD's to remember him by I'm amazed he wasn't voted into the R&R Hall Of Fame he should have been as known as much as Clapton or Beck I believe not enough people knew of him especially here in the State's RIP Gary now you and Phil can jam once again

Not caring about who might be the best, I popped by today to see a video I've not seen before. Suddenly I realise I miss the guy, his playing, and all that he meant to many people. What a sad loss. Who cares who's best? My late brother and his band learned to gig in a garage. My eldest brother made our lives a misery, learning chords in the kitchen, hour after hour, and I was too young to complain. I'm crap on a twelve string. And a six. And a four. But, we all love it. Thanks, Gary x

Hey, I have an advice to everyone around, something I've learned after Mr. Moore passed away and it's the advice that I've been trying to hold on since: If you have any artist, any performer, any anyone who you think you should absolutely see, grab your coat and go! Don't wait, just take the very first opportunity to be there! I had THREE chances to go and see Mr. Moore live and because of my simple stupidity, I didn't go. Still it pisses me! I thought I have all the time of the world to go and see him, and apparently I was badly wrong.
