That kinda tone n melody always do it for me. Reminds me of Carlos Santana’s tone playing “ Ssmba Pa Ti”. David Gilmour and Mark Knopfler come to mind also melodically…but this is as classic of a Gibson Les Paul tone as there is… Love this.
same. l heard on another vid some great guitarist (sorry l forgot who) was asked who he thought the best guitarist was ever and of course everyone expected him to say hendrix but he mentioned this guy and a drummer too.. l checked this out and gosh l would love to hac seen this live.. wow. just wowww.. happy thxgvg to you..
I'm 44 and idk when he died, but I'm like u ,I would have loved to see him live. I've always been a lover of the guitar, but never played any instruments. 2yrs ago I starting taking guitar lessons and trying to learn how to play. It was just in last year I was turned on to Gary Moore by a friend. I listen to him play and think to myself......idk if I'll live long enough to be able to play anywhere close to that good. The man was talented to be sure
Hey, Thanks for the info! I just started listening to this track approximately a month ago, now I can't stop listening to this Marvelous, Man, What a legacy he has/had WOW!!
my dad passed away from covid. When he was still healthy, he often played this song on the guitar. Now that he's gone, this song is one way for me to remember.
Im sorry for your loss man. My dad also passed away years ago. He always used to have music playing if he wasnt holding a guitar. He is the only reason I play guitar now. And he is the only reason I love so many older songs. They will always be watching over us.
You should learn to play guitar(assuming you don’t know how) itwould be fun and a way to feel what your dad did. And also be pretty cool to play this sweet solo. You could play knowing your father is playing with you from above.
One day my wife and I were driving somewhere and this song came on from my Ipod. She asked me this was and I said Gary Moore. After the song was done I noticed she was crying. I asked what was wrong and she said "The song is so beautiful". We would drive from the Boston area to Northern Michigan twice a year and if this song came on the "random'" playlist she would repeat. Often she would skip random and just play it twice. I always love the song as one with great guitar playing. My wife passed almost 3 years ago and I just now really listened to the lyrics. I get it babe.
I'm 36, love the blues, somehow missed this song my entire life. I went to a Taiwanese club a few days ago and the band did a cover of this that blew me away, and now here I am on my 30th listen.
I have this theory that some rare people made perfect songs in the history of the music. This man and this song belong to it. Everything is perfect: the melody, the lyrics, the voice, the guitar crying, the energy it sends...it's transcendental. I can never get over watching or listening to it; it always sounds fresh to me.
I found out about Gary Moore only a few years ago. I heard a tribute to him by Joe Bonamassa. I was fascinated & looked him up. I never heard anyone like him. I listened to everything I could by him. His playing literally brought me to tears. He touched my soul. I think he is the best guitarist I have ever heard. He blows u away & takes u to another world. There just aren't enough words to describe his talent. He holds a special place in my heart. I only wish I could have seen him in person. What a disappointment I never got to. RIP Gary ❤😢
When I was little my uncle sat me down and showed me this video of gary moore my whole sense of music was changed forever from then I knew what kind of music is the right kind for me what a legend I always remember the day I found out gary passed away I went out and listened to this song watching the sunrise driving towards the sun
My dad always loved the blues. As a kid, I would go out after school to play with my friends, and then come home around 5:00 for dinner. If this song was playing, I knew that dinner was either ready or almost ready because my dad blasted it throughout the house all the time. I got very tired of it as a kid (because I literally heard it every day and I wasn't into blues). Only years later have I come to respect my dad's taste in music. This song is one example- if I hear the first note I can sing the whole song without thinking, I just subliminally know it. I wish I hadn't shut it out when I was a kid. Rest easy, dad.
He’s an absolute master of both the guitar and the vocals. The guitar supersedes at times and then the unmatched vocals. Gone too soon! Thanks Gary! We love you so much! We will continue to celebrate your music as long as we are alive!
Oh my Lord this just blew me away, He made that guitar come alive and it tore at my heart. Why did I not know this artist?--- absolutely fantastic solo!
The guy sings Live, Play the guitar at an amazing level, You can see his passion, his soul into he music, What a great artist, you will be missed, RIP Gary Moore.
When I was younger, I learned to play this song. While I could play the notes as they were supposed to, I could never make my guitar cry like that. Between his voice and the voice he gave the guitar, this song is legendary. I never get tired of hearing this song, 35 years later.
@@CalJennings There's a lot of things that just didn't come my way either when I was younger. Luckily my godfather was a studio guitarist for some big bands in the day, and he knew about him and his talents. I got lucky to hear this back then.
@@gilgameshhawhaw2651 definitely top of the crop!!! I’m hooked on this muscian! Wow. How did I miss his music??? Killer all the way. Luv this so f*cking much. Legendary! ❤️👍🔥🦊🇺🇸🧨🎶
This live version sounds a million times better than the record version. Watching the emotion and feel Gary displays on his face and puts into his guitar is in itself a pleasure to watch and hear.
I must say that just this live recording he has an exceptional sweet guitar tone. Tried to find the same recording on Spotify without any luck to hear it without RU-vids compression. There are other live recordings of him that are really good, but this has something the other are missing. Just when he bends those notes to perfect intonation and it's just the right amount of treble so it's sweet but not ear-piercing. Ok, so after that rant; Anyone knows where to find the recording with better sound quality?
Gary Moore ~~such a amazing guitar player for all the time he was here ,, it was a super time to hear his guitar work ,thanks ,to the guitar gods for letting us have Gary Moore ,, amazing🎸🎸🎸🎸🔊🔊🎶🎶💪🏼
oh...croatia....I was there first time in 2015 and I falled in love with croatia :) I could spend many hours in this amazing water....the best temperaturę for me :D

Where have I been?! I am hearing this for the first time. So amazing! I came here after listening to Rick Beato's interview with Kirk Hammett. Fascinating story about this guitar's history.
im sorry but his guitar solo is NOT original. there is a chinese pop song that came out 5 years before this song was released with the exact same melody as the song and solo
How could anyone in their right mind not enjoy and like this . It is beautiful and so heart felt. Fantastic playing , singing is great and the song is beautiful. If you don't nearly have tears in your eyes you are cold hearted with no feelings or life experiences!
I've been looking for this song for 15 months. I searched on Shazam, but couldn't find it. I searched visually on Google, but I still couldn't find it. I finally found it randomly, thank you God
Amen brother-the 60's weren't bad either and real music is timeless. Just saw Santana 2 weeks ago live outdoors with Earth, Wind, and Fire openming up and it was like getting into the wayback machine. Rock On!
@@joshmuz9018 at least it ended up with someone who actually plays it and not some rich collector who just puts it on display. I wish it found its way back to Peter Green - as well as his sanity.
I first heard of Gary Moore about two weeks ago and I've been listening to this and several others on repeat. Don't think I've heard a better guitarist in my 70+ years. Mr. Moore deserves his place as one of the greatest guitarists in history, along with Hendrix, Page, Gilmore and Clapton. Not only can he play guitar, he is a fantastic singer too! RIP Gary Moore
