No one could ever be, and no one will ever be as talented as Gary Moore ... He played with his very soul... and put it out there for everyone to see. I just wish everyone could appreciate this guy as he was; truly amazing, authentic, original, and an absolute GENIUS - UNDISPUTED.
Ireland... The Best Country in the World. Less than 5 Million of people, full of Art, Musician, Painter, Poetry (James Joyce) etc. like U2, Rory Callagher, Enya, Gary Moore (off course), Coors, Cranberries (R.I.P. Dolores O'Riordan) and many more. Proud to live there from the past 24 years. GOD Bless Ireland & the Irish !!! Love from Italy 💚🤍❤😇 Amen *
My Sister and her Boyfriend, God rest em loved Gary I wonder if they went to this concert they were always telling me about this guy who played guitar better than anybody they ever heard it was Gary Moore.we lived pretty close I hope they got to go maybe they are listening to him in some club somwhere else now :)
This was a warm-up to the Live in Stockholm version that’s blows my mind every time I listen to it. Gary Moore - the best guitar player to have ever lived. Gary, you’re so very missed, my friend. You don’t even know what your music has done for my and millions of others’ lives. Thank you, Gary.
@@alfrednoakes8113 Thank you for that information. I think the Stockholm version is the definitive and by far the best version of this song. By I love anything Gary.
Gary Moore was the one person I ever heard who could truly copy Hendrix, and that was just the tip of his talent iceberg. Look up the videos of him playing with Mitch Mitchell, and Billy Cox on bass, and vocals. As if that's not enough, a young Gary first borrowing, then buying Peter Green's Les Paul on which Peter played the old Fleetwood Mac songs. that's nothing short of magical. Rest in Peace Gary.
I have MANY guitar heros... DOZENS that I like and listen to....BUT I ALWAYS come back to Gary....I saw him in 86....88...amd again in 91....and he was ....STUPENDOUS in every way....the vibrato....the note selection....and the roar.....like I said....STUPENDOUS...just so much FIRE behind every note
Def the longest version of ever heard.. Gary was an in the zone type of player.. Had the pleasure of seeing him a few times when he toured the states Terribly missed.. Rest In Peace & Thank you for this amazing music we can all listen to 4 evermore
I love Malmsteen, Paul Gilbert, Jason Becker, and many other guitar virtuosos, but Gary had that "touch" that's unique and only he can play. He is really missed.
None of my friends knew that guys. After hearing this song, they were very glad and started to buy his albums. That was back in the '80s. I still got the blues for Moore !
I remember this night like it was yesterday....he played with more feeling and emotion than anyone ....an amazing guitarist and from friends who have met him a great and humble person....he is gone way too soon....
FROM 15.14 and forward, i get chills down my spine, blood rushing of exitement, I close my Eyes and i see Gary live playing this song, I feel humble, this tune makes me alive and proud!!! RIP Gary!!!!!
I was at this show. Unreal to find it after 25 years!!!!! Thanks for uploading. There will never be anyone that plays with the skill and emotion that GM had.
Gary Moore's guitar playing style, and sound, should be mandatory in every music school for the students to learn. Also, I will add Rory Gallagher's music too. Both guys were guitar masters that left us too soon.
I was there with two friends and will never forget this show. It was shortly after Phil Lynott passed in and you could see the emotion as he played Military Man
Damn! Those custom Charvel San Dimas in Gary's hands surely SPOKE THE TRUTH! From Gary's heart to God's ears. And thank the Lord that tape was rolling this night.
I was at this very concert on 9/1/1987, remember this track like it was yesterday. Gary Moore had a tremendous talent to make the guitar speak. This is a great example of it.
i was at this show....what an amazing guitar player....he had the place mesmerized....it was a wbcn radio concert played on the airwaves that night...wbcn used to do lots of shows like this....check out ac/dc paradise theatre boston....for $1.04....lol....
I'm a big Steve Hackett fan. You can hear echoes of Moore and his melodic blues in Hackett's non-acoustic stuff, from _Blues with a Feeling_ onward: "Tombstone Roller", "Twice Around the Sun" and even "These Golden Wings". Hackett played "Spectral Mornings" on Moore's old Fernandez guitar and dedicated it to him, in concert last year. A great moment.
Definitely a great version, but I think the Stockholm version of April 25th that year is the best version of The Loner. Anyway it's far too sad that we will never hear this song or any other song from him live again. That's what I will eternally miss, see this greatest guitarist live again!!! RIP Gary!!!!
Probably the most beautiful Gary Moore solo ever recorded....so full of surprises and emotion....so many other guitarists' solos can leave you feel it could have been better if they added another bit or taken part of it away, or added a better riff that rattles round your head whilst a solo is playing......Gary's playing takes The listener in directions and chords and solos and everything else in directions that we could never think of!!! Serious total fucking eargasm from start to finish!!! We will never hear anything like that again from anyone ever!!! Massive respect Gary you are jamming in heaven :)
Great to hear this live version after so many years! I was at he previous night's show in Providence, RI. I took some photos and still have one of Gary's guitar picks from the show.
I worked the Orphium in boston damn didnt know he was there thenn my loss one guy I never saw live one of my favorites left boston in oct 88 one of the best music towns ever WBCN 360 degrees of rock and roll
Bonjour mon cher rainbow over Ireland!! Gary nous a démontré le fameux "I'm possible" de Audrey Hepburn! All the roads are open for all of us, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!!!! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Good night my friend.
Where in Boston was this? Don't tell me it was the Garden, backing up Def Leppard. Please don't, cos when I saw Leppard I missed the first band and I'm thinking it was Gary Moore. I also know they fired him from the tour.
