Live at Liverpool Exhibition Centre with his daughter Persia on vocals. My camera's focusing has gone up the wall but its not easy with his lighting anyway.
Cyanyde Just looking at the pictures of him and his family TOGETHER (via his official FB page)...not just vacation things, but normal round-the-house stuff, wishing each lady in his life a Happy Birthday or Anniversary...their family is pretty dang solid!
Average kid: I went to summer camp during my summer vacation Persia: I sang on stage at rock concerts and festivals backing for a rock act with a major cult following.
she was amazing..chatted with Persia before the show and she said she was nervous but so wanted to do it. Her Mom and sisters were down at the front to watch her...
Seriously, she is obviously very nervous but ends up doing AMAZINGLY! That little lady is going to be a big star one day. I love seeing how giddy Gary is about having this moment with her, watching her sing live in front of a big crowd for her first time. Wonderful memory to catch on film. Thank you for sharing!!!
This, its so great to me simply to see how proud and happy he is to be performing with his daughter, she is obviously a bit out of comfort zone here (I believe this was her first stage performance with him) but in more recent videos she is doing great. Hope too see what the future brings for the Numens, their vocals complement each other so well.
This is awesome!!!!! Gary has such a HUGE smile on his face, full of pride for that courageous Persia performing in front of 3000 people. Tears down my cheeks. Very emotional performance!
I searched this up because I heard his interview on Sirius today. He said she has NO experience on stage at all, and had never even held a microphone before. Gary said he was so proud he had a hard time keeping it together on stage. That kid has talent! Interesting guy. He's amazingly humble, and genuinely loves touring and doing his thing. Never gets tired of it. And if this song is any indication he's nowhere near running out of ideas. I loved his story about eating at a restaurant in Tokyo with Queen. The band "Japan" had invited him to tour....Japan....with them, so he flew over there to meet them. At which point they simply blew him off. Mystified, he gave up and took the train back to Tokyo, where he found out Queen was in concert. He grabbed up a ticket. At the venue there was a big ruckus, and he realized it was because HE was there, not so much Queen. Anyway, he met Queen backstage after the show and they invited him to get some food. At the restaurant they asked him what he wanted, and he said, "Oh, that's ok. I don't like Japanese food. I'll just sit here." Someone in the band whispered a few words to an assistant, and at the same time the food came out for the band the assistant arrived with a bag full of McDonalds for Gary.
I seriously can't stop watching this. This just goes to show that even the most depressed people can have the biggest hearts. Gary is clearly doing everything he can to make her feel at home on stage, and even though she doesn't move a muscle, he's having so much fun just working with his daughter. She'll be something big some day. Count on it.
I got tears when he gave her a hug..I do know what it feels like to be loved by a father...my dad was always proud of me, even when I saw myself as a failure..and I do miss him with all my heart....Gary must be so haopy.
goodysun I lost access to my Storm Within channel, so I can only reply with this one..thanks for understanding and I hope you find peace within this realm
And here I am, wishing I knew what it was like to have a dad love me so much...and not just because “Oh SHIT, it’s Gary Numan, etc.” I just love seeing the joy in his eyes hugging his child...and this vid could’ve been featuring anyone...
dreamriver57 most fan-shot videos totally suck. This one doesn't. I have NO idea how you pulled you this off, but you need to know - OMG this is the best fan-shot I've ever seen in my life :) This one was especially important - it's Persia's debut. So thank you so much! :)
Gary's just so into the music and bouncing around the stage. Meanwhile, Persia's like, "Dad...get back here... O.O" Seriously though, such a great performance from these artists. I can't wait for the album!
This song is such an earworm at the moment, and this video is awesome, Persia did amazingly well despite being so obviously nervous, kudos to both Father & daughter!
Persia was so nervous. You could tell. But my goodness. She pulled that off so brilliantly, especially for her debut. It was nice to see that she started to relax after the first part where she sang though. That's almost always what happens! :) Stage fright mellows out after you start a bit. These two are an amazing duo, and I'm glad someone caught this on film so well. I look forward to seeing what Persia can do--especially if there are any more songs to be released like this one.
Absolutely brilliant, I bet if he was told 35 years ago you'd be singing with your daughter on stage, he wouldn't of believed it. Can't wait to see him again later on this year.
Listening to Pleasure Principle and Telekon etc over 35 years ago I never, ever once imagined I would be seeing this. This is the future of Numanism. Brilliant!
Just when I thought I couldn't love Numan any more, now here is his most endearing performance of all: that of a loving, proud father. Look how happy he is to have her share this with him. He's come a long way from the stiff, uncomfortable 20 year-old he used to be. And Persia's inherited dad's talent. She did great in the video. I hope she goes into music too, I'd love to see what she will come up with.
Totally blown away at how good they both were, one of the best gigs I've ever been too, venue was terrible though. 🤖🎹🎤🔊💣💥☠👌🏻 many thanks for posting 👍🏻
Front Line Assembly , Skinny Puppy , Hocico , Aslan Faction , Grendel , Suicide Commando , Rotersand The Retrosic .. Oh there's such a thing. If the mainstream didn't feed you Trent Reznor's bubblegum industrial
Excellent performance , how proud could a dad be with his daughter..shes awesome and gonna be a star thats a fact...Gary is back cutting edge as usual just as he was all those years ago...damn fine
Smiling so big through happy tears that it hurt! What a completely epic moment for father and daughter. I can hardly wait to experience this tour later this year.
Great gig, was a pleasure to be there and the band were awesome, shout out to the drummer and bass player especially. Persia did an amazing job but I would say you'll always get the love from a Liverpool audience. So many top bands over the years have said playing a gig in Liverpool is the best in terms of crowd vibe and reaction.
Whoever put this up Thankyou so much, I couldnt go to this one, utterly gutted, that was so lovely to see him sing with Persia shes a star in the making and beautiful and the hugs between them at the end was adorable, im so pleased you've recorded this im so happy ☺👍❤🎸
I don't like live shows, I don't like fan shots ... but hey ... there are rare exceptions and this is certainly one. Loved it! I remember hearing Cars on the radio in 1980 ... it was the only time I ever called up a station to ask "What was that!!"
Great quality video. I was there. She done really well and only 11! Gary is well chuffed and quite rightly. Seen some of Persias vocals on Gemmas uploads and she has a genuine sweet voice. A unified sigh from the crowd!
Bless Persia for getting up there and singing with her dad. She did amazing despite being openly so nervous! What a brave talented young lady. Well done Persia! I love this song, Gary sounds awesome, I can't wait to see this show. Thanks for sharing your brilliant video, I love it! x
Simply amazing and I can’t stop playing this song in my head and live. I was an avid Numan fan in the late 70s and 80s then drifted away from the darker stuff he did more recently. Then this, utterly mind blown by the video and live shows. Persia is awesome. Album purchased !!!
