my father in laws dad was garys manager just before he became famous and he played the drums on the studio session for cars and we are hopeing to get him here for christmas 2010 yeeeeehaaaaa
He's a really nice bloke, met him a couple of times now. He needs to lighten the hair a shade or two; Gerry Anderson's Captain Scarlet shade of black is soooo yesterday! Cheers for posting, hope you enjoy the Replicas gigs if you are going ;-)
It's partly a transplant and partly his own. You can tell up close, but most of the time it looks fine. He's still producing great music and his concerts are awesome!
I have to agree with you, its way too dense to be real hair. If you look closely at pictures and videos, the texture of his hair on the sides and back looks different than the top and front. Some of the pictures he posts on Twitter really give it away. Yes, he has had transplants in the past, but what we see today can't possibly be the result of that. Look at the Dream Corrosion album and you will see Gary sporting the old and new hair, there's no way that could happen naturally.
I too wish that it wasn't, but you are fooling yourself my friend. He has had transplants, yes, but there is no way a transplant can produce the density he has on his head today. There's a limited supply of hair to begin with and you can't disperse it indefinitely. It does look cool sometimes but there are other times where it just looks like a nest on his head. Some of his summer holiday snaps posted on his Twitter account should convince you. Incidentally, dad looks like he is wearing too.
You'd think with all his money, that Gary could afford a better wig. That one he's wearing looks AWFUL. And no it's NOT a hair transplant. No transplant could create that much hair thickness.
