I agree! If most of your calls are routine, having the part available is a life saver in some jobs. Steve has a part for almost anything. Great vid Steve, and Miss Molly guarding the truck.
" a guy lady combination" sounds like silence of the lambs Buffalo Bill, be careful in that basement Steve, just fix the hose spout, and get the hell out of there. btw, the dog's name is Precious, and don't ask any questions about the well ;)
Got to love when the homeowner try’s to tell you what’s wrong while your diagnosing the problem. Well if you know what’s wrong why didn’t you fix it instead of calling me Lol 😝
Great job! I like old fashioned way you do business Steve! Not many people do things that way anymore! You care about the customer and take special care of your elderly customers!
Yeah life of a real technician i have most parts i need on my service truck as well its a pain to have to keep running back and forth to parts place or customer has to wait on a part with no heat or ac sucks !
You know your service man is good when it gets the jobs done in one visit. Steve in one of few plumbers who doesn’t spend the day chasing parts around in town to repair what your husband fixed. Steve does magic cause it got the parts up it’s sleeves! Thanks for sharing your daily interventions
Steve's wrkin again y'all!! Great job again !! cleaning all that up... 7:07 9:42 11:35 12:37 , shes a crusty One Mr. Grinch... LMAO. Thanks again you brightened Up my day !!
I am convinced that ventor motors are a conspiracy. They regularly fail especially on newer hi-effic gas systems and don’t seem to be designed to work for more than two or three years…
Miss Molly she’s a working dog. Supervising all the traffic and pedestrians from her window. Giving Steve the ole how ya doin sunny look. She’s a cute one fir sure. I get a kick outta Steve blaming the old man at the house for messing around with the furnace. Sure had him sheepish lol
Wow! That header pipe looks like it’s about to blow any minute. That is one very rusty pipe! (See what I mean at 2:35 into video). Nice work diagnosing problem.
Let's be honest here, that guy "who did this, and did that" is obviously not a very good handy man if you have loose switches. He should have called you first before fiddling with it.
Steve, I’ve learned so much from you and I used to hate plumbing! I can tell how experienced you are by the way you use your tools and the type of tools you use! I’d call you in an instant to fix my plumbing and heating problems, but I think eastern NY is a bit too far! 😊
Wanted to share experience I had with my gas boiler last year. I noticed when the electronic spark lighter came on it could go for 30 seconds sometimes before actually igniting the gas, used to take about 3 seconds. I cleaned it, better for a little while, but soon enough back to 30 seconds to light. I replaced it, better for a while but again after a while seemed to be heading back tp the 30 second lighting zone. The gas valve was a Honeywell, furnace was a Slant Fin which may be 40 years old. I found the gas valve on line, it was called an off brand but was actually a Honeywell (which I was able to figure out prior to purchase). The part cost me about $110 with shipping. If I had purchased locally, $400. I could have installed it myself, but I have a guy who charges $60 an hour for work and I prepared it all for him and worked with him, and took under 1 hour. Cause it was a first time and dealing with gas boiler, felt better having someone else do it. He also said there is a valve which may have needed lubrication, I did take the old one apart later, which was not easy, and I probably could have tried doing this first but was tired of screwing with it. If you try this it's a special lubricant that's need. The main point of my story is actually about how much I saved buying the replacement gas valve on line. It's been over a year now and it's worked just fine.
@@joep4143 Sorry to have offended your sensibilities with telling people how they can save considerable money on parts, especially the replacement parts. To your point yes it's gas and if you are worried hire someone like I did, but buy your own parts (if they will let you do this). I have done a couple of other projects with gas run appliances by myself over the years and they all worked for me,
@@joep4143 My part has a warranty, but I would have to pay for labor. I saved about $300 doing what I did and it worked. I am having my car repaired this weekend. Taking the needed parts, saved about $400, but yes will not get the warranty coverage. And don't get me started on what I think of any medical cost these days, I also saved $30 this week on plumbing supplies I installed buying on line. This may not be for all, I do tons of research often, I am mechanically adept, and unusually frugal. Yes providing your own parts may limit labor warranty coverage, Never actually mattered in my case of doing this over the years, everything worked fine. I took the risk and got the reward of significant savings.
It's ridiculous how many parts can go wrong with these boilers and associated parts. Powerventers, relays, thermocoupler, electronic board, electric valves and the list goes on and on. What's wrong with electric baseboard heaters?
Steve you got a lot of money in parts there between the motor and the relays for the boiler I wouldn't have a price for a job like that if I would say 950 people with tell me no
THE JOB WAS JUST OVER 800 TIME AND MATERIAL . HARD TO QUOTE UP FRONT BECAUSE OF UNFORESEEN TROUBLES ..I KINDA FELT BAD FOR THE PEOPLE NO HEAT FOR 4 DAYS .
@@stevenlavimoniere I can see that you are honest that is not much for the amount of work that you did! You always do good work for a good price and not exceping credit cards helps you not having to pass on that cost too!
I agree it's a fair price, but not everyone has $800.00 to spare in their checking account. I'd rather pay the extra $32.00 on my card than try to scramble for cash.
Great video steve ! Steve quick question water service insurance 2.99 a month from curb stop to the house . The water service now is 3/4 k copper the age of it 1970’s your thoughts get it or no . Thanks steve👍🏻
Do you think this vid was staged? Steve did have a new power venter in his truck. No charging time to go back and forth to the supply house. Steve is a honest dude. He is one true Renaissance man. You can tell some of these other plumbers on RU-vid, think they're hot shit smart, with their obviously staged reality vids.
@@stevenlavimoniere see I told ya, honest. Knows the karma. Won't even try the old up sell, "ah ya really should replace the whole thing" ....as it looks like alot of his customers are salt of the earth people.
hot water on priority is there so you never run out of domestic hot water once the system is running it works best that way .. you will never notice the heat of on priority . and you will always have nice steady hot water for a shower . best way to fly .. especially up here were its cold out .it can be shut of if you don't believe in it
