This film shows how to fix or correct a low-heat / low-flame condition in most standard US propane grills. Correct this condition prior to unnecessarily buying a new regulator, other grill parts, or a new grill.

@@LetsFixItRight Hello and I had subscribed right after your solution helped me with my grill and not enough flame after I had just replaced my propane tank with a new one. I am a little upset that I did not know this before I got this new full tank because there was still a good amount of fuel left in the tank I turned in as a replacement. Question: Will this happen again after each grilling session?
Eduardo, No it shouldn't happen with properly function grill components. You should always be able to use all of the propane in your tank. If this happens again, it could be your regulator or something else. In this case, I recommend that you contact your grill manufacturer for help. Regards, Let s Fix It Right

This happened to me today however, I had not changed tanks. I followed the Mfg instructions to light the grill but this issue manifested. My older Silver Genesis grill may not be completely shutting off the gas at the controls. Thinking my old tank must be empty, I switched tanks but the issue persisted. Your video solved the problem in the near term; but my regulator is humming (you can feel it vibrate) so I'm pretty certain I have an issue there as well.

Though I've never experienced the problem I do appreciate the video and I'll keep it in mind. I just did a major clean on the identical Weber Genesis and adjusted the air inlets on the burners. I notice your flames are quite yellow (especially #3) as were mine. Have you considered adding some primary air to improve your burn? Remove the cover under the control panel via 2 #10-24 flat head screws and the venturies and their adjusting screws are readily accessible.
MP, Your recommendation is a good one. Even though my grill has good heat, your approach sounds like it will most likely improve the flames and burn less propane. With that said, I will keep your comment on display so others can benefit from it. By the way, I appreciate your interest in my channel. @@LetsFixItRight There are some you tube videos with other grills but I didn't find a Weber specific on adjusting the burn tubes. I was surprised to find the default factory setting was at the least amount of primary air, again making my flame yellow. What's nice about the Weber is the screens over the air inlet, filtering out junk. Of course the down side is they could require maintenence though mine were clean. The other thing I found on one tube was a tiny speck of something under the piezo igniter body which was shorting out the spark. It was still sparking but not at the tip of the electrode, instead a full inch back. The speck came right out and restored the proper function. That's a potential problem with inconsistant ignition. These two items would make a nice pair videos; now you have 202 to do!

Bryan, Last night shortly after seeing your message, my wife and I grilled on our 5-year-old Weber grill. When grilling was complete, I turned all 3 burners up to the max and the temp quickly jumped to 900 degrees. Consequently, I suspect your new grill was not put together properly or something else is wrong. Recommend that you contact the merchant where you bought it or call Weber. If possible, I would return the grill and get a new one. However, please note that the low heat / low flame procedure I cover in my video does not apply to a high heat condition. It only applies to conditions where the regulator kicks on and the total temp will not go above 200 degrees. In most cases as I explain in the video, this is due to the grill operator opening the burner knobs to quickly after turning on the tank. Otherwise, I appreciate your interest in my “Let’s Fix It Right” channel. By the way, I retired recently and have plans for another 200 to 300 great DIY videos. MY Broilmaster grill was always cold. Questions to the dealer, manufacturer, new regulators---nothing worked. Don't buy a Broilmaster. I eventually finagled a fix by purchasing a regulator made for a much larger commercial propane cooker and had Amazon hose and rubber rebuild the hose on it with the broilmaster fittings. Now I had a small valve with which to manually control the gas flow into the grill. I can adjust the flame from super-low smoker heat to after-burner-steel-smelting!

Walter, Not sure what type of grille you have. If none of you knobs work, it could be your regulator or the manifold where your knobs attach. I just bought a new Char-Broil gas grill and the knobs doesn’t control the flames. It’s stuck on low flame. Do you know what’s wrong with my new grill? Do you know how I can fix it?
themicmac88, If the procedure in my video doesn’t work, it could be something like a bad regulator, which is connected to the propane tank or your valve manifold assembly, which is regulated by the control knobs. It’s also possible that your new grill was not put together properly. Or, something else could be wrong. Recommend that you contact the merchant where you bought it or call Char-Broil.
