Hi Roy + Allen -- love your fault finding videos -- i've been a gas engineer for 47 years and i'm still learning , theres always something new to learn -- i've been to Vaillant + Vokeras trining centres a few times which are both close to Haifax , your training centre at Viva in Halifax looks a great place to learn about gas appliances -- the local trainees are very lucky in your area --
The I've never really used the pressure differential on digital manometers. Great tutorial team Allen ♥️. I'll be sure to try this when I'm next testing an aps or fan venturi. The ferrolli modena 80e had those troublesome venturi's which always seemed to go brittle. You guys have a fountain of knowledge between you. I take it you're both ex British gas engineers?
Great video. Can you test the air pressure switch using an old school u gauge, or does it need to be digital? Thanks, and great instruction as always 👍
Hi Allen, when Roy mentions fitting one hose to the high pressure side and the low pressure to another, is this simply the + and - terminals on my Anton, as the Anton he has seems to be a stand alone manometer? BTW, please could you stop loving every message, as it denigrates actual real good ones that you do actually love for its' content IMHO.
Hi David, Thanks for the feedback. If you using an Anton FGA connect the high pressure to the +ve & low pressure to the -ve, if you did get the the wrong way round you would end up with the same reading only it would be a -ve reading.
I just blow an egg cup of water through the tube into the Venturi to wash it.. Listen for the click of the switch…suck on the switch tube to see if it fires up.. Check open & closure etc with a meter to prove micro switch…im not buying a pressure tester as ap switches are becoming rare now…not sure why this video popped up but literally first job today is a main 24 with a flashing light during ignition…spooky.
