This video provides an overview of gastroesophageal reflux disease, also known as GERD.
You will learn about several evidence-based recommendations for managing GERD, including weight loss and appropriate meal timing.
You will also see the known trigger foods for GERD, and how they should be identified and eliminated from the diet.
Finally, you will see other lifestyle modifications that can be made to alleviate GERD symptoms like heartburn and regurgitation.
In the video, I talk a lot about the current recommendations from the American College of Gastroenterology.
You can find that paper here: journals.lww.com/ajg/Fulltext...

In my experience if you have a cigarette immediately after a mesl the heartburn becomes unbearable intense. Since I have stopped smoking the problem is slowly easing off. I fully agree with your meal time, sleeping pattern. I have no weight problem though. I am not certain about citrus fruit. I must it closely. What about apple cider. I am a regular user.? Very informative. Thank you.

At 11:07 you mentioned lowering the ph of gastric contents as sonething that may increase GERD. Does this mean that even drinking water during meal times may increase the risk of GERD. From what I understand, water is about a ph of 7 and HCL is about 1.1. I would imagine drinking water would also lead to an increase in pH. Let me know what you think! Thanks!
